WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest (which we try to do every day, honest) to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere. I share something in common with the little girl, Agnes, in that video above -- I'm a sucker for pretty things. This probably explains why my bank is full. But I'm not the only one who likes fluffy, pretty things. Let's take a look around the blogosphere for more fluffy -- er, pretty topics of conversation. Pink Pigtail Inn talks about what makes weapons look awesome. And fluffy. Falling Leaves and Wings has an overview of the new, improved and much prettier WoW community site. Dreambound talks about the difference between bad, nasty, ugly green goo, and pretty, Efflorescence-generated green goo. Lastly, have you seen Postcards from Azeroth, the website dedicated to creating snapshots of Azeroth in the style of collectible postcards? You should! WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest (which we try to do every day, honest) to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere. The Evil Twin debuff doesn't really do anything; it's just there. But I've often pondered what exactly an evil twin of my character would do. Would she join the Lich King's army? Would she trick people into thinking she was a mage with her Wormhole Generator and laugh when they tried to click? Or maybe she'd visit Sheddle Glossgleam in Dalaran, get her shoes nice and shiny, then kill a squirrel and stand on the corpse, waiting to see what poor sucker stops to try and loot the thing. Oh, wait. She already does that last one. Regardless, here are some posts from here and there around the blogosphere in regards to different ways of thinking: RestoDude ponders the interplay between gaming and real life. World of Warcraft Philosophized considers the questionable legitimacy of objective rewards. Corath's Blog muddles over the switch from caster to melee main. Asilventures has a few ideas about beating the pre-Cataclysm blahs. Noggenfogger roulette, anyone? Is there a story out there we ought to link or a blog we should be following? WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest (which we try to do every day, honest) to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere. How about that patch, huh? Patch 4.0.1 turned everything we know about our classes upside down. It was upsetting, it was unnerving and it was a bit buggy -- heck, it's still a bit buggy. Plenty of new things to play with, but we still mourn the loss of old, beloved spells and companions. Here are a few posts from around the blogosphere giving heartfelt tributes to things that are no longer with us: World of Matticus has an ode to the Sentry Totem (and a guide to 4.0.1 shaman glyphs). The issue has since been fixed, but Cynwise's Battlefield Manual has a wonderful post dedicated to her beloved warlock minions and their sudden absence. World of Warcraft Philosophized has a lovely photo tribute to the Tree of Life. Is there a story out there we ought to link or a blog we should be following? WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest (which we try to do every day, honest) to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere. One of the most hotly debated topics regarding Cataclysm has surrounded the soon-to-be former Warchief Thrall and his replacement Garrosh. One of the most anticipated things about Cataclysm is the upcoming revamp of the old starting zones. Luckily, the blogosphere seems to be discussing each of these things! Convenient, eh? The Dead Good Tanking Guide has an ode to the new Warchief. Player Versus Developer discusses Thrall's farewell to Nagrand. Lastly, The Barrens Chat is reviewing the current starter zones -- including a look at the gnome and dwarf areas. Is there a story out there we ought to link or a blog we should be following? It's just around the corner -- maybe even as soon as next week, who knows? That's right, patch 4.0.1 is looming ever closer on the horizon, and with the patch comes a complete revamp and overhaul of every single class in the game. Are you going to adapt or curl up into a ball and cry? Let's see what the blogosphere has to say about the upcoming madness: Tree Bark Jacket has a handy guide on how to heal in the upcoming patch. Righteous Defense has everything you need to know about prot and 4.0.1 at level 80. Gray Matter talks about the new "Smart Eclipse" mechanic for Moonkin. WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest (which we try to do every day, honest) to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere. Cro, pictured above, will likely care little for the Cataclysm -- largely because he is on a planet that will be unaffected by Deathwing's sudden emergence. No, Cro will continue to spend his days participating in what has by now become his daily routine, a litany of griping about that blasted fruit vendor and her annoying cart. There are plenty of people in the blogosphere with things to say about the upcoming changes, though -- what to expect and why we shouldn't panic: Righteous Defense talks about Build 12984 and the positive changes for paladins. Restokin has some highlights of Build 12984's changes for druids. World of Warcraft Philosophized chats about the absurdity of feat-of-strength panic. And Big Bear Butt wonders if you're worried about the changes to come. Is there a story out there we ought to link or a blog we should be following? Change is lurking in beta clients, PTRs and background downloaders, hinting that all those big things we've been waiting for are just around the corner. Between the beta and the PTR, there is more than enough information about the upcoming Cataclysm expansion, but hey -- the blogosphere's got plenty to say about it all, too! Bible of Dreams wants to know if you're checking out the Patch 4.0.1 