[Update -- Apparently, Amazon can run out of stock, but they replenish throughout the day. Keep checking back a little later if you don't see the $9.99 deal!]The winner of last year's PSP Fanboy's Game of the Year award was Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow. The game still goes for almost $40 in most places, but now Amazon has copies of them on sale for $9.99. The complex storyline, orchestral soundtrack, excellent controls and lush graphics made it an instant classic on the PSP. At this price, you can't afford not to give it a try. 10.01.2008

The critically-acclaimed strategy RPG Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness is going for $14.90 + $3.40 = $18.30 over at Play-Asia.com. Most places still have the game for $29.99. Be aware that while this is not the US version of the title, this Asia version has English text and menus and otherwise identical to the US release. Take advantage of this deal here. Another RPG from NIS, Dragoneer's Aria, is also $18.30. The game was released last year in the US and received average to negative reviews, so we might want to skip this one unless you really love RPGs. The Asia version (which is again, identical to the US version) is finally coming out October 2nd of this year, and you can preorder it here. [Via PSPHyper]

DualShock 3 controllers are currently on sale at Amazon -- you can snatch one up right now for $40.96 with free shipping. That's more than $14 off the MSRP of $54.99. Take advantage of this deal here now.$40.96 still a bit steep for you? Amazon also has third-party Nyko controllers for sale. They contain the vibration function and SIXAXIS just like a regular DualShock 3, though they are considerably less sexy. But at $14.98, you gotta make some sacrifices. It looks like they only have a certain number of the controllers for sale at this price, so hurry up if you are interested. The deal you want is right here.[Via Slickdeals and thanks to Joshua M.!]

It's okay, because they are offering the same deal again: twenty clams for a Memory Stick that will store 4GB worth of whatever you want on it. Though this will be sufficient for most user's demands, you may still find yourself needing more storage. At this price, you can afford to buy more than one. Take advantage of this deal here. • Deal of the Day: Blu-ray movies at 50% off MSRP

    08.23.2008

Blu-ray sales aren't what they used to be before the format war ended. so we'll take what we can get. Amazon is having their Blu-ray 50% sale -- a selection of Blu-ray videos are 50% or more off MSRP. This might sound an awesome deal, but keep in mind Blu-ray prices on Amazon are usually already reduced around 20%. The above is an example of a decent deal: recent release Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is less than $20. Another good aspect of the deal is that it allows you to be more flexible, as it isn't a Buy 2 Get 1 Sale where you must purchase discs in multiples. Check out the rest of the selections here.

  • Dragon Quest Swords gets a slimey sale

    07.25.2008

Most reviewers rank Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors as mediocre, but $17 sounds like a fair price for the game. If you happen to agree (and can buy games from Amazon.com), you should probably hit up Amazon's "Deal of the Day." The battle system might take you to "Waggle City" and the story might fall a little flat, but cheap prices tend to make up for these things. Then again, the price of Dragon Quest Swords has been dropping steadily at Amazon for a while now, and might even go lower in the near future. Unfortunately, we're too busy to get into our time machines and check.

    07.24.2008

Not quite as good as the deal offered beforeThought the previous deal of $42 plus shipping is good? How about $43.99 including shipping for a DualShock 3 controller? Considering it retails for $55, this is pretty awesome. Besides, most games just ain't the same without that rumblin' action going on, catch our drift? Head over to buy.com now for this deal. Update: Get an additional 5% off with this coupon.[Thanks, Goonchy and Jason!]

  • Amazon lets loose a Blizzard of bargains today

    by

At this point, we work under the assumption that there are probably very few people reading this blog that haven't had the pleasure of playing a Blizzard game from start to finish. But even if through some extraordinary happenstance, there was somebody out there who hadn't played World of Warcraft, there's s chance that they haven't yet had the opportunity to play some of the other Blizzard classics. Though Diablo 3 didn't turn out to be an MMO as we'd hoped, its progenitors are still fantastic games to have on call in the odd occasion that your internet goes down. That's why we recommend that you take a peek over at Amazon today, as they'll have 5 of the latest Blizzard games on sale today through their Deal of the Day and Lightning Deal promotions. The WoW Battlechest (which includes the original game, Burning Crusade, and a guide) will be up all day, but the Diablo Battlechest, the Burning Crusade expansion, the Warcraft III Battlechest, and Warcraft III proper will be on sale for a limited time and in limited quantities. You can't beat that with a stick.[Via Cheap Ass Gamer]

    07.22.2008

Those of you who were on the fence about the Soulcalibur Limited Edition Fighting Stick 3 by Hori last month might want to reconsider the peripheral again: the price has been reduced $8 to $41.99. Not too bad for a newly released product. We are aware there are some higher-end fighting sticks around, but at this price range, this particular one is unbeatable. With Soulcalibur IV arriving in stores a week from today, order one now and you might just have it ready when you bring the game home.[Via CAG]

  • Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sales

Not all of us are up to the challenge of a brutal roguelike, and that's okay. In fact, that's what roguelike-lights such as Pokémon Mystery Dungeon are for. Just because said games don't beat your spirit to a pulp, though, doesn't mean they're not enjoyable, especially for Pokémaniacs. Today's a good time to become an explorer of time or darkness, as both Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness are being offered as Amazon's deal of the day. Each one is currently on sale for $22.99, and will be until 12:00am PDT. Yet, if you're not familiar with the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series, you might want to check out our review of the game (well, games) first.

  • Get a Wii gun shell for only a few times its worth

    07.18.2008

Want a Zapper-type gun shell for your Wiimote but don't want to overpay for what basically amounts to a handle? Well ... you're basically out of luck. But if you want to overpay somewhat less than the usual too-high price, Amazon.com is offering CTA Digital's Wii Magnum Gun, a Perfect Shot ripoff, for $8.99 as their Deal of the Day.If you're concerned about the quality of this plastic gun shell versus other plastic gun shells, just remember: seriously, it's a piece of plastic, and probably does just as good a job of being that as any other piece of plastic. Don't think our dismissal of their complexity means we don't recommend a gun shell; anything that gets you playing Ghost Squad is a good thing.

    07.15.2008

We certainly wouldn't classify this under one of the best deals we've shared, but Amazon is currently having a buy-2-get-1-free sale on selected Blu-ray discs. Nevertheless, there are some films in this selection we haven't seen on sale before. Full list of titles on sale is available here. A couple that we enjoyed (based on the quality of the film) after the jump: [Thanks, Alex!]

    07.14.2008

[Update: Apparently, this deal seems to have finished.]It seems like it's the same ol' movies we are used to seeing in previous deals, but Amazon is offering you a chance to own two Blu-ray discs for $30. Don't get us wrong, there are some good flicks in this selection, but if you wanted them you probably have them already. Obviously, don't order two movies that total less than $30, as you won't be saving any money. Full list after the jump:

Those of who were hesitating about Assassin's Creed may want to take a plunge with this deal, which takes 50% off the retail price of the game and includes free shipping. A look around shows the PS3 version of the game is still retailing for around $60 at online retailers. We've had the exact same deal before, so those of you who cursed the heavens when you missed it the first time around is getting a second chance.[Thanks, Chris!]
