Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is out on DVD and Blu Ray today, and (perhaps not-so) coincidentally four classic Star Wars video games have joined Sony's subscription-based streaming service, PlayStation Now. Oh, and there's some Lego Indiana Jones titles in there too.

Frustrated that The Force Awakens won't feature in any Star Wars: Battlefront DLC? No matter. While the graphics won't be quite the same, LEGO and developer TT Games will soon have you covered with a button-mashing adventure inspired by Episode VII. The upcoming title was spotted on the Xbox Games Store and through a trailer leaked on YouTube, revealing yet another brawler-platformer that's chock-full of gags and family-friendly fun. Whether it's Poe Dameron using a windscreen wiper on his X-Wing, or Rey driving a speeder with a "BB on Board" sticker, there should be plenty to keep both children and adults chuckling.

There isn't a way to turn back time and prevent the Star Wars prequels from ever releasing (just ask Cher), but maybe Disney XD's upcoming crack at them could make the flicks palatable. You see, the channel is prepping the launchpad for The Force Awakens' December release with a Lego retelling of the entire story so far. The Hollywood Reporter notes that Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales will recount the narrative in five, 22-minute episodes, as told from the viewpoint of chatterbox C-3PO and his stubby companion R2D2 in a "brand new story."

  • 320GB HDD available this month for Xbox 360, $130 ups your storage game

Since its introduction, Microsoft's second generation Xbox 360 has had nary a stand-alone HDD option aside from the company's proprietary 250GB drive, priced at a spendy $130 -- this despite those occasional limited edition consoles packing a massive 320GBs of space. That's soon to change, however, as Major Nelson's announced a new 320GB HDD for the 360, set to be available this month. Possibly in an attempt to sweeten the deal, this platter maintains the 250GB's $130 cost of adoption, and comes pre-loaded with Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (sadly though, no Lego love for Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Slovakia or Japan, where the game won't be available). Notably, rather than dropping the 250GB drive's price, it's now curiously absent from the Xbox website (and we won't hold our breath waiting for it to pop up again either). Nothing like a good ol' fashioned pricing premium for official Xbox storage, right?

  • LEGO Universe screenshots reveal a first look at LEGO MMO

As all gamers know, LEGO is big business having created successful games out of franchises like Batman, Star Wars and, of course, Indiana Jones. Well now it's venturing into MMO territory (yes we're also trying to get our heads around it too) with NetDevil's LEGO Universe. The company has just revealed a few screenshots showing character customisation and three of the sets (focusing on pirates, space and ninjas) but for fans of the console games this may very well be the MMO for you. LEGO Universe is scheduled to be released on PC in 2010 and does seem to capture everything we loved about the bricks in a game, whether it pays off as an MMO remains to be seen. To judge for yourself, check out all the images here.[Via Shacknews]

Take a look at this deal: LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga for only 25 bucks. That's a savings of 50 percent on a story that spans over all six Star Wars films. Not bad, not bad at all. If you've been on the fence about getting this game, now might be a good time to pick it up. You can avail of this offer at LEGO's official website.[Thanks James G., Via Fatwallet]

During 2007, lots of companies realized that the Wii was doing good. Perhaps, too good. So, they scrambled to make games that they could port or "enhance" for the Wii, or other games that were made to take advantage of the console's adopters who were new to gaming and thus susceptible to spending money on crap games the unique capabilities of the Wii's controls scheme, causing a slew of cash-ins on the console that didn't necessarily bring anything new to the Wii other than another game sitting on the shelf. So, let's look at those games and you tell us what the most shameless and useless game of the lot is.

Not satisfied with merely financing, publishing, and distributing LEGO Batman, Warner Bros. has decided to purchase the whole pie, bagging developer Traveler's Tales and its parent group TT Games. While we haven't been told just how much cash will be stuffed into the briefcase when it changes hands, we do know the acquisition encompasses both the development and publishing arms of TT Games, which owns game rights to a book about obscure world records. Recreating the longest ironing session ever (55 hours, 5 minutes, fyi) would certainly be a thrill, but we've got our fingers crossed for a proper Matrix treatment to follow on the heels of LEGO Indy. Go ahead, eat the red brick -- we dare ya!

And so it begins, a November to end all Novembers. Within the next month, we will be positively assaulted with new and wonderful Xbox 360 games. The summer wasn't exactly thin, especially as summers tend to go for video games, but the sheer amount of games dropping this month alone -- good games, mind you -- is ridiculous. But let's not get ahead of ourselves thinking about the impending arrival of Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Kane & Lynch, and Rock Band (to name a few). No, let's concentrate on this week's titles. One thing at a time, as it were. So, this week we have: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare F.E.A.R. Files Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War Scene-It LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga Cabela's Big Game Hunter We have something of a soft spot for Scene-It, but we imagine the majority of you are most excited for Call of Duty 4. We don't blame you either, all of us here at X3F were addicted to its online leveling system during the beta in earlier this year.Don't get too excited though. We've got three more weeks of high caliber releases to come. You might want to start your financial planning now.

