GameKiss made some waves yesterday by announcing its new title GhostX Ultimate. What makes it worthy of the "ultimate" moniker, you ask? GameKiss is hoping you'll jump into the game and find out for yourself, and they've sweetened the pot with a gift code. The team at GameKiss has given Massively a gift code to pass along to 75 of our readers. The code grants a VIP rookie package containing nanobot starter materials, double XP coupons, and some special equipment at levels 1, 7, and 15. To get a gift code, simply go to Shopping Town in the game, find the Gift Giver, and enter code MMORPG2436. The code will work for the first 75 people to apply it, so check out GhostX Ultimate with your new goodies, and have fun!

If you've never heard of GameKiss, you're not alone. The company hopes to change that, though, and the first step toward raising its profile is a new MMO called GhostX Ultimate. GameKiss says that the title "delivers a stand-out gameplay experience for gamers with an appetite for a completely different kind of adventure," and that it's unique in "a sea of repetitively-themed MMORPG games." Bold claims, to be sure, but how exactly does GhostX come by its uniqueness? For one thing, there are no classes or jobs. Instead, players develop their own catalogue of nanobot weapons that can instantly change an avatar's combat abilities from melee to short- or long-range styles. GameKiss's latest press release also says that GhostX has a "real storyline," and you can learn more about that, and download the free-to-play title, at the official website.

There are quite a few side-scrolling action MMOs out there these days, so when I decided to take on yet another one, I thought that I might regret it. As soon as I downloaded GhostX and loaded it up, however, I knew I was in for a different experience than anything found in the other side-scrollers I have played in the past. First of all, GhostX is set in some kind of futuristic setting, complete with nanobots and strange mutant creatures. The look of the game is distinctively Anime, but the good kind. When I think Anime, I think incredibly bad creations like Naruto or Pokemon -- stuff that literally makes me cringe. GhostX is the kind that just looks like a toy, like you could reach through the screen and manipulate the characters and story yourself. Click past the cut to read more!

  • NIDA Online shutting down tomorrow

In what must be one of the fastest closures we've heard about, it would appear that GameKiss has decided to shut down their "action MMO" Nida Online tomorrow -- just short of 8 months after it launched into open beta. While they don't give specifics as to precisely why they've opted to shut down the game, MMOCrunch is citing financial issues as the reason that GameKiss has decided on this course of action. In either case, while it's never good to see any MMO community lose its home, we suspect that Nida Online players will likely bounce back. After all, there are a great many other free-to-play games with solid populations to choose from -- and a new one launching (seemingly) every other day.

If you're the type of person who loves watching big numbers tick up on the screen, then boy do we have the game for you. It's called NIDA Online, and it's for those of us who feel better after seeing gigantic numbers tick up on the screen. We'll be honest. We're not exactly sure what's going on in this game. There's mages, summoners, and knights, but then there's also pictures of people in power armor in addition to medieval armor. We're really confused. It's also billing itself as an action MMORPG, which we can only assume means fast paced combat. What we're not confused about, however, is the open beta start date. The game is opening their doors tomorrow, so anyone interested can jump into the open beta and give the game a whirl. If you want a better look at what you're getting into, however, we've embedded one of the number spamming videos into this post after the break. The quality isn't very good, but the numbers Duke, the numbers!
