Stuck with one carrier with your new superphone? Not for much longer, at least, if you're using the I9300 version of the Galaxy S III and are willing to dabble with some rooting. The app is free, but requires said root access, unlocking your phone baseband and opening up the device to any and all (radio-compatible) SIM cards. Its creator, Supercurio, ensures us that important data is backed-up before the operation, although an automatic restore option isn't yet included in the beta version. Unlock the SIM-swapping potential by hitting up the source below.

While the Carrier IQ saga continues to unfold, our eForensics ally, François Simond (supercurio) has cooked up an app for any Android device users wanting to check if the analytics company has its fingers in his or her privacy pie. Not only is the unfinished app available for download now, but the open source code is also up for anyone looking to improve on the developmental release. Wannabe Carrier IQ investigators can hit up both at the source links below.

At a thickness of 7.1mm, the Motorola RAZR's so thin that you wouldn't think that anything could actually fit in there, but there's indeed plenty of circuitry and silicon crammed into that teeny space. As always, our curiosity was aroused with such a high-profile device, so we once again called upon the talents of Francois Simond (Supercurio) to do some eForensics and clear up some of the mysteries lying between that gorgeous display and tough Kevlar backing. Join us below, won't you? Note: The list you see below is non-extensive and may grow as we hunt down additional details.

But first we need to get to know the device a little better. To do this, we once again recruited the knowledge and insight of Francois Simond (Supercurio) to dive into the circuitry, sensors, and other innards to find out what makes this Note tick. Follow on below to get the inside scoop.

Hold on to your hats, people, there's a wind of awesomeness coming through. The Nexus S is no longer the only Gingerbread game in town, courtesy of supercurio over on the xda-developers forum, who has ported the hot new phone's Android 2.3 install over to its Samsung forefather, the Galaxy S. The port is described as being unmodified from the Nexus S original, although quite a few basic functions like voice, WiFi, and GPS (insert joke about Galaxy S GPS woes) aren't yet operational. All the same, we agree with supercurio that it's looking "super smooth" and look forward to seeing him and the rest of the xda crew polish this stock Android baby off in short order.
