It looks like Nyhm has a new competitor, Coma Niddy. Last month, he released an audio parody of NERD's Lapdance (Not safe for work), RFC for Free. Yesterday, he came out with the video, which does a pretty faithful job of representing the attitude of the song. Mystrana, the female voice in the chorus, submitted the video to us.Yddin, the star of the video, laments about the fact that, since he's level 70, everyone wants him to run through Ragefire Chasm. While the editing is pretty good for his first video, some of the timing and delivery of the song itself feels off. I really enjoyed it, though![Thanks, Mystrana of Demon Soul!]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

You're going to have to keep an open mind for this next video, Piece of Me. It may be based on a Britney Spears song, but it's really well done. I know that you might want to pass up on it just for the music, the same way I do with Linkin Park videos, but hear me out.The machinimator, Demachic, is a 13 year old girl from Ireland, and this is her first machinima! She managed to do better than some people on their tenth work, so it's surprising that it wasn't spotlighted on Warcraftmovies. She modeled it to look like the original music video, but it's not an exact replica. While I normally hate on excessive varying transitions, her use of them only enhances the video. I'm eager to see what song she machinimates next![Via Warcraftmovies.com - Thanks, Legs!]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

Before there was Nyhm, there was a guy, sk3uled, and his Avril Lavigne CD. What did he come up with? A parody video, Healer, to her song, Girlfriend. You can thank (or curse!) Baron Soosdon for this submission. At least it wasn't a Sir Mixalot Rickroll. The lyrics are probably the best thing about the video. The "singing" is monotone and the aspect ratio isn't consistent. Believe it or not, this is the better version. His previous attempt, made over a year ago, was recorded with a bad microphone and what looks like a bunch of pictures thrown into a slideshow program. If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

Weird -- doesn't that shot above look scarily similar to this one? Okay, minus the coinage, paperwork and miniaturized human. Seems that Nokia's XpressMusic 5610 found its way into Panic at the Disco's That Green Gentleman video, but considering how it gets walked all over and completely disregarded after the 40 second mark, we doubt it stands much chance of getting into the guys' hearts.[Thanks, Jimmy]

At what age are you supposed to grow up and start behaving yourself? For this gnome, the answer is never maturing. There are girls to chase, pranks to pull, and plenty of people to offend. What's My Age Again?, named after the Blink 182 song, won't win any prizes as a machinima. However, you can see that if Mavryc practices enough, he could be great. He went a bit wild with Model Viewer, but didn't pay enough attention to aspect ratios and chroma-keying. The fast cuts look great, though![Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

(Some of the content of this video is of a (mild) adult nature. We've placed it behind the cut.)RaffyTaffy has released the second machinima in the TMV, or Taffy's Music Video, Hell series. Similar to Olibith's Never Stay Tuned series, and Khandy's What Else Is On!, it parodies songs by popular real life artists. While some of the parts are amusing, most are often too literal. However, I already see an improvement over the first TMV Hell that was released almost three months ago. Given how many songs there are out there just begging to be mocked, RaffyTaffy will have plenty for new material in the future![Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...Click here to watch the video ...

Oh, how we've tried to find actual Lord of the Rings Online machinima. Everyone that plays seems obsessed with the musical instruments, though! However, we've finally found a "music video" that we can get behind. We don't want to give away the musical arrangement surprise for you, so you'll just have to watch. All that we can say is that Cervantes and Doreketh, the composers, had way too much time on their hands in LotRO.If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.

A digital filmmaker named Dennis Liu has made an amazing video for The Bird And The Bee's lovely song "Again & Again". The set? His Mac desktop. You sort of have to see it for yourself to understand; luckily, Dennis has dropped it on YouTube so that the world can see it in low-res glory: Innovative, and definitely cool. It doesn't seem to be an "official" video for the song...but if it isn't, it oughtta be. (Hey, Bird! Bee! Y'all paying attention?)Thanks, Ted Roddy![via MacRumors forums]

  • GoonSwarm takes on the Beatles with the "Little Bees" video

Ahh, the Goons. As an entity, they are arguably the largest gaming collective in MMO history, with presences in Second Life, World of Warcraft, and EVE Online, with doubtless many other MMOs inhabited. EVE, in particular, is home to the GoonSwarm, or GoonFleet, which is infamous for its combat tactic of harassing larger ships with a rush of smaller, less-powerful vehicles. Cheap? Maybe. Effective? Definitely. In a testament to the power of its alliance, they've created a music video that's sure to stir the hearts of Goon-loving forces everywhere. Entitled 'Little Bees', based on the Beatles song 'Let It Be', and featuring lyrics like 'And when the system's laggy/You could lay the blame on CCP', it's got our vote for Best New Artist Video of the Year. [Thanks, Hortinstein!]

  • PluggedIn launches HD music video portal

We've had plenty of TV shows hitting the web in high definition recently, now PluggedIn is bringing music videos. Its site, just launched in beta, uses the same Move plugin as ABC.com to push over 10,000 HD and broadcast quality videos from EMI, Sony BMG and other labels. We watched a few videos, and while we've usually gotten good results with ABC's web site, we couldn't seem to get the "HD" meter filled up so far. Whether its bandwidth issues or the videos we checked just weren't HD was unclear, but hopefully the site is updated so its easier to find what we're looking for. Still, audio quality was decent and the broadcast-quality video we did get was clear. For now, take a look and see if this lives up to the competition offered by the networks, Hulu, or even Youtube.

