The U400 combines a lightweight design with discrete graphics -- something we rarely see -- but its flaky trackpad, crowded keyboard and lack of truly automated graphics switching make it tedious to use.

The Lenovo IdeaPad U400 laptop combines solid performance with a design you won't be able to keep your hands off of.

It's fast enough for most purposes, and you get a larger 14-inch screen. It's a tad pricey for an all-purpose, but you always pay extra for style, and this unit has it in spades.

Laptop Magazine
The 14-inch IdeaPad U400 has a sleek design and discrete graphics, but an over-sensitive touchpad and the lack of an SD card slot dampen our enthusiasm.
