Engadget Review

Other devices might have a slight performance edge over the new Moto X, but the Pure Edition still manages to feel like the most elegant of the cheap-good smartphones we've seen this year. Among other things, we appreciate its stylish, customizable design, much-improved camera, expandable memory and, just as important, its near-stock version of Android and Motorola's useful software add-ons.

  • Greatly improved camera
  • Thoughtful Moto software tricks
  • Expandable memory
  • Works on every US carrier
Cons
  • Fast, but not quite asfast as some of itsrivals
  • Mediocre battery life
  • Camera still isn't great in low light

Moto X Pure is one nice phone. Front firing stereo speakers combined with 5.7 in. Display create a good platform for media consumption. Moto actions allow the phone to stand out from the rest. The phone has held up quite well over the two years I've owned it. Concerns of the phone in 2018: • Battery is not the greatest, but still holding well for two years on it. • OS | Apps tend to lag slight & the phone can hang for seconds, which I've heard can be be caused by 7.1 Nougat. In conclusion, I must say that I'm overall still pleased with the phone.

It's more stylish than usual, but Moto didn't skimp on the substance.
