I liked this phone for the pop-culture reference, but it became very quickly outdated. I don't use it anymore but I still have it, if only for the sake of nostalgia.

My Droid lasted a solid year of being abused and dropped, but the screen never scratched. Don't get me wrong, the body had tons of dents and scratches, but I never had a problem with the screen. It was a rather big phone, and the keyboard started sticking after about 5 months, but I would highly recommend this to anyone whose looking for a keyboard slider and is willing to cope with only having Gingerbread.

I only used this phone for a few months. After I cracked the screen on the original Droid I decided to put my insurance to work and they sent me a Droid 2. It looks about the same... they made a few changes to the home row and changed the slide out keyboard (which I never got used to... but it definitely felt better on the fingers). The one thing I REALLY enjoyed about this phone was that it was clearly more powerful than it's predecessor so it gave me a taste of what I had been missing by sticking with the same phone for so long (no regrets). For whatever reason, this phone was (is) buggy. It would reboot itself randomly, crashed at random times (forcing me to pull the battery out to reset it)... for a period of almost a week I couldn't use the keyboard because pressing certain keys caused the phone to load up apps (the apps that were loaded were consistent). It was running the same apps as my prior Droid. I talked to a friend who is a customer service person at Verizon that deals with escalation and was told that these issues were common with the phone and even gave me a short list of other issues I should look forward to. I wouldn't recommend this phone just based on the bugs. Everything else is good. Thankfully, this phone is part of the cellphones-of-the-past group now.

I have the Droid 2 R2D2 Special Edition and I couldnt love it anymore than I already do. I purchased it used from eBay after realizing that I wanted more option than my previos iPhone and WP7 device. This was perfect. Decent specs, great call quality, tons of apps, and the number of comments I receive on the R2D2 case have made this phone worth the purchase!

A forgettable product. It isn't bad, exactly, but also doesn't do anything particularly well. - Engadget