You know, we never played the first Lego Star Wars game because, frankly, Star Wars Episode 1, 2 and 3 were trash. Seriously, we couldn't find a single thing worth liking about those new movies, but this is not the proper forum to complain about them, we're merely presenting you with a why as to our avoiding that game. The latest trailer for Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga has us thinking that we missed out hard though, as the invasion of Naboo level looks like all kinds of fun. And those graphics are pretty nice, too. Who will be joining us in picking this up come next month?

While it might not be the 1:1 lightsaber movement we wanted in our first Star Wars game on the Wii, the controls don't look as if they're totally bunked. No, this is a game we can still very much play. We might get a bit tired doing so, but no pain, no gain, right? What do you folks think?[Thanks, zizzy!]

We don't know about you, but for us, this clip of Indiana Jones in Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga raises far too many questions. For one, why is Indy so short? And why is he made of plastic? Why does his whip kill droids? Oh, and why on earth is he in Episode I? (Yuck.) Perhaps most pressing of all though: Why is he dying so much?Regardless, if you don't mind adding enigmas to your coffee along with various creams and honeys, it is kind of a fanboy treat to see a Lego-ized Indy fighting alongside Qui-Gon Jinn. Would we consider ourselves fanboys? Let's put it this way ... we spelled Qui-Gon Jinn from memory.

Considering the last outing the franchise had on the DS was a complete and utter failure, a lot is riding on this title. And, the developers behind the title, Traveller's Tales, are taking this seriously, as they rebuilt the game from the ground up, rather than recycling the first game's engine. In giving the game a play, Joystiq found that the title was not only impressive from a graphical standpoint, but also found the controls to be adequate. They're of the mind that the game should satisfy fans come the title's launch on November 6th.%Gallery-7909%

LucasArts recently showed off the in-development DS version of Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. The company tried to remain positive -- or at the very least, civil -- about the previous DS bomb, Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. But this showing was clearly to prove to journalists that the DS version of the new game won't follow the murky fate of its predecessor. Lego Star Wars creator, Traveller's Tales redeveloped the game for the DS instead of re-using the old DS engine, and it shows. The new game more closely resembles LSW on other consoles. In my brief play session, I was impressed with the top-screen 3D graphics; LSW Complete could be the graphical leader for 3D DS games with its November 6 launch.%Gallery-7861%

A new gameplay trailer for Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga has emerged on the net. In said trailer, we're shown all of the wonderful waggle that is sure to cause many a wrist to ache once the game releases. Maybe it's just us, but using the Force to assemble blocks looks kind of annoying. Using the lightsaber looks fun, though.Check out the video past the post break.

Our blogging overlords got their hands on the Wii version of Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga at E3 yesterday. Sure, they got their hands on all three different versions of the game, commenting that the PS3 version looked the best. Graphics don't mean crud to us, though. We want to know about those gesture-based controls! In regards to that, they said that the control setup does "somewhat answer our Jedi geek dreams: motion controlled lightsaber action." They add that the motion controls allow for a unique experience on the Wii, which is something we're glad to read. They didn't really have much more to say about the Wii version of the game beyond that, but we're just glad to hear the motion controls are spot on and fun.%Gallery-3717%

Six episodes, one disc. LucasArts is combining its hit LEGO Star Wars games into one package, and to rope in fans of the series who already picked it up, they've added new content -- levels, characters, features and modes. The House that George Built showed off some of the new improvements of LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga this week at the E3 summit. We first saw the PlayStation 3 build of the game, with improved visuals and great lighting techniques. Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 will have drop-in online co-op, much like their current offline co-op mode. So now your South African BFF can be invited to join you halfway through the Battle of Hoth. Unique to the PS3 version are motion controls using the Sixaxis pad. We were shown one space battle scene over a Star Destroy where the controls were used to maneuver a TIE Defender. Given the graphical details, we actually forgot for a moment that this was a LEGO game.

When news broke that Wii owners would be able to partake in the entire Lego Star Wars experience, complete in one nicely-bundled package, many probably wondered if some waggle would be making its way into using the lightsaber. Turns out, it is, but it won't be as influential as you think.According to CVG, the game will still use button presses to initiate most moves, however, through the use of the Wiimote's motion-sensitivity, players can pump up their powers. For example, players can construct objects from the loose bricks permeating the game world faster by moving the Wiimote up and down. It might not be what gamers are hoping for, but at least it's a step in the right direction.[Thanks, Squishey!]

While LucasArts says it's adding some new content, we fear that the upcoming Lego Star Wars game, Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga will just be a new name on an old title. Still, the humor in this series is worth a second look -- at least in cost-free trailer form -- and this ad for the game reminds us why we enjoy this unlikely franchise at all.In time for the 30th anniversary, see epic Star Wars events reenacted with Legos after the break.

LucasArts will bring forth a new retooling of the already released, Lego Star Wars and Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy for PS3 gamers this fall. Instead of just combining the two games into one, developer Traveller's Tales decided to go the extra mile and include some extra levels, new power ups, and even a challenge mode. Watto and Boss Nass become playable characters and from the sounds of it, the character customizer now allows options for the prequel trilogy characters. With promises to "take full advantage of the unique capabilities of all three next-generation consoles," we should expect Sixaxis tilt control game play. Utilizing the Force by moving the controller certainly sounds interesting. Lets hope it's implemented well. Considering the last release sold like hotcakes, expectations are high on this combined re-release. Look for more as the fall release approaches. [Via Joystiq]
