Blizzard has been updating the artwork on the official website again, and that means new wallpapers and shiny new fan art! The wallpaper features artwork from the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game, so if you play, or are simply a fan of WoW-themed depictions, it might be time to update your desktop background. As for the fan art, much of it is holiday and Winter's Veil-themed, which often makes for some humorous images. Aside from being ever on the lookout for new fan artwork, Blizzard is also asking for some top-notch screenshots of Auchindoun: Auchenai Crypts. They would like to see depictions of the architecture and the scenery, in addition to combat. If your screenshots are selected, as always, they will appear in the World of Warcraft Guide, along with your character's name. For a list of banned subject matter, screenshot-taking tips, and a drop-down menu featuring every area of which Blizz is needing screenshots, visit the Screenshot Submission Form. While you're in the mood to snap some great shots, don't forget to take some holiday-themed ones, and enter Blizzard's latest holiday contest, to win some decent prizes!

If you love to take screenshots of unique and interesting, or simply beautiful, areas in WoW, then consider submitting yours for use in WoW Vault's 2008 calendar. All you need to do for instant calendar fame is to head out and take some screenshots of your character in seasonal areas. Find some amazing winter, spring, summer, and fall-themed backdrops for your photo-shoot, and get shooting! The screenies will be available for download each month, and will contain the character's name, guild name, and server. Don't forget to remove your UI from the shot, using alt+z or option+z on a Mac. To take a shot if you use Windows, simply press Prt Scr, located up above the Delete key. If you are a Mac user, press F13. Screenshots should be stored in your World of Warcraft folder, in a sub-folder labeled Screenshots. If you are using Vista, they may be stored somewhere tricky. While you may be able to find this file path, I had to actually search for it, as clicking through the folders along the path didn't work for me. C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Screenshots. If you'd like to increase your camera distance, try out an addon like Improved Camera. Now get creative, and get submitting!

From NPCs to player names to guild names and locations, I often find myself having a chuckle over Blizzard's and players' creative naming decisions. We've started a gallery to showcase some of the funnier names around Azeroth and Outland, and we need your help filling it in. If you see a funny NPC, player, guild, or place name in your travels that isn't already in our gallery, take a screenshot and send it in. We're happy to credit you by name and a link to your blog, guild website, etc. We'll keep updating the gallery and post periodic reminders as long as it keeps growing. Make sure your image is less than 10MB in size and send it to funnynames AT wowinsider DOT com. And of course, check out the gallery so far. Thanks in advance for your submissions! %Gallery-1669%
