A forgettable product. It isn't bad, exactly, but also doesn't do anything particularly well. - Engadget

Despite the calculated 7 rating by gdgt's criteria, I rate this about a 4. It would have been higher, and probably was prior to the Ice Cream Sandwich "upgrade" that made this phone just a bear to work with. Certain apps - like my favorite podcasting app - lock up when you try to play a game. The screen freezes pretty regularly leaving me waiting to be able to use the phone. Reboots are sometimes necessary. I really liked the phone when I first got it, despite the BS TouchWiz skin and tons of bloatware. The upgrade process using Samsung Keyes wannabe iTunes (why would any app want to be iTunes?) nonsense was a pain too. The Galaxy line probably seems like the greatest thing on Earth to the average user; but I've learned my lesson as a "power user" - Nexus phones only until someone else makes an honest android phone. On a side note, I really wish gdgt had a criteria for performance here.

Had a white S2. Bad of Samsung / T-Mobile not to include an headphone in the package to begin with like the black unit. Bad battery life... great display

Overall this is the best phone I have owned. Of course that's not saying much upgrading from the HD2 running Windows Mobile 6.5. The only thing keeping me from going to the iPhone is its inadequate screen size. Having used the Apple interface which is 2nd to none in my opinion, The Samsung Galaxy S 2 does indeed give the iPhone a run for its money. I consume a lot of media and this phone delivers and performs very well even with its humble 1.5 dual core Snapdragon Qualcom processor as compared to the other GS2 processors on other carriers. What I'm still trying to figure out is why I keep choosing the red headed stepchild of Mobile tech. This phone still rocks. Even as I cast a longing glance at the Galaxy Note, I will remain content with my Galaxy S 2 until my contract is up.
