GOG's Telltale collection is as good a way as any to while away the coming weekend, so it's handy the distributor has a Telltale sale to dive into. Each of the six games, namely Sam & Max Season 1, Season 2, and Season 3, Back to the Future, Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures, and Tales of Monkey Island, is going at 85 percent off.You can buy the games separately, or all for a total of $26.19. That's nearly $9 less than they went for in GOG's last Telltale sale. The offer's good until Monday, April 22 at 9PM PT (midnight ET).

For all you patient PC players itching to get your mitts on XBLA indie hit Fez, mark your calendars (probably take off those mitts first): Fez pre-orders open on April 22 via Steam and GOG, and the game will be 10 percent off – $9 – until it launches on May 1."No more waiting for a thing to actually be out before you can buy it! No more keeping all that pesky money to yourself! With our patented pre-order technology, we take your money today and give you something later!" Polytron's official pre-order announcement evangelizes. "Spend money and save money! At the same time!" Now that's a deal.We found 2012's XBLA version of Fez to be joyful, challenging and deeply satisfying as a puzzle platformer. That edition has sold 200,000 copies to date, and eventually, the game should be out on "pretty much everything," including Mac, Linux, Vita, Ouya and iOS.

You'd better make a saving throw for your wallet, because it's in serious danger of its cash points being depleted by this weekend's GOG deal. That's down a whopping 80 percent from $105.90.The deal is a stacking one, which means for every game you choose to purchase, the price on each one goes down; in other words, you're getting the best value for money if you get the lot. The ten games on offer are Icewind Dale 1 & 2 (both Complete versions), Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga and Baldur's Gate 2 Complete, Neverwinter Nights: Diamond Edition and Neverwinter Nights 2: Complete, Dungeons & Dragons: Dragonshard, Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone, The Temple of Elemental Evil, and Planescape: Torment. You've got time to rustle up a few more gold pieces if needed, because the deal's good until 9PM PT on Monday, April 8.[Thanks Shawn]

The critically acclaimed (and touching) adventure, To the Moon, is celebrating the holiday today with a 66 percent off Steam sale. The price of the game has dropped to $3.39 – when you start comparing your various favorite pastimes, picking up To the Moon is just about the best emotions-per-dollar deal you'll find.If scares-per-dollar is a more valuable metric to you, then GOG.com is offering up 1998's classic Sanitarium for just a few cents more, at $3.99. It's also about memory and psychology, but it's a little less touchy-feely, and a little more grabby-stabby, if you know what we mean.

  • Leisure Suit Larry 'Greatest Hits and Misses' collection now on GOG

Classic PC adventure gaming examples of how not to pick up women have been spritzed with horrendous cologne and dressed up as GOG's Leisure Suit Larry "Greatest Hits and Misses" collection. The $10 pack includes the first five Larry jams, the oldest of which (Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards) comes in both Original and VGA flavors. The release of this collection marks the first time that Larry's adventures have swung both ways, by which we mean "been both PC and Mac OSX compatible," obviously. The collection also includes the 1981 text-based DOS/Apple II game Softporn Adventure, which despite how it sounds, is mostly about navigating a bar and reading newspapers. Not that we've played it or anything.Since this collection's screenshots and trailer are borderline not safe for work, we've decided to err on the side of caution and refrain from hosting them on our family friendly internet blog-o-site. Clicking all up on the source link below will take you where you want to go, if you're into that sort of thing.

At some point the GOG holiday sale became unfair, an awfully cheap proposition that no fan of computer games could simply overlook. With rotating daily deals of up to 75% off and discounts up to 50% off on everything in GOG's catalogue, the platform is truly making a case for the season of giving to one's self. The sale lasts until January 3. Today's daily deals include The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings for $12 and The Longest Journey for $5, among other quality offerings. As for general standouts during the promotion, we'd have to say Syndicate for $3 is a nice deal, and so is Legend of Grimrock for $3.74. Mac gamers aren't left out in the full-priced cold either, with deals on SimCity 2000 for $3, Fallout for $5 and Descent and Descent 2 for $5 to consider. For the full list of 475 games on sale during GOG's promotion, follow the source link below.

