Engadget Review

The Moto X hits a sweet spot with its user-friendly, always-on software features. At $199, though, it's priced a bit too high for a mid-range phone.

#MotorolaCheatsMotorola Customer Service Centre Refused to repair within warranty periodI had bought MotoX 1st Gen mobile phone 3 months back. It suddenly stopped displaying anything on my screen. It is to note that I had not dropped it. In other words, there is no physical damage. You can also verify the same in attached actual image of my mobile.I visited Motorola customer service centre. As expected(In case of any problem they will change either motherboard or display), they said its display has problem and it will cost me Rs.12500. Over that they will not give me any written proof about mobile diagnosis saying that Motorola said so. The other guy asks for some sort of certificate from service centre about the problem. But the service centre guy won't give any proof(It is obvious otherwise they will be exposed for looting the customers).Thanks.Adarsh K.

Really liked this phone until I made the mistake of letting the battery die completely. Particularity liked the Motorola Connect and Motorola Voice recognition features that worked on top of Google's voice recognition. Also liked the Chrome integration via add-on Read through a myriad of forums and worked with Motorola's technical support to try and get phone to charge. After reading through forums it's clear this is a bug and several owners have dead unusable phones because of this issue. I won't buy another Motorola product or a phone that doesn't have a replaceable battery ever again. Simply put can't stand behind a product that doesn't last longer that two years (barley a year in this case) nor a company that won't back up a product for that same time frame. Nice while it lasted though.

I've had the Moto-X on AT&T for about 6 months now. Battery life is still great, rarely need to charge before going to bed. Performance is great, still as fast as the day I got it. My previous phones were the T-Mobile G1, VZW Motorola Droid and VZW Droid 4. This is definitely the best phone I've used thus far and love the stock android experience.

Coming from the Nexus 4, the things I appreciate the most is the Active Display, Always-listening function, and battery life. My Moto X lasts twice as long easily, and doesn't ever get hot, even while using the GPS & Bluetooth in the car. The active display is incredibly useful, and the hands-free controls are very useful.

Worst purchase I ever made, I regretted it from day one. I hate the android os so I installed an iPhone launcher. Mistake. Nothing worked the way it should and all the "stock" apps came with ads every 15 seconds. Switched to Google launcher. Still bad but use able. Came with broken charging brick, where is the quality control? We have a plethora of bricks so I moved on. All the alarms and ringtones and everything disappeared one day, had to download a separate app to hear and select ringtones. Battery life sucks almost constantly has to be plugged in. Where I bought it it came with a Motorola battery pack that was supposed to be able to fully charge the phone and then some. Even that failed miserably. Can't even charge it once. The phone itself is too big and and to get to an app or press a link in the upper corners it falls out of your hand . switching from screen to screen makes the wallpaper shift with it, very annoying, don't even get me started on these "live wallpapers". Buttons are too small and for some reason they put the mic button right next to the space bar, I can't even count how many times I try to hit space and the mic comes on. A lot of times when I'm typing the emoji keyboard pops up out of nowhere. Auto correct on this thing is horrible. Doesn't receive or send pictures half the time even when connected to WiFi. Also, who the hells idea was it to put the home screen in the middle of the other screens? Somehow it keeps getting messages from Texas/louisanna which never happened before. Today it just decided to switch my number on me mid conversation and had to enter a secret code in order to reset it. For some reason I got the 16gb version which was a mistake. I have flash drives with more memory than this thing. I've had this phone for 4 months and its been headaches and problems and anger at it ever since. My old iPhone 4 blows this piece of crap out of the water in every single way. I can't wait to get rid of this thing and go back to a phone that actually works. In summary: save yourself the money and hassle, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.
