There are a few ways to make sure you get noticed here on Xbox 360 Fanboys. One of those ways is to show your love for Castle Crashers. This Forza 2 car was sent to us by Anton Ernst (Gamertag: xXxADRENALiNxXx). The car features Sir Gawain and the Green Knight from Castle Crashers and we just love it. The boys at The Behemoth would be proud. We've added it and a handful of other new cars to our Forza 2 custom car gallery. Go check 'em out. Don't forget, you can submit yours by sending us a tip. We'll add more to the gallery periodically, so keep your eyes peeled for our next addition.%Gallery-3640%

  • Ring of death inspires Forza 2 artwork

Another Forza 2 customized paint job arrived in our inbox today and we thought its inspiration was noteworthy. Some of us (including me) have experienced the dreaded red lights and have had to deal with Microsoft's semi-helpful customer service to send off a broken 360. CoolNumber9 is having the same red ring of death problems and has been using the "towel trick" to keep it running long enough to make a ring of death inspired Forza 2 car. It may not be the most badass ride on the block, but anyone who has had to deal with the red lights will shudder when they see this beast in their rear view mirror. Long live die the ring of death! And as always, send us your custom Forza 2 creations so we can add them to our lovely gallery below.%Gallery-3640%

  • Forza 2 custom cars make their way to eBay

We've mentioned more than once that we're damned impressed with all the Forza Motorsport 2 custom cars out there (especially this one), but we're not sure if we'd be willing to actually pay for one. You know, with real money. It looks like custom Forza cars have begun to hit eBay. Honestly, we're surprised we didn't see this coming. So far we've found three different auctions for various cars, all priced at $10. These don't have the meticulous custom paint jobs we've seen, so we're guessing they're tuned more for performance. One seller is even creating his cars with individual numbers, hoping to make them collector's items. Our question to you: would you pay real money for the ultimate Forza car?[Thanks, IncredibleBulk92]

Xbox 360 Fanboy reader and Forza 2 aficionado Spinthelights sent us a couple shots of two very nice X3F themed cars. The level of detail is pretty astounding, as they mirror the logos and banners of the main site with remarkable accuracy. Also, this is a perfect time to start up a gallery of user submitted Forza 2 cars. They don't have to have our logo plastered across the hood, but we appreciate the effort fellow fanboys put into letting everyone know which site they go to for all their Xbox 360 news. Do you have any cool Forza 2 cars, send us your works of art either in the comments, or in a tip.[Thanks, Spinthelights] %Gallery-3640%

Forza 2 isn't even a week old and players have already unleashed some killer custom paint jobs for their rides. A slick iPod theme, several anime-inspired cars along with South Park, Jack Sparrow, and a little game you might have heard of called Gears of War. Readers at Xbox 360 Fanboy have chimed in with their own works as well, proving once again that videogames don't kill brain cells, people kill brain cells.[Via Xbox 360 Fanboy]

  • Forza 2 racing wheel tuning possible through DiRT

    by

    05.27.2007

Over on the Forza Motorsport 2 forums members are investigating a way to change the 360 racing wheel's force feedback in the Forza 2 demo. Currently, the Forza 2 demo does not allow customizable racing wheel options, but the Colin McRae DiRT demo does allowing players to change various settings. And, as such, some forum members are reporting that the DiRT demo's force feedback settings magically transfer over to the Forza 2 demo. So, if you're feeling the need for more force feedback in Forza 2, fire up DiRT, customize your racing wheel options and see if it helps your Forza 2 demo situation. Although, all this confusion could be avoided if Microsoft would integrate some sort of racing wheel options menu through the dash. You hear us Microsoft? [Thanks, thermodynamic]

As Forza Motorsport 2 heads to retailers on May 29, Microsoft has slashed slightly reduced the price of the Wireless Racing Wheel to $129.99 (normally $149.99). Yes, for the price of a DS Lite, you can experience true force feedback in your favorite racing titles. There are plenty of other special events planned around the release of Forza 2, including Xbox Live contests, developer play sessions, and a leaderboard tournament. So, with a marginally reduced price, is anyone out there ready to take the plunge and pick up the wheel?[Via Joystiq]

  • EA smashing cars in next Need for Speed

    05.21.2007

Now would be the ideal time to compare EA to The Incredible Hulk in one of your slightly aloof forum debates on the death of innovation in the gaming industry. If there's one thing the gigantic publisher and mass churner is saying in the above video, it's "EA SMASH!" The teaser seems to indicate that the next Need for Speed title (no platform specified) will feature extravagant damage modeling, as well as an array of enormous balloons -- the former is likely the one EA intended to highlight. Car damage would be a logical addition to the franchise in its current state, though if it wasn't for the Need for Speed branding in the trailer, we might have gotten it confused with EA's other smashing success, Burnout. We'll find out more on May 31st.

