Just some other thoughts:I like the phone, but I wasn't blown away. At the end of the day, it meets my expectations for a good smartphone. For the most part, it's a very snappy phone, but I've experienced times where the phone was sluggish when just navigating around the phone. The camera is pretty decent. A lot better than any camera phone I've had in the past, but it's not quite up there with a normal point and shoot (which is perfectly understandable).I really hate that it has preinstalled software that I can't uninstall. I don't mind have it preinstalled, but if I want to take the blockbuster app off my phone, I should be able to. Another thing that's annoying is that apps run in the background for no logical reason. I never use the Music app, but for some reason it still shows up in my task manager. I don't like how there are huge padding between icons on the home screens. I feel like they could've fit in an additional row without it looking too cramped. The Swype keyboard is really awesome. It takes some time to get used to, but once you get comfortable, it's really hard to go back to the normal keyboard. I'd say I'm faster with the multi-touch keyboard, but more accurate with Swype. I'd rather be more accurate personally.UPDATE 1------------------I'm deducting a point from the Droid X because I've been experiencing a TON of freezing issues. This happens when I start typing, switching homescreens, opening apps, even unlocking the device. It's really a frustrating experience.UPDATE 2------------------I've owned this for about 8 months now and I now have another issue with the headphone jack. It seems like the plug itself is loose and causes the contacts on the inside to separate when you have a headphone in. It feels like there's a little bit of wiggle room in there. The problem is when you're listening to something, if it wiggles, the audio will pause because it thinks the headphone cord got pulled out. Super annoying. I'm hesitant to try to get a replacement because I know it'll be a refurb unit and aside from this headphone thing, my phone is in near perfect condition. It's times like these where I envy the Apple customer service because I have a feeling iPhone users would get a brand new phone in this type of situation.UPDATE 3------------------I've put a custom rom on the phone, Liberty rom, and it definitely brings my rating of the phone up to an 8 or a 9. It's much snappier. from swiping through screens to launching the camera app. I'm not going to change my official rating because this is not stock, but I'd say if you're adventurous and want to get another year out of your Droid X, Liberty rom is the way to go. I was itching to upgrade to something like the Galaxy Nexus, but now I'm pretty content with my phone.
