It doesn’t have the deepest bass we’ve heard from a small speaker, but considering its design we’re impressed.Pocket-Lint100Ultimate Ears UE Boom reviewThe UE Boom is a class act - in fact we're yet to see or hear a better Bluetooth speaker of this size. Perfect for summer park time, winter hide-away time or pretty much any time.Pocket-LintNot RatedHands-on: Ultimate Ears UE Boom reviewPound for pound we reckon the UE walks all over the well-known bass brand though and it's definitely kitted out with plenty more features. While we wouldn’t pick it for raw sound quality over Logitech’s top $150 models ... its considerably smaller size, nicer industrial design, improved battery life and speakerphone functionality are all assets ... to iOS users.TrustedReviews70Ultimate Ears UE Boom reviewA convenient, cool-looking portable Bluetooth speaker that offers superb volume for its small size. However, like most other style-obsessed portable speakers of late, it seems expensive given the sound quality and level of tech sophistication it really brings to the table.GadgetMac90Ultimate Ears UE Boom Reviewif you're looking to spend a bit extra in return for slightly better sound at an extremely attractive package that's also durable, the UE Boom is without a doubt the must have portable speaker at the $200 - to even as high as the $300 price range.

Firstly, do not buy a UE boom. i agree it sounds good when it works. Thousands of customers were left with $200 paper weights after a silly software update. After updating my 40 day old speaker it wouldn't charge again. I really don't want a speaker I have to perform software updates on. It needs to be plugged into the computer. You need to install device driver and a special program to perform the update. Logitechs forums are filled with the same story "my boom won't charge" Their reps blame it on the update. Even though they know it's a massive problem months later still no update. Mine of course being brand new was covered under warranty. After 3 weeks of waiting and calling numerous times, being lied to and being blamed, I finally recieved a shipping label to send mine in. When I got the new speaker back, wrong colour of course, it,is running older software. How can I tell, well one thing the new update allowed, for, was remote power on/off via the iOS app. I'm stuck with really not wanting to update as I know it messes it up. I think 6 months ago people were probably happy with their boom. One look at Logitechs forum and Facebook page and you'll see how terrible their customer service is and how many people have booms that will not charge. I don't have a beats pill (have the headphones), but I know Apple customer service and to me it's worth purchasing a pill over the boom any day. 0/10 for Logitech customer service is being generous.Engadget Reader100April 19, 2015Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback!I ve tested all of the speakers of this kind in an apple store , this one is the best ahead of the famous brands like JBL and Beats . Sound which this speaker produces is rich and powerful . it is weather proof and solid . This is the winner among moderately priced speakers. It is not a compromise - it is a completely satisfying product.Engadget Reader100March 29, 2015Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback!bought this speaker at my job. paid 160 for it after my employee discount, love the sound it delivers. so easy to pair and to use. love the app that can be installed in ios or google play store to control the speaker. it allows you to change the EQ sound settings, as well as power the UE BOOM on and off. it also tells you when an update has been released for the UE BOOM. those of you having issues with the bluetooth connection you need to update your device and it will work fine. i love the battery life, i love the range of 50ft it has i can go to any room with my phone and it works fine. i will be buying another one for even more maximum sound.............. love itEngadget Reader50December 27, 2014Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback!Pros: Volume, sound and battery life. CONS: Evens though this product has 15 hours battery life indicated on the packaging. 10 hours is more realistic depending on volume levels. 2). Speaker CAN NOT stand colder climates (as I live in Canada)... last 45 -60 minutes in the cold. JBL flip 2... last 3 hours in the cold.Engadget Reader80December 22, 2014Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback! There's a lot to like about this in spite of a few flaws. - EngadgetEngadget Reader100October 17, 2014Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback! This speaker sounds better than my desktop speakers. The battery life is INSANE: about 20 hours at ~50% volume and it is so loud that my friends cannot believe the sound is coming out of this thing.hogey7490October 9, 2014Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback!I've had one for 6 months and still love it. I ran this off against the same-priced Bose and decided that the Bose was slightly better sound-wise. I happily went with the Boom though because here is the critical stuff the reviews don't always focus on: The Bose has half the battery, doesn't charge off USB, requires you to carry a proprietary charger around and isn't water/splash proof! The UE Boom goes at least 15 hours, charges off any old USB micro and is built to be heavily splashed, even having rubber plugs for the USB and 3.5mm jacks. I wanted something to use around the house, to carry around town and to take camping and even kayaking. I reckon the Boom could sit in the rain all night and still be fine. If you're after something that stays around the house, the Bose will be fine. I say that, but seriously, if it's for a fixed location, buy something like the Bose 2 way computer speakers for similar money. They completely flog the Bose Soundlink Mini and it's worth the hassle to plug them into the wall and connect them your phone/ipod by cable. I know - I've got two pairs lol. For true portability, durability and the ability to charge anywhere, the Boom wins.Engadget Reader100October 8, 2014Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback!Amazingly powerful and resistant speakers! I love it! I try other ones before but I would definitely recommend those speakers if you are looking to listening to music outside and for a long time! You can pair two devices in the same time which is pretty awesome when you want to switch listening music from one source to the other or let friends put their music. Finally the design is nice!Maybe a little heavy but worth it!Engadget Reader50August 22, 2014Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback!I purchased 2 of the UE Boom speaker