Excellent news for that one guy making a Street Fighter X Tekken stop-motion animation film based on the one fanfic he wrote, as well as regular people with cubicles that need decorating: Diamond Select Toys will be releasing two new series of SFxT Minimates figures, with the first wave arriving in November.Regardless of which wave they're in, characters come in fixed packs of two: Ken vs. Steve, Cammy vs. Nina, Poison vs. Lili and Sagat vs. King (above) make up November's offering. Wave two, said to release sometime in February, pits Chun-Li vs. Hwoarang, Abel vs. Kazuya, Ryu vs. Yoshimitsu and Rufus vs. Julia, all of whom can be seen after the break. No word on pricing, but we do know that some pairs will be more rare than others.

  • Street Fighter X Tekken Vita includes new 'Ghost Tag' and 'Swap Switch' systems

In addition to packed-in DLC characters, Near functionality and AR stuff, the Vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken will also include two other features not found in its console brother: "Ghost Tag" and "Swap Switch."Ghost Tag functions like the fighting game equivalent of lap-time ghosts in an online racing game. When a player fights someone online, their opponent's match configuration (characters, costume colors, gem setup, etc) is recorded and saved for later. The player can then go back and re-fight that specific match, albeit it against CPU-controlled characters rather than an actual person. While in Ghost Tag mode, players can "Swap Switch" their team, taking control of the ghost characters saved earlier. While it does not appear as though they'll be able to be used in actual online fights, it may help you figure out how that Zangief player Atomic Buster'd you so hard your Vita disconnected from the Internet.

Capcom just left a massive pile of trailers and screenshots on our doorstep, and rather than breaking them down into a bunch of tiny, annoying posts, we figured it'd be more convenient for you at home to bunch them all together into one big cornucopia of media consumables. Mediumables, if you will.Above and below, you'll find a gameplay trailer of Remember Me, as well as a corresponding gallery. Then, after the break, you'll find trailers and screenshots from pretty much everything else Capcom has going on for a while: Lost Planet 3, DmC: Devil May Cry, Resident Evil 6, Street Fighter X Tekken Vita, Okami HD and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure HD.%Gallery-162365%

Good news, everyone! Half of the PC versions of Street Fighter X Tekken have reached DLC parity with their console brethren. Granted, there are only two PC versions of SFxT, and the one that got the DLC first is the Games for Windows Live version, but at this point we're sure the PC fighting game community is grateful for pretty much whatever they can get.DLC for the Steam version of SFxT was originally planned to launch simultaneously with the GFWL release, but an "unforeseen error with the Valve submission process" has caused it to be delayed into "early next week," according to an update on Capcom Unity.

If you've ever hoped in your heart of hearts that Mega Man and Pac-Man, found in the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions of Street Fighter X Tekken, would make their way to the Xbox 360 version, you might as well give up, according to producer Tomoyaki Ayano. The characters will remain exclusive to PlayStation, Ayano confirmed to Siliconera, despite both characters being found within the code of the Xbox 360 version. In fact, those with the know-how have even managed to dig them out of the code so as to make them playable, as seen in the video above. Ayano is aware of this, and said, "Every game has data on it that is unused," elaborating that Capcom "never intended" to release the characters on Xbox.

The PlayStation Vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken will be punching bears all over North America on October 23, according to Capcom Unity. Purchasing the game unlocks those 12 characters on the PS3 version, and though Japan receives both retail and digital copies on October 25 there has been no confirmation of a PSN release in the US.Street Fighter X Tekken's myriad of Vita-centric capabilities were also expounded upon today by a blitzkrieg of new videos, as seen above and beyond the veil. Near functionality has been added, allowing players to wirelessly trade custom costume color combinations when randomly in proximity. Ad-hoc multiplayer is supported for up to four players at once, and the Vita's camera can even be used to take pictures of characters doing Street Fightery stuff on your kitchen table.%Gallery-160181%

Another EVO Championship Series has come and gone, taking with it the hopes, dreams and aspirations of a community. EVO is the Super Bowl of fighting games, but also a cultural mecca for those who share the genre as their life's passion. This year's proceedings were punctuated by surprises, upsets and incredible displays of skill and technical prowess, perhaps more so than any EVO in recent memory. Last year's Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition champion, Fuudo, tied with three others for ninth place at this year's tournament, for instance. Conversely, Perfect Legend successfully defended his throne as Mortal Kombat champion, becoming the first person to retain their title since Daigo Umehara's SSF4 victory in 2010.Head on past the break for results of the seven major tournaments that took place over the weekend, along with videos of the Grand Finals for each game, courtesy of IGN. If you're pressed for time, allow us to make some recommendations: Watch the first rounds of the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and SSF4:AE Ver. 2012 Grand Finals for two of the most exciting KOs of the weekend, and peep the King of Fighters XIII Grand Finals for the most excitable stream commentators in the entire world.

All those extra characters included in the PlayStation Vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken will be hitting consoles way ahead of their originally planned post-portable release window, and in fact ahead of the Vita version all together, on July 31.The $19.99/1600 MS Point DLC pack will add 12 new characters to fray, bringing the game's roster to an even 50 fighters. The new Street Fighter characters include series mainstay Blanka, Final Fight converts Cody and Guy, Third Strike alumni Dudley and Elena, and Alpha 2 favorite Sakura Kasugano.Bolstering Tekken's numbers are Alisa Bosconovitch, Bryan Fury, Christie Monteiro, Jack-X, Lars Alexandersson and Lei Wulong. Twelve brand-new characters may sound like a lot to download all at once, but the process should actually be surprisingly quick.

