This remote has done the impossible. Somehow, it made turning on the TV nearly impossible. For example, whenever I turn on the TV, it doesn’t turn one of the systems on and everytime I have to go through the help menu to turn on the TV. It’s not that I set it up wrong either. In fact, someone from the company set it up, and it still does not work. Do not buy this product. Zero stars.

Caught the 650 onsale for only $40, so I thought I would give it a shot. I was concerned that it would not be useful in controlling my old JVC AV receiver from 1998. I was wrong! The myharmony setup was easy and had all of my devices in the library - JVC RX-V744, Panasonic TCP-54V10, Oppo BDP-93, Apple TVg3, and Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD DVR box. Being that my old JVC does not have HDMI, the connections for my devices are little odd. Using the myharmony Activites setup for Watch TV, Watch Movie, Watch Apple TV, Listen to Music, and Custom activity works great! The interface was friendly and very intuitive. And knowing I can customize the button functions for each device is great. Although it only allows for 5 devices, thats perfect for me because thats all I have. Very pleased so far. Definitely recommend the Harmony 650!

I bought the 650 after my 555 went after a long and good service, it took quite some abuse before the number 2 didn't work anymore. I would have gone for the same model but it was not for sale anymore. Being so positive about the 555 I had high expectations for a followup device.. since it was newer and more expensive... It is a disappointment; The buttons don't react as well as the 555 and also it doesn't work all the time. The most annoying thing is that the remote reboots very easy when you bump it... which make you go through a setup menu (yes you have to go through it all the way...) Also when something doesn't start and you press help the menu presents you a choice just before the screen goes black... it feels clumsy.. Because I know they can do it right I will give them a bad mark... after a few months of service my number 2 also starts to give trouble so I will replace this one soon enough.. but never this model again...

I replaced a 659 with the 650. The color screen is nice, but kind of pointless if you don't use it for icons. The biggest complaint I've had is when the batteries are JUST lose enough in it's case that it disconnects, turning off completely and forgetting what you were doing. If you move the remote around "roughly" too much, be warned. Could have been designed better for that, but it's only a small complaint.

The 650 is an excellent device that works well and is as good as advertised. I've had no issues with it so far and it is far more comfortable in the hand than the 410 I used before (maybe 420 can't recall). In short it's another great device Harmony device by Logitech. Once you switch over to one of these powerful remotes it's quite difficult to imagine using anything else. Really makes life just a little easier. The only qualm I've had is that for some reason the power button and activity buttons to not illuminate, I don't know why and it is annoying to try to switch activities in the dark. (for example when movie has just ended and you want to switch over to tv, but it's most definitely something I can live with)

This remote works far better than I expected. The Logitech Harmony remotes get such a bad rap. This device was totally worth the money, and it makes my living room experience so much better.

Easy to set up using their web based interface. All of my random components were already on the Harmony site, so, everything went smooth. Great addition to my media system.

A fantastic universal remote for the price it's offered. Easy to set up and start using by configuring it with your computer. It has a sensor in it so it will turn off when it's not being used to save battery life, although if you're willing to shell out a few more bucks, I would suggest the Logitech Harmony One because it includes its own dock/charging station so replacing batteries won't be an issue.

The only thing I do not like about this remote is its really slow with my DirecTV DVR. There is clearly a speed difference when using this remote compared to the factory one. Over time, I think we'll stop using the Harmony remote.