I chose some lighter fare for today while you get your patch 2.4 fix on. Garritt Windspire, of Windspire Entertainment, made the cutest music video in World of Warcraft. Being a short one myself (but not that short!), I find gnomes absolutely adorable. Baby It's Cold Outside is no Baron Soosdon production, but for what it is, it works well. While I liked the video, there were some obvious flaws with it. The aspect ratio seems wonky, and the page turns are pretty cheesy. However, I thought that the surprise in the middle broke the music video up nicely. What's your favorite WoW music video?Previously on Moviewatch ...

For those that believe that aliens are out there, things just got more complicated. You see, they're also in our virtual worlds! At least, according to Gary Hazlitt they are.Gary created a music video, Hide and Seek, about their presence in Second Life. In the video, they cruise around in several sims, Planet Mongo, Svarga, and Deakin University, to a soundtrack by Imogen Heap. If you liked the video, check out the medium quality version. To complete the shots, he used a greenscreened picture version of the avatar and filtered it through CrazyTalk 5, then filmed real shots of movement. He placed the lipsynched picture video over the footage and chromakeyed it in Final Cut Pro.

We're still filling in for our regular cinediva Moo Money who is ramping up for SXSW this weekend. This may or may not be a good thing, depending on if you like more amateur machinima or not. Today's Cinemassively is interesting to us from the standpoint of choreography, editing and just pure fun. If you're looking for epic story-lines, tight scripting, or great visual effects, this isn't it. If, however, you are looking for a fun little music video that features City of Heroes celebrity cameos, including what may quite possibly be the most Freakshow (yet best choreographed) CoH chorus line ever, then this is for you![Thanks, Blazefire from The Girls of Nukem High]

Continuing the Chronicles of Spellborn love, reader Garold (who sent us the last CoS video) finds a new video for us to enjoy. Currently being seen on TenTonHammer, this is a music video of Holland-based group Within Temptation (who provided in-game music), featuring scenery, gameplay, and ... spaceships? Apparently there's more to Spellborn than previously revealed. This video makes us think of I'm So Sick, though nothing can touch that video's quality. Still, it's definitely worth watching for a continued look at what we can expect when this MMO makes it to market.[Thanks, Garold!]

Before Telemora went on to make his Warcraftmovies recommended The Luckiest, he created a little music video, We Will Rock You. He finished the film way back in March 2006, but it just reached over one million views on YouTube yesterday! The video is part music video, part battle, but all rock and roll.By today's standards, this might not be considered a spectacular machinima, but back then, it was chock full of special effects, color correction, and transitions, in a time when not so many were doing that. Telemora went on to be one of the higher ranked WCM contributors, however hasn't released anything since last year, which is a shame. If you'd like to watch a higher quality stream, check out the version on WeGame.[Via Warcraftmovies.com]Previously on Moviewatch ...

Did you watch the Insomniac recruitment video? Of course you did. (Download a higher-res version here.) Here's an exclusive for PS3 Fanboy readers. Ryan Schneider from Insomniac joins us to give a few behind-the-scenes commentary for the video. Find out a few new tidbits about the development team and get a few more hints about this Resistance 2 game they have going on. What was the inspiration for creating a recruitment music video?Well, when you go to things like GDC, everybody has their typical video. In general, everyone has their recruitment video – it's very "been there, done that." We just wanted to do something different. We wanted to create a video that captures who we really are and this video does. It shows that we take our games very seriously but not ourselves. %Gallery-14695%

It looks like Fishface went a little filter-happy this weekend. He created Streamline, a short music video based on the Pendulum song by the same name. As Baron Soosdon said on the video page, it would be a lot better if the cuts were in sync with the music. In addition, the L70ETC band didn't really fit in with the type of music that he used.Otherwise, I found it to be enjoyable. There's not much of a plot to go on, so just sit back and enjoy the billions of color filters that he applied. Awful things immediately ran through my head, so I was pleasantly surprised that Rock Rockin' Tha Spot wasn't that bad. Yes, there's some unsavory moments, but you'd really be missing out if you didn't watch.Baron is a Machinima master, skilled at making World of Warcraft look like an MTV video with a million dollar budget. He was able to finish this video much sooner because he used more in-game footage versus model viewer characters. Artists like Yume, the creator of Arithmomania, and Baron Soosdon are proving that you don't need a storyline to produce a quality machinima. With a heart pumping soundtrack provided by Dogzilla, Yume uses a variety of transitions and filters that would normally bog down a movie. Here, it all fits into place. You won't find much of a point to this video, but if looking upon the vast scenery of WoW makes you sentimental, you'll definitely enjoy it. The editing is right on target, and the filters are applied to coincide with the music. I'd have to say that my two favorite scenes involved the spinning stats, and the split screens that slowly moved in opposite directions. If you liked Arithmomania, definitely check out the high-res version.[Via Warcraftmovies.com]Previously on Moviewatch...