Street Fighter X Tekken met with a troubled launch and a cool reception on PS3 and Xbox 360. Maybe it'll do better ... on iPhone? Capcom announced today that Street Fighter X Tekken is due for release on iOS this summer.According to Capcom, the mobile version includes "brand new modes and a brand new take on the tag team mechanic." So far the only confirmed characters are Ryu, Chun-Li, Kazuya, and Nina, so in its current state that "brand new take" only includes "being able to choose fewer people for your tag team." We're confident Capcom will announce more characters before the game's release, and if SF4 on iOS is any indication, add more characters in free updates.%Gallery-158270%

Capcom has said it planned to eradicate game-freezing knife collisions from Street Fighter X Tekken in mid-June, but we didn't assume it would happen in such a literal timeframe. Capcom producer Tomoaki Ayano dated the fix for June 14 on the Japanese development blog.He also apologized: There will be no free Wild Card booster pack included in next week's planned content dump. He also provided some insight into Capcom's E3 booth layout, which will devote a section to displaying Street Fighter X Tekken cross-play between the PS Vita and PS3 versions.

As you may have noticed during online play, or perhaps heard about on an internet website, Street Fighter X Tekken's reccent Patch 1.04 introduced a major, game-breaking glitch, wherein any knife-like projectile will cause the game to hard freeze, should it come into contact with any fireball."The development team is currently examining the problem and planning to patch the game as quickly as possible," said producer Tomoaki Ayano in a statement to Capcom Unity. "The patch to fix the glitch should be released by mid June." Patch 1.04 was originally released with the intention of correcting infinite combos and other game-breaking glitches that had been discovered.

Let's face it: Street Fighter X Tekken just wouldn't be Street Fighter X Tekken without at least one game-breaking bug. This was probably Capcom's thought process when it launched the latest patch, which introduces a glitch that freezes the game whenever Rolento's knife hits an opponent's fireball. The above video demonstrates the bug, which affects Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games that have been updated to version 1.04, Shoryuken reports. The patch does fix a few problems, such as hit box issues.

  • Capcom re-evaluating on-disc DLC, is 'listening'

Capcom is revising its DLC strategy to include less content on-disc at launch, senior vice president Christian Svensson writes in a post in the Capcom forums. "We would like to assure you that we have been listening to your comments and as such have begun the process of re-evaluating how such additional game content is delivered in the future," Svensson says. This introspection follows vicious complaints about Street Fighter X Tekken's on-disc DLC, to which Capcom responded that it sees no distinction between on- and off-disc DLC. A few titles currently in production will ship with on-disc DLC, including Dragon's Dogma, Svensson writes.Capcom decided to add DLC on Dragon's Dogma discs "at the beginning of the game's development cycle as at the time this was determined to be the most efficient way of ensuring certain content was made available," according to Svensson. "You are being heard," Svensson concludes.

  • Street Fighter X Tekken sales fall short of Capcom expectations, 'cannibalism' blamed

    by

Street Fighter X Tekken may have sold over a million units since launch, but Capcom recently declared that the game didn't hit internal expectations."Sales of Street Fighter X Tekken have fallen short of our plan. We believe one of causes is cannibalism because of the large number of other games in this genre that were launched within a short time," Capcom stated in a Q&A following its earnings release.Although such a quote could be directed at companies like Warner Bros.' Mortal Kombat, Namco Bandai's Soulcalibur 5 or indie titles like Skullgirls, we prefer to imagine Capcom speaking that quote into a mirror. As Eurogamer notes, since bringing back the fighting genre to popular consciousness with Street Fighter 4 in 2008 (consoles in 2009), the company itself has launched: Super Street Fighter 4, Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Street Fighter x Tekken, along with PSN and XBLA re-releases of fighters from its back catalog.

  • Capcom earnings down in fiscal 2012; Monster Hunter Tri-G, Raccoon City, Street Fighter X Tekken sell a million each

    by
    JC Fletcher
    JC Fletcher
    05.07.2012

Capcom's net sales are down 16 percent year over year, for the fiscal year ending March 31. The company brought in 82.1 billion yen (just over $1 billion), with its Consumer Online Games division responsible for 53.5 billion yen of that (23.9 percent lower than that division's performance last year). The performance dip can be attributed to the movement of Dragon's Dogma out of the fiscal year (and into this month), and to outstanding performance of the company's titles last year. Capcom experienced record sales of its big games in fiscal 2011, and fiscal 2012 pales in comparison. Monster Hunter Tri-G, the Japan-exclusive 3DS version, topped the company's sales chart at 1.6 million copies. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City also sold well; Street Fighter X Tekken "lagged" in comparison to expectations, though both it and ORC broke a million. Capcom didn't share sales data for its other releases, Asura's Wrath, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and Resident Evil Revelations, merely acknowledging the games as things that came out.

Come around mid-May, Capcom will drop another update for Street Fighter X Tekken. The highlights include infinite combo fixes for Kazuya, Xiaoyu, Pac-Man and Kuro (so no more of this). The last update, which went live earlier this week, added new gems to the in-game store.Capcom-Unity has the full list of changes.
