SkyMiles distributor Delta isn't a newcomer to the land of in-flight WiFi freebies. And, while this time it's not setting a time limit on your browsing, you'll have to stay within the Amazon virtual walls to take advantage. The hook-up between the airline and online retail giant will allow passengers to do some up-in-the-clouds shopping at no cost, including its Wireless store. Delta says the goal is to offer a "convenient way to shop online at 30,000 feet for things they want on the ground." Other bits announced are also costless access to content from The Wall Street Journal and People magazine, as well as more "exclusive" deals. Now, if only we could be certain folks weren't going to be hogging all the Gogo bandwidth streaming Netflix -- we'd be set.

Don't be so quick to file this one under "duh!" -- Amazon's added a whole lotta sweetener to its usual smartphone-for-a-penny pot. If your frugal heart's been holding out hope for a discounted drop of the high-end mobile goods, now would be the time to pounce. The Seattle-based web retailer's wireless arm is throwing every phone from Sprint, Verizon and AT&T under the $0.01 umbrella for a limited time. Starting today and running until the 28th, you can snatch up a Galaxy S II Skyrocket, Droid RAZR, Rezound or Focus S (just to name a few) for one Lincoln-embossed, copper-plated piece. But there's a catch, and you knew it was coming. In order to take advantage of this Crazy Eddie-like steal, you'll have to sign up for a new line of service. So, bust out the credit card (and your credit report), the mobile bargains lie in wait at the source.

  • Amazon Wireless reduces Inspire 4G to $30, makes AT&T look downright miserly

If your desire for unibody enclosures is limited by a reluctance to pony up for premium designs, then you might grin knowing that Amazon Wireless is selling the HTC Inspire 4G for $30. Yes, this massive 4.3-inch slab can be the pride of your pocket without simultaneously emptying your wallet -- that's before you start piling on the accessories, anyway. While the Inspire 4G's reputation was initially sullied by an indictment in HSUPA-gate, it was later cleared of all charges thanks to AT&T's promised update. Now that users can upload with abandon, this might be a fine opportunity to recommit with Ma Bell while pocketing an easy $70. We know, it's a good find -- but don't start laughing too maniacally or your co-workers will get suspicious.

Remember when new mobile phones didn't come bundled with free app purchases? Hopefully you do... because that was just yesterday. Beginning now (and for this week only), Amazon Wireless is offering a $25 Appstore credit with each Verizon activation. Now this really goes without saying, but you'll need to choose an Android device to get this freebie. In other words, choosing the Octane or Cosmos Touch won't get you far, but if you'd planned on donning green and red anyway, Amazon's offer seems mighty appealing. The deal ends May 1st, so act quickly if you hope to score those free apps.

  • HTC Thunderbolt drops to $130 for new Verizon customers at Amazon over the weekend

If the Droid Charge has you thinking that Verizon LTE phones have to cost an arm, a leg, and an extra $100, you'll want to take a look at this. Amazon Wireless is chopping the Thunderbolt, Verizon's original 4G bad boy, down to the extremely palatable price of $130 on contract, valid for new Verizon subscribers who buy the phone between now and midnight Pacific Time on Monday. The 4.3-inch, Android 2.2 smartphone from HTC impressed us greatly with the 4G speeds it was able to pull down in our review, and while those might not remain quite so spectacular once that network starts loading up more customers, a price like the present one makes it an excellent proposition in the short term. The source link is where you'll find it.

  • Motorola Atrix 4G goes up on AmazonWireless, $150 on February 11th -- mistake? (update: Inspire 4G, too)

We suspect the boys and girls over at AmazonWireless threw their Atrix 4G product page up early, because -- among other red flags -- the buy button doesn't work, but one important detail we can glean from it is that they seem interested in selling it for $149.99 on a new contract or $599.99 off-contract. Now, there are a couple of possibilities here; first off, since the page likely isn't supposed to be online, these prices might just be guesses or placeholders, but furthermore, keep in mind that AmazonWireless and other third-party wireless resellers typically charge less for devices on contract than carriers do, so we'd expect this to be at least $50 more directly from AT&T. Oh, and one other tidbit: searching for the phone on Amazon reveals a possible release date of February 11th, which would be even more aggressive than Moto's end-of-February guidance. Again, possibly another guess or placeholder on Amazon's part... but it's a date to keep in the back of your head nonetheless. [Thanks, Roman] Update: Turns out the Inspire 4G is listed, too, for $99.99 on contract or $499.99 contract-free. Thanks, Justin S.! Update 2: ...and they're gone. Whoops!

  • Verizon's Droid lineup available at Amazon for a penny per handset with no activation fee

Yeah, retailers are always undercutting carrier pricing, sometimes pretty dramatically, but Amazon's taking things to the limit this weekend. You can score any of Verizon's major Droid phones for a penny, and Verizon is also fronting the $35 Verizon line activation fee. Of course, you'll have to sign up for a two year contract, and you'd better not think about canceling out of it: Amazon has a $250 per device cancellation fee on top of Verizon's own hefty charge. Ah, the price of free.

  • HTC HD7 is hitting T-Mobile November 8th for $200... but it's hitting Amazon for $30 less

Yes, true: T-Mobile announced last week by way of Twitter that it would be retailing the HD7 on November 8th -- the same day as AT&T's Samsung Focus and HTC Surround -- for $199.99 on contract. Thing is, it turns out that AmazonWireless is going to be selling it for $169.99 on contract... which, by our calculations, is $30 less for the same product! Obviously, it's the norm for retailers like Amazon and Wirefly to charge less for phones on new two-year deals than their first-party counterparts -- but what's notable here is that Amazon will be undercutting T-Mobile by a nice little margin on day one. Well, at least we think it'll be day one; the site quotes "usually 1 to 3 weeks" for shipping, which should match up with the drop date, give or take. [Thanks, Collin W.] Update: Newegg (via seller Simplexity) has 'em for $150... so yeah, needless to say, looks like there'll be no shortage of ways to get this thing for less than the $200 T-Mobile wants. Thanks, Matt!