  • Seriously, Project Gotham Racing 3 is not a PS3 game

    by

    05.18.2007

Alright, this is getting ridiculous. For the third time in almost as many months, a sports model from Project Gotham Racing 3 has becoming an unwitting spokesmodel for Sony's PlayStation 3. Having already been mistaken for Gran Turismo HD and used to promote the PS3 in a KIA ad, Microsoft's exotic car racer now finds itself inside Dutch magazine, Mediamarkt, as posted in the Bizarre Creations forums. The depicted Saleen has likely been in those pages before... just not in an article discussing the PlayStation 3's future. Is this indicative of some deeply rooted desire for a multiplatform excursion for the series? Perhaps it's some subtle commentary on the lack of distinguishing features in the racing genre? We'll ponder these questions and more once we've finished our race in the Forizmo demo. Or whatever.[Thanks, v]

In a politely worded e-mail, Microsoft has announced that seriously simmy sequel, Forza Motorsport 2, has at last gone gold. Having hit Ctrl+S for the final time, the team at Turn 10 Studios has sent the finished code off to the disc pressers, shortly before collapsing into a nearby and distinctly unhygienic pool of blood, sweat and oil.A demo of Forza 2 is currently available on the Xbox Live Marketplace and the full game can be expected to arrive on 29 May. UK retailers currently list a June 8th release date for those that enjoy driving on the wrong side of the road. [Via Microsoft press release]

Just in time for you to bone up for next semester's driver's ed. class, 691MB of Forza Motorsport 2 demo love have arrived on Xbox Live for your downloading pleasure. We know the demo includes 24 cars selected from several different classes; in fact, community manager Che Chou has already revealed 16 of them, like the 2005 Subaru Legacy B4 2.0 GT and the 2005 TVR Sagaris. The other eight will be a mystery until the demo reaches your hard drive. We're not really what you'd call "car experts" but we're hoping for the 1997 Fastest Car, a 2003 Vroom Vroom Rocket or KITT.Microsoft has limited the customization options for the demo and and the game isn't sporting any of its Xbox Live features. But if you're eager for a taste of what Forza 2 will have in store , there are many worse ways to spend your zero dollars.

The big Forza 2 demo news is out. Turn 10 community manager Che Chou has revealed that the Forza 2 demo should hit Xbox Live Marketplace sometime tonight. It sounds like the demo will show up fairly late in the day, as Che notes that "it'll be pretty painful for east coasters." We know that everyone is itching to get their hands on Forza 2, and now we'll have the chance. So, who's staying up late to grab this?[Via 1PStart. Thanks, marklar]

The clamor for the Forza 2 demo is reaching herculean heights these days. Quite simply, racing fans are frothing for the game, and understandably so. Take heart, Forza fanatics, for new information is upon us. In a recent forum post, Turn 10 community manager, Che Chou, has revealed that "good news" about the demo should be revealed sometime today. He adds, "It's coming sooner than you think." Dare we dream that we'll see the demo this week? Perhaps even ... today?

While waiting for a certain demo to drop we advise giving the Forza 2 achievements a look over. Over at Achieve360Points they posted a complete list of all 44 in all their glory, including four secretly secret achievements. And we must say, our favorites have to be the "All Cars From" achievements for France, Korea and Spain. Those achievements are only worth one little gamerscore point ... we guess foreign cars aren't cool enough to have a normal amount of gamerscore points. Though, we have mad respect for the "All Cars From Sweden" achievement, they must have lobbied hard for their gamerscore worth.[Thanks, DjDATZ]

  • Greenwalt: Forza 2 may make you a better driver

    by

    05.04.2007

We really wish videogame companies would unify their message. First we're told that crashing is awesome, and now Forza 2 lead designer Dan Greenawalt is telling CVG that his game is driver's ed. on a disc! Well, actually, he said that "things you learn in Forza Motorsport apply in the real world," but that's practically the same thing. Greenwalt explains, saying that there are some videogame conventions that would have your family clipping coupons for Casket Town if you tried them in reality. "They learn that if you're at the edge of traction and you brake, you'll get more turning," Greenwalt said. "Well, that's just not true, and it'll get you killed on a track."As a result of our completely non-court-orded house arrest (we just loved Disturbia) we're unable to test Greenwalt's assertions. But that also means we're without an answer to the big question: Will games turn us into "Machine Gun" Joe Viterbo or Hoke Colburn? No matter what you think the answer is, let's just keep it between us, shall we? We don't need any attorneys-at-lawl getting any bright ideas.

  • It's a custom triple screen Forza 2 setup

    by

    04.30.2007

Team 10's own audio test lead Joel Robinson is a huge Forza fan (rightfully so, he did help create the game) and in preparation Forza 2's release he created one expensive gaming setup. As you can see above, Joel hooked up three 40" 720p screens creating an immersive racing cockpit view featuring a full 180 degree view. Not only that, but he also installed a racing seat with butt-kickers, a 5.1 surround system, and mounted the 360 force feedback steering wheel and pedals. Yes, his gaming setup is a little messy right now, but he promises to clean it up and add a few final touches. But we highly doubt you'll notice the clutter when you have your eyes glued to the three screens racing it out in Forza 2. Isn't life grand?[Thanks, SRU Phil]

  • Final Forza 2 car list rev-vealed, headline writer shot

A just punishment for such a terrible mangling of words, not to mention the trickery of "Final Forza 2" leading people to believe that Microsoft was releasing a bizarre automotive RPG, complete with mutant mechanics and bottles of restorative oil. No, the relevant game is Forza 2, simmy sequel to 2005's foray into car customization, reckless racing and all-round Gran Turismo-ing. The official Forza Motorsport 2 website has unveiled the full list of cars to be included in the final game when it screeches into stores this May. Numbering 310 and representing enough reflective metal to burn holes through the back of your head, the list of cars is sure to please fans unsatisfied by the forthcoming demo's comparatively meager offering of 24 vehicles. It's noted that seven of the 310 cars have been deemed "special," with some only being available to pre-order deals and the game's collectors edition. The "controversial unicorn cars" will also be exclusively available for a limited time in the game's online auction house. Racing enthusiasts are encouraged to look, use the Forza page and inspect the list closely as they attempt to answer the question, "Is there vroom for improvement?" Update: Article author shot as well.[Via Xbox 360 Fanboy]
