All the hype surrounding Apple's rumored March event might soon boil to a head. Sources for both Recode and Buzzfeed understand that Apple will hold its shindig on or shortly after March 21st -- later than the previously-hinted March 15th date, but timely if you're celebrating the start of spring. The devices expected at the show haven't changed, mind you. Tim Cook and crew are reportedly unveiling a revamped 4-inch iPhone (possibly called the iPhone SE), a 9.7-inch iPad Pro and a fresh round of Apple Watch straps. If you're fond of Apple's smaller mobile gear, you may have an abundance of choices in the space of a month.

The Apple rumor mill has been in full swing over the last month or so, with as-yet-unconfirmed March 15th event that's said to introduce a new 4-inch iPhone and the iPad Air 3. Those rumors are getting a little more concrete today, as 9to5Mac's Marc Gurman is saying that both of those products will go on sale on March 18th -- the Friday after the rumored event. Gurman's been posting reports about this event and what we might see for weeks now, and this just appears to be further evidence that the company's March plans are solidified. Of course, nothing's official yet, but Gurman's track record suggests these will be the big product introductions Apple has on tap.

The iPhone 5se and iPad Air 3 rumors are piling up, and it looks like we won't have to wait long to get the official details. Both BuzzFeed's John Paczkowski and 9to5Mac's Mark Gurman, both of whom have solid track records when it comes to rumors, report that Apple's next event will take place on March 15th. The agenda for the soiree is said to include that long-rumored 4-inch iPhone and the new iPad Air that we got a look at yesterday. What's more, an Apple Watch software update should be discussed at the event alongside a collection of new bands. We'll know soon if the date is solid, as the official invites should be out sometime this month.

That rumored new 4-inch iPhone, the iPhone 5se, may not just be an iPhone 6 in a smaller case. In a follow-up rumor, 9to5Mac's sources claim that the compact phone is "more likely" to include a version of Apple's A9 processor (and its companion M9 chip), as previously hinted, than the A8. And while it'd still ship with 16GB of baseline storage, you'd have the option of 64GB. Between this and earlier talk of support for Apple Pay and Live Photos, about the only things you'd really miss from the iPhone 6s are the larger display (if you like that), 3D Touch and the higher-resolution camera.

It's right around that time of year when iPhone rumors start heating up and 2016 is no exception. Earlier this week, there were rumors floating around that Apple could be working on a 4-inch iPhone 6c, theoretically for those who missed the smaller iPhone screens of old. Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac, however, is debunking that tall tale. Instead, Gurman says that the rumored phone is actually just an upgrade of the existing iPhone 5s that was released way back in 2013 and is in no way an indication of what the iPhone 7 would look like (It would still have its headphone jack, for example). Its launch name? Gurman, who usually has reliable sources, says it could very well be the "iPhone 5se."
