Well, what have we here? One of those unicorn-like Opus motherboards? According to an image put forth by one Electric Tuner, that's exactly what we have. If you'll recall, we heard back in February that Microsoft may be utilizing the Opus mobos in order to fit the newer 65 / 90-nanometer CPU / GPU combo into RRoDed Xbox 360s that are just collecting dust in warehouses. Thus, you'll find no dedicated HDMI port here, but it should operate much cooler and in a more reliable fashion than the pre-Falcon rigs. There's no word on how exactly this unit was acquired (a replacement, perhaps?), but you can head on down to the read link for one more picture and a little discussion.[Via Xbox-Scene, thanks Leonardo]

It looks like after all the rumor-mongering and speculation, the bomb is in fact dropping on Xbox 360 Premium hopefuls: the game systems are shipping with HDMI. At least one lucky customer who purchased a Premium system at a Target in Atlanta is currently enjoying the spoils of Microsoft's not-so-secret addition, so hot out of tips and direct to your eyes, we present the first of many you'll be seeing with the much-discussed, built-in HDMI port (and obviously perhaps the cooler 65nm chips onboard). You can stop saving and start buying -- as long as your Xbox was built on or around July 4th, a date which will now be remembered for two reasons.Update - Apparently, there's nothing "obvious" about that 65nm chip situation. Right now it looks like some may have it, and some may not.[Via Shacknews, thanks Tim]

If you're still on the fence about actually purchasing an Xbox 360, then we have a new reason for you. Actually, we have 150 of them. Head over to OverStock Dealz and you can pick up an Xbox 360 premium system for only $249.99. Yup, that's 150 smackers off the normal retail price. Now, it should be noted that the condition is listed as "Like New, in Original Packaging," and we've never shopped at OverStock Dealz before, so buy at your own risk. Still, at a $250 price, it's likely to be the best deal you'll find on an Xbox 360 for quite a while.[Thanks, Raymond Gonzalez]

In an act of undercover retail leakage (no, not that kind of leakage) DigitalSomething posted scans of next Sunday's Toys R Us ad. And after paging through their images we noticed a pretty cool Xbox 360 offer. Beginning April 1st at Toys R Us you can grab a free $50 gift card with any Xbox 360 console purchase. Though, it really doesn't compare to this past Christmas' offer, but that was then this is now. Not too shabby of a deal especially if you're looking to buy a specific game or peripheral that isn't included in the various bundle offers.[Via Digg]

President's Day is Monday and that means one thing ... great shopping deals! To kickstart the sales Micro Center is offering a few nice Xbox 360 deals including a wireless controller for $19.99, a HD-DVD drive for $169.99 and a $50 gift card with the purchase of a Xbox 360 premium bundle. And stay away from that Intercooler guys. Be forewarned though, this offer is only good in-store and only on Monday, February 19th. See, we always knew there was a good reason to celebrate President's Day.[Thanks, Jason]

  • Great (White North) Deal on Xbox 360

FactoryDirect.ca is selling Xbox 360 Premium consoles for the low, low price of $349.99 CDN. That translates into roughly $296 USD. Not a bad deal at all, but quantities are limited, as of this writing they have only 193 consoles in stock. The site lists the packaging as OEM, which stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. That explains the extreme discount on the Xbox, since there isn't a middleman jacking up the price for their own profit. In any case, if you're a fellow hoser fanboy and want to get your hands on some cheap Xbox 360 hardware, here's your ticket. Anyone going to capitalize on the deal "while supplies last"?[Thanks, So Naive, eh?]

  • Xbox 360 bundle with 20MB HD, what?

That silly online retailer Target is up to no good again. If you recall, months ago on the Xbox 360 page at Target.com they showed a possessed picture of a 360 which scared everyone and some even cried. Now, it looks like they messed up again by drastically cutting down the HD capacity on their exclusive premium bundle to a measly 20MB (wait, do they even make 20MB HDs?). Anyway, we're thinking our opinion on those upcoming 256MB memory cards was a little off, you'll need a LOT more storage than what this uber special 20MB HD has to offer. Target, get your details right or else we're sending our kitty Burger after you. And we're not kidding.[Via Digg]

Again, the holiday deals just keep rolling in. This week at Toys R Us when you purchase a Xbox 360 premium pack you'll get a free $100 Toys R Us gift card. The offer looks to be only available in-store as we haven't been able to unearth any information on their website. This has to be one of the best deals on a new 360 purchase in a while, especially for parents who need to pick up other gifts at the toys retailer with the $100 gift card. Or you can totally be a hardcore gamer and pick up a game or two, maybe an extra controller, or even some candy! Spend your $100 gift card wisely.Update 1: Replaced post's image with actual Sunday adscan. Having proof is a good thing.[Thanks, Darrien W.]

  • Xbox 360 premium bundle could ship with 100 GB HDD this spring

    by

A new rumor, stemming from an alleged New Jersey Best Buy employee, claims that the Xbox 360 Premium bundle will ship with a 100 GB hard drive beginning in April. The "tip" reports that Best Buy store managers have been instructed to hold off from selling Premium bundles until next month when the upgraded package will be officially unveiled. However, the tipster was careful to note, "[The] 100 GIG HDD is not 100% offical [sic]."It's hard to believe that Microsoft would initiate this move at this time. The Premium bundle has been flying off of shelves (at least, in North America and Europe) with a 20 GB HDD. Why make the change? And more importantly, why piss off early adopters just four months after launch? Increasing the size of the bundled HDD is something Microsoft might explore after Sony has made an official announcement regarding the PS3's HDD or if large-scale episodic content starts to jump off. But for now, the releases of games like GRAW, Burnout, and the forthcoming Oblivion are gonna motivate hardware sales next month, not empty space.