to pair them. They would not stay paired. Once Logitech customer service confirmed they were faulty after 6 weeks, they wanted to restart looking at the speakers. The store returned the speaker. Purchased Bose minis.Engadget Reader100August 4, 2014Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback!hell guy's l was after something small for my daughters (14) room and thought I'll take a look at the beats..After buying her a pair of there monster beat headphones for around 400au and all so buying the sennheiser for around 37 au l found the sennheiser was much clearer at full volume in fact the monster beats sounded like tinny crap..So having that experience made my job easy..The beats ( pill )Sound the same! tinny and londness was shocking..l then set my eyes on the UE boom and there it was nice clear crisp loud sound.. l was in the goodguys.com and they had the blue ones marked down $40 less than the black model down too $149.oo from 188.00 Well l did my home work and found it for $129.00 free delivery from http://m.logitechshop.com.au//logitech-ultimate-ears-ue-boom-blue-bluetooth-wireless-speaker-free-delivery.html great write up here tooSo goodguys.com offer 120% of the diffrents which works out $24 dollarsso this little baby could be yours for $125.00 Fantastic buying at this price people..Engadget Reader100April 26, 2014Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback! This is my third portable BT sound box. Far and away the best one I've found in terms of sound and portability. Not only is there a "clean" sound it is the loudest of the bunch. I use the UE Boom when playing golf...it fits perfect in the golf cart cup holder. A must for the golfer who likes to enjoy a few good tunes while playing.Engadget Reader30April 17, 2014Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback! This device delivers good sound in a small package. Where the wheels fall off here is the bluetooth connectivity, which has been buggy and has not functioned properly since day one. Also, the iPhone application, particularly the alarm feature, does not work properly. The next nightmare is dealing with Logitech customer service, who are disorganized, unprofessional and time-consuming. I have called on multiple occasions and promised that a supervisor would call back and so far have received no such call. This is a good product, as long as it works properly and you do not have to deal with customer service.Engadget Reader100January 10, 2014Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback!I have compared this UE Boom to the Bose Sounlink Mini, the closest competitor, and there really is no comparison if you want clarity of mids and highs. The Bose has a muffled sound with its increased bass push. It would be nice if there was more REAL bass, of course, but physics is physics. The updated app for the Boom has a bass boost thing but that does not do anything really so I was tempted to take them down a notch but the other sound reproduction is so great for its size that I left it alone.Engadget Reader100December 30, 2013Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback!Wonderful Warm Sound, Super design (LESS IS MORE), incredible long battery life and easy to transport, use it in the Kitchen, Garage, Garden, Bathroom, on the Beach etc. After 20 Hours playing music in the office the UEBOOM still mentioned to have 50% charge.Absolutely the Best thing I ever bought to produce music in all places where there is no power plug..CMCuyuch100December 24, 2013Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback! This is one of the best devices I have bought for music playback. The Boom is compact, beautiful and practical. The sound quality is excellent, specially when you consider the size of the speaker. The Boom is also LOUD, very loud in fact, so much that you will rarely turn the volume all the way up, except when you need to fill a large space. You can carry it anywhere you want, you only need a bag to toss it and you're ready!Engadget Reader90November 25, 2013Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback!I don't think this speaker could be much better, for what it is. It's very loud. The sound and built quality is comparable to my Bose SoundLink, while being more portable and longer lasting per charge. It just doesn't have quite as much low end to it. Regardless, very clean and clear sounding. Among the best of small bluetooth speakers I have heard in this range of size and better than many which are much larger. The simplicity of the design is A+.acaurora100September 21, 2013Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback! When I was looking for a bluetooth speaker, I had initially looked at the Jambox and the Mini Soundlink II. I didn't want something as big as the Big Jambox or the Beats Boombox, but audio quality did matter. Then I stumbled upon this while browsing Best Buy, and was pleasantly surprised. What struck me most about this speaker was the design. Being cylindrical, it provides wider sound that is easier to hear no matter what direction you are facing it from. In comparison, the other speakers are really only best heard when facing it head-on. Another neat feature is the NFC, which is actually something that it does not advertise - and I would not have noticed if I hadn't done a 5-second glanceover of the manual! The volume controls work great, and so do the power/bluetooth pairing controls. The notifications work great too - providing unique and pleasant tones (drum-like noises) when powering up, down, and pairing. It also has a voice for indicating battery levels by pressing both the + / - buttons. As an aside, there is also the companion app, which adds some value, but not enough for me to really use it. You can customize things like the speaker's name, turn off tones, and set up the stereo mode (should you have two of these, or if a friend has another one, which I doubt). However again I don't believe it is particularly useful. There is an EQ setting, but it seems to only make the audio sound much softer for night mode.In terms of audio quality, it is decent. With the Soundlink II I found the bass to be very favorable - however if it was not sitting on any kind of rubber base, it would vibrate to the point that if I set my phone on top of the Soundlink, I could see my phone slowly vibrating itself off. The Jambox was okay, but again didn't particularly stand out to me. The Boom provides a good balance of the two. It does seem to have a bit more bass than the Jambox, but there are times I do wish it had more. The sound overall is generally good and pleasant - enough for me to keep it.Engadget Reader90July 23, 2013Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback! The best in its category.
