But Xbox 360 Fanboy needs your help. For every positive (like the HD Beat flickr group), there is an equal and horrifyingly opposing negative. This weekend they are running a contest to find out who has the most pathetic Xbox 360 gaming setup in all the land, and uh, some of these are pretty pathetic. Sweet 720p videogame loving should never be found in what appears to be a laundry room.Go, vote, and then thank your lucky stars that you have not found youself in such a pitiable position.

  • Game Seminar creations get downloadable release dates

Last month we told of the Nintendo Game Seminar that would result in the release of 4 downloadable games in Japan this month and fashionably late to the party is the information on these games and when they're releasing over in Japan. The first two games, which will be available in the next 2 weeks, are Nekosogi Toruneedo (Nekosogi Tornado), and KuruKeshi (Rotate and Erase). The first game focuses on the player grabbing items in the street and tossing them skyward to eliminate enemies falling to the ground. The second title is a puzzle game which tasks the player with creating triangles of the same color in order to eliminate them from the screen.Releasing in early May, the other two titles are bioum (which stands for bioform birth) and Chii to Fuu no Oishii Ehon (Chii and Fuu's Delicious Picturebook). The first title allows the player to draw life forms which multiply inside the DS to create ecosystems, while Chii and Fuu's Delicious Picturebook gives the player the chance to collect ingredients in the hope of making a scrumptious pancake. Snapshots of the games are available after the jump.We just hope that Nintendo brings this outside of Japan so that we may get a chance at making a game on the DS. What kind of game would you make?

  • Playstation 3 price: 500 euros ($600 U.S.)

That's what a few French websites are reporting, apparently stated by Sony Europe boss George Fornay in a radio interview. That would convert to roughly $613 American dollars and make the PS3 the most expensive videogame console out by quite a bit. He apparently confirmed that the Playstation was delayed to work out Blu-ray copy protection issues (that we still haven't seen a final design for the controller, system or a finished game does not appear to have been a contributing factor), and that it should launch in the range of 499 to 599 euros. He justified the high price by saying it was cheap for a platform capable of reading Blu-ray discs. With no confirmation or official announcement from Sony U.S. or Japan this is still in rumor territory, but its a little late for an April Fools. Their main competitor, the Xbox 360 Premium system, launched at 399 euros. Well, I guess we'll ask you again, is around $600 your price for PS3 Blu-ray? Personally, I'm not buying one until they announce a Bob Ross videogame.Previous Playstation 3 price news: Playstation 3: Coming to North America (and the world) in 2006 Playstation 3 price rumors: $599 for Blu-ray movies?

  • Half-Life 2 running on a Mac... and there goes a flying pig

The moment that many Mac gamers have been waiting for has arrived: Half-Life 2 is playable in at least one way, shape or form on a Macintosh computer. The video shows a MacBook Pro booting Windows XP, opening Steam and running HL2 in what appears to be software mode. Full 3D acceleration is still a while off (the hackers have only just managed to get the Mac mini's integrated graphics chip to work, albeit very flakily) but hopefully it won't be long until ATI or another enthusiastic Mac gamer/hacker steps up to the task of providing dual platform video drivers for Intel Macs.[Thanks, Jay. • Inside the game: La Fuga

"I just fought my way up a wind tunnel, scrambled through a ventilation duct, clambered across 40 yards of rope netting, rolled under a fence, and burrowed through a mass of grapefruit-sized plastic spheres. Now I'm facing two doors. One leads to freedom. The other to a room with something nasty in it, possibly involving torture."The author of this piece isn't playing a console or PC game--he's playing Negoné's La Fuga ('The Escape') for real. Based in Madrid, the game combines an obstacle course, puzzles and interactive storytelling to break the fourth wall, creating a real-world game that realises many video game concepts. It sounds exciting and inventive; if Spain is too far away, then the game will be coming to Manhattan next year. However, immersive gaming may prove too specialised--sometimes we like to be in the comfort of our own living rooms, knowing that ingame bruises are only temporary, with the ability to pause it all and have a cup of tea when we feel like it.[Via /.]

  • "I believe I can fly!" GRAW glitch

Nope, this ain't a "R. Kelly just spawned as an enemy combatant" kinda glitch, this is the kind of glitch that gets right on our tits*. Christie sent us this link to a YouTube video showing a glitch that affects gameplay whilst prone on night maps in Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter. Also having experienced this bug we tried to reason with Major Scott Mitchell, telling him it was physically impossible to attempt to fly from a prone position, but he kept trying anyway. On a more serious note, this is a pretty blatant bug that should easily have been spotted by the QA (quality assurance) guys. SRSLY? Did not one of the testers go prone on a night level?* From the dictionary of slang - get on one's tits: To annoy, to get on one's nerves. The 'tits' in the phrase are metaphorical hence the idiom is used by both sexes. E.g."GRAW's glitch really gets on my tits."[Thanks, Christie Arnold. Random photo courtesy of Glasgow Survival]

This is a game I've been waiting for since the impressive demo Sony used to advertise their PS3 at E3 last year, and EA's Fight Night Round 3 has not failed to impress. Every bone cracking punch, every drop of sweat and blood, almost every boxer you could ever want to fight is ready in glistening 720p. If you were waiting for the "next generation" feeling to hit you, put your gloves on and find your mouthguard because it is here.

  • Enigmo 2 trailer, demo released

For those unfamiliar, Enigmo is a really slick, unique puzzle game from Pangea Software that's been around for a few years now. The game's description at Apple's download site is a good summary of what you're up against: "A 3D puzzle game where you construct mechanisms to direct lasers, plasma, and water to toggle switches, deactivate force-fields, and eventually get them to their final destination."Pangea Software has released what looks like a great sequel, Enigmo 2 - and I'm downloading a demo as I write this. The new version "takes the concept to a whole new dimension with much more complex environments and all-new devices," and from the screenshots at Pangea Software's site, I don't think they're kidding around. To get an idea of how the game works, check out the trailer Apple has posted. While the first Enigmo ran on both Mac OS 9 and X, Enigmo 2 is a universal binary and exclusive to OS X. I don't know how long the demo is good for, but a full license will run you $29.95.[via IMG]

Digital Hollywood Conference  is the place where the various companies that bring us much of the content we'll be experiencing on our HDTVs, cell phones, game consoles, and iPods get together and talk about the best ways to do it.  Your next home server-mediacenter-xbox720-ps4-RSS parser-cell phone-breadmaker?  Yeah they've got that.  You can watch for updates here, as well as via a live blog of the event if you're interested (and we know you are) and a podcast; although several companies have already made notable announcements, and we'll keep you updated as it progresses.I'll be keeping a definite eye out for information from today's "Transforming Television" seminar, because HDTV, PVR, OnDemand and Interactive TV all touch me in my special place.  Also at the conference will be our own Shawn Gold, speaking on Alternative Media & Advertising: Personalized Consumer Broadband, RSS Feeds, Blogging and Podcasting