PTR. Gray Matter talks about the Cataclysm beta -- specifically, moonkin glyphs! In the ongoing struggle for Warchief supremacy, Oddcraft brings us a very special debate between Thrall, a Basic Campfire and ... some other guy. Here at WoW.com, we're on a Daily Quest (which we try to do every day, honest) to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere. I have far too many armor sets. In fact, I have mostly completed every armor set except for tier 3, which is no longer obtainable because it existed in the original 40-man Naxxramas instance. I even have the Postmaster's Set -- don't ask how long it took to farm. Needless to say, fashionable accessories are all kinds of fun, and today we've got some links from around the blogosphere about accessories, both virtual and otherwise: Like that shirt pictured above? We do, too -- it's from Lee Bretschneider of Adventuring Company, and you can preorder it at his store. Letters From Birdfall has a nice list of upcoming Cataclysm accessories. Would you like a pirate hat? Daughter of Ravenholdt Manor has a nice post about making friends with the Bloodsail. Is there a story out there we ought to link or a blog we should be following? Too Many Annas offers some helpful advice to roleplayers worried about boring characters. Kaliope's WoW Crafting Blog has a nice Leatherworker's Guide for Cataclysm Buyers. Here at WoW.com, we're on a Daily Quest (which we try to do every day, honest) to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere. The random dungeon finder has certainly made it much easier for people to find groups for various dungeons, even more so if you happen to be a tank or a healer -- but even DPS players don't have to wait too terribly long to get a dungeon out of the way. The best part, for me, is the surprise element of the random dungeon feature. You never know what you're going to run or who you're going to be running it with. Sometimes you end up with good people, and sometimes you end up with bad -- which is where the vote-kicking feature comes in. Let's take a look around the blogosphere and see what others have to say about grouping: You Yank It You Tank It has some words of advice for groups on how to treat a tank. Big Bear Butt talks about the behavior of players in WoW and the vote-kick system. Thoughts From the Shadows discusses 5-man etiquette. Lastly, Pink Pigtail Inn has an interesting look into the power of a GM and why treating one poorly isn't recommended. Is there a story out there we ought to link or a blog we should be following? Don't mind me, strange squishy silver blob thing. I'm just a box. A box full of stabbing. Speaking of killing, there were a few pretty interesting posts around the blogosphere recently that discussed the topic of "virtual murder" and the habit of killing things in video games: Tobold's MMORPG blog asks why there's so much virtual murder out there. The Noisy Rogue ponders the idea of killing's becoming utterly mundane. Jinxed Thoughts wonders what would happen if you could kill anyone in game, regardless of faction. Here at WoW.com, we're on a Daily Quest (which we try to do every day, honest) to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere. I pretty much fell in love with my current guild the moment I joined it. In the six (nearly seven now, isn't it?) years I've been playing World of Warcraft, I've belonged to very, very few guilds, and there's a reason for that -- once I find one I like, I stick with it. Despite belonging to only a handful of guilds in my WoW lifetime, I've run the gamut from casual to hardcore raiding to RP to casual raiding. Each guild was run a little differently, and each guild had its own methods of recruiting. Today we've got a handful of posts about guilds: Hots and Dots has an oldie but goodie: 10 tips to successfully apply to a raiding guild. Tastes Like Battle Chicken gives us a list of 5 things you should know before you app. World of Matticus has some words of wisdom when a raider is not a team member. Here at WoW.com, we're on a Daily Quest (which we try to do every day, honest) to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere. Can't we all just get along? It's a frequently asked question -- and in bigger groups and guilds, the more people you shove in, the more you hear it. With so many different types and personalities, you're bound to have clashes happen. What's guild to do when it comes to keeping things organized? What's a player to do, when dealing with a lot of people they might not be compatible with? Well, it looks like once again, the blogging world of Warcraft has some words to say about it. Deuwowlity talks about guild structures, people and what's important. Pugnacious Priest responds with a discussion on why who you play with matters. Meanwhile, Bible of Dreams has four tactics to running more effective officer and guild meetings. And lastly, The Pink Pigtail Inn has some advice about making an unforgettable guild anniversary. Here at WoW.com, we're on a Daily Quest (which we try to do every day, honest) to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere. Some people have things to say about everything under the sun -- like the goblin pictured above, who is engaging in a frank and earnest discussion about poultry-based thermodynamics and the merits of their application in conjunction with other forms of flightless fowl. Unfortunately the only person that would listen to her is Chilly the penguin, who simply doesn't know any better. Fortunately, we've found some posts that are much more entertaining than Miss Yammersalot. Mana Obscura discusses the growing yet shrinking world ... of Warcraft. World of Warcraft Philosophized comments on guild perks and the effects on individual players. The Pink Pigtail Inn asks whether Twitter chat is really the best way to communicate.