If you're of the mind that the craft of making computer games peaked in the mid-'90s, we've got some good news for you. GOG.com (formerly known as Good Old Games) has updated its catalog of classic PC games tweaked to run on the Mac. Twelve titles have been added for December, bringing the site's Mac-compatible lineup to 80. Newly added are Star Control 1+2, Star Control 3, Broken Sword 2 Remastered, Alone in the Dark 1+2+3, Pirates! Gold Plus and Master of Orion 1+2 (all US$5.99), plus Dragonsphere and Puddle. Dragonsphere is actually a free game that anyone with a GOG.com account can add to their libraries. Puddle ($9.99) isn't a retro game; it's from October, so we guess it should probably be categorized as a good new game?

Good Old Games continues reaching out to new platforms, adding official Windows 8 support last week and expanding its Mac support with additional games this week. The newly Mac-compatible games include all three Star Controls and a bunch of games that are going to be really anticlimactic after the news that all three Star Controls are on Mac.Okay, the other new GOG Mac games include Puddle, Pirates! Gold Plus, Master of Orion 1+2, Alone in the Dark 1, 2, and 3, Broken Sword 2: Remastered, Dragonsphere (which is free), and Screamer 2.

GOG.com announced today it will officially support Windows 8. The digital distribution service stated 431 games (out of 486 available on the service) have been "fixed, tested, and reported" to work on Windows 8."Note that most of these have not had the master builds updated, so you shouldn't need to redownload the installer or anything," GOG's announcement noted. "Some of the titles, our build ninjas performed their usual magic on, and they'll work now in Windows 8 – and we're even adding Windows 7 support to a few. We'll also be adding more Windows 8 games as time goes by and we've got time to apply some fixes to more of the classic games in the catalog."We reached out to GOG for an official list of the 431 compatible games, but they told us it's easier to list the games that aren't Windows 8 compatible. We've dropped that list after the break.

There are a lot of shiny new games out at the moment, but GOG.com is trying its darndest to entice you with some older selections. It's offering six of Telltales' episodes-bundled games at 80 percent off, while the site's entire Interplay catalog's going at half-price.The Telltale offer covers Sam & Max: Season One, Two, and Three, Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures, Back to the Future: The Game, and Tales of Monkey Island. Each game can be bought separately at 80 percent off, but for the record they total in at a measly $34.94. The offer's good until the clock strikes midnight ET on November 13.Whereas you've got an extra three days for the other offer, which slashes 50 percent off all 32 Interplay games in the site's catalog. They include Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics, both MDK games, and the once-controversial Kingpin: Life of Crime. Incidentally, hip hop superstars Cypress Hill supplied the soundtrack for Kingpin. The group's music was all over the game including the official trailer, an ad it somehow-well-not-really got away with back in 1999.

Street Fighter Alpha 2, the second entry in Capcom's Street Fighter Alpha sub-series built for its CPS II arcade hardware, is now available for PC via GOG. For six bucks, fisticuffs enthusiasts receive the game, its soundtrack, 24 avatars and 41 pieces of related artwork.Since this is a straight port of the Windows version of the game from the late 90s, anyone plugging a PS3 or Xbox arcade stick into their USB port and hoping for built-in compatibility will be disappointed. Regardless, if PC is your fighting platform of choice and you, like many others, pine for the simpler days of the Alpha era, here you go.

Developer Black Forest Games has released the world-shifting platformer on PC through GOG, Gamersgate, and Steam – where it is only the second Greenlight pick ever to make it to release.Through October 30, all three retailers are offering 10 percent off the $14.99 purchase price, so there's an incentive to check it out soon even if you didn't already buy into it via Kickstarter.

There's an Essentials bundle which delivers five classics (SimCity 2000, Postal) at a 50% discount to celebrate the launch; that's good through Thursday afternoon. Joystiq caught hints of this announcement with the release of The Witcher 2 on Steam last week, so they're pleased that the expected Mac support has come to pass. You can browse the full GOG catalog for Mac and see if there are any games that catch your fancy.
