    10.16.2014

The second round of hotfixes for patch 6.0.2 are in, but some of these will require realm restarts to take effect. Some of the highlights include: Resolved an issue where some Iron Horde Incursion quests were awarding items that had a level 100 requirement to equip or not awarding an item correctly. To better account for the changes to player health and ability scaling, we've reduced the health and damage of nearly all non-player creatures and NPCs on a level-by-level basis (larger reductions for lower-level creatures, in general). The damage dealt by several of Ordos's abilities has been reduced. Heart of the Thunder King: Resolved an issue where players were not receiving Lei Shen's heart if they've already defeated them earlier in the week. Garrosh Hellscream now has 15% less health on Mythic difficulty. Resolved an issue where characters that have completed the achievement: Proving Yourself: Endless Damage (Wave 30) (Level 90) were not retaining their titles. Resolved an issue where Battleground queues were not working correctly. The full list of hotfixes is after the break.

The hotfixes are in for patch 6.0.2's first night on the live servers. It didn't take long for Blizzard to respond to several issues -- this is a good sign for things to come. Major points this evening include: All quest boss NPCs in the Blasted Lands now have scaling health pools based on the number of players engaging them. Resolved an issue where the toy collection count was incorrectly increasing each time the character logs in. The title, "of the Iron Vanguard" received from completing The Iron Invasion achievement is now account-wide. Reduced the health and damage of high level creatures and NPCs in Pandaria to more closely match their relative difficulty before the stat squish. Auction house NPCs in Siege of Orgrimmar's should no longer be level 100. Garrosh Hellscream's Iron Star explosion damage has been reduced to a more reasonable level in a post stat squish environment. Mage: Supernova now deals 30% less damage against player targets. The full hotfixes after the break.

  • Destiny balances weapons, shuts down another loot cave

Bungie updated Destiny to balance some of its weapons and fix a few bugs today. For starters, the developer swatted a bug where the Valkyrie-O5X ship appeared to be the same as the Aurora Lance and fixed issues related to quick weapon swapping. The base damage of scout rifles were increased six percent, whereas the damage of all auto rifles as well as the Vex Mythoclast was decreased two percent and 34 percent, respectively. The developer also shut down another loot cave, one located in the rocket yard area of the game. The hot new treasure farming spot, a room where Fallen enemies consistently spawned, surfaced after Bungie closed the first loot cave. "The Fallen have also retreated from their hold over the Rocket Yard to discuss a new takeover plan," Bungie wrote in its update notes. For now, Destiny looters will have to take the stairs, if you catch our drift. [Image: Activision]

    06.18.2014

A short list of hotfixes for patch 5.4.8 have been released and posted to the official blog. Although a small round, these hotfixes include the adjustment to the Bloody Coin drop rate mentioned yesterday -- the drop rate is now 100% upon landing a killing blow on a level 90 character. This is an additional adjustment to hotfixes last week that addressed the Censer of Eternal Agony, Bloody Coins, and Fire-Watcher's Oath. In addition, players may now use the Nightmarish Hitching Post in both Arenas and Rated Battlegrounds. Rygarius June 17 Creatures NPC vendors selling Tier-16 armor pieces now have significantly more health. Items Fire-Watcher's Oath: Players transformed into an Ordon Fire-Watcher now have a 100% chance to gain Bloody Coins on killing-blows against level-90 characters. Note that there's still a short internal-cooldown on earning Bloody Coins. Nightmarish Hitching Post is now usable in Arenas and Rated Battlegrounds. Bug Fixes Resolved an issue where the Nightmarish Reins buff could cause players on a flight path to travel slowly. Resolved an issue where players may receive duplicate letters in-game for purchases made on the store. source

    06.15.2014

A very brief list of hotfixes for patch 5.4.8 were introduced on Friday, brief enough that they likely escaped the attention of most players. However, if you are one of the players currently farming Bloody Coins on the Timeless Isle via the Censer of Eternal Agony, you may have noticed a few changes in the way the Censer works, and in the manner that Bloody Coins are farmed. The cooldown for the Censer of Eternal Agony has been increased from ten minutes to one hour. In addition, Fire-Watcher's Oath now has a cooldown of ten minutes, down from the one hour mark it was set at previously. Its cost is now 100 Timeless Coins, rather than 50 Bloody Coins, and the transformation now allows both mount usage and druid shape-shifting. In addition to that, the internal cooldown on earning Bloody Coins has been significantly reduced. Community Manager Lore hopped on the official forums to discuss the changes in detail.

    05.17.2014

This week's bout of information on the upcoming 5.4.8 patch has taken most of the interest this week, but there were still hotfixes released for patch 5.4.7 as well. Most of the changes addressed various bugs, rather than any major adjustments -- given that the next patch is on the PTR, it's likely we won't be seeing much more in the way of major notes until 5.4.8 is released. Rygarius May 14 Classes Paladin Retribution Sword of Light now increases healing done by Word of Glory by 60% (up from 30%). Warlock Armor Set Resolved an issue where Warlocks were able to incorrectly retain their Tier-14 4-piece set bonus when the armor is no longer equipped. 05.03.2014

A small batch of hotfixes for patch 5.4.7 were released and posted to the official website yesterday. The hotfixes primarily concern the Garrosh Hellscream encounter on Flexible difficulty -- specifically, breakpoint concerns regarding the encounter should be alleviated with the new adjustments. May 2 Raids, Dungeons, and Scenarios Siege of Orgrimmar Garrosh Hellscream [Requires a realm restart.] Garrosh Hellscream now only targets 2 players with Touch of Y'Shaarj and Empowered Touch of Y'Shaarj regardless of raid size on Flexible difficulty. Previously, the number of players targeted by the ability scale from 2 to 4, resulting in a harsh breakpoint for groups with 17-18 players. [Requires a realm restart.] Touch of Y'Shaarj and Empowered Touch of Y'Shaarj cast times have been increased to 3.5 seconds (up from 2.5 seconds) on Flexible difficulty. Battlegrounds and Arenas Resolved an issue that was causing Battleground queues to report incorrect wait times. source

A new round of hotfixes for patch 5.4.7 have been released and posted on the official blog. Ice Crown Citadel: Resolved an issue that could prevent players from being able to loot The Lich King if NPCs dealt fatal damage to him. While the list is pretty small, it includes a few important changes for players, including the fact that world bosses in Mists of Pandaria are no longer tap-to-faction -- something that was revealed last week. There's also one particularly nice change for players that like to farm old content. Players frustrated with the five instances per hour limit on World of Warcraft accounts should be pleased to note that that number has now been increased to 10. Shaman, an issue that caused the visual effect for Healing Rain to persist indefinitely has been fixed. All world bosses in Mists of Pandaria are no longer tap-to-faction -- players from both factions can engage the boss at the same time and receive loot. Read on for the full list of hotfixes.
