Plenty of new content to get stuck into this week, including a whole load of DLC for a vast range of games. Wheel of Fortune arrives as this week's Spring Fever title, along with a demo for Red Alert 3: The Ultimate Edition. PSP owners have some more Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero DLC, a full game and a load of videos. It's another massive update on the PlayStation Store this week, with new PS3 games, tons of free demos, two PSP games, DLC, and a new episode of Qore. Current and new subscribers to Qore will also get a free voucher to download High Velocity Bowling, so check your e-mail. Patapon 2 is the big story for this week's European PSN update. Both the game and a free demo are available for download right now. As for PS3-related content, it's a relatively quiet showing. Lots of content, but nothing that really sticks out. Still, lots of content also means lots of free stuff, so who's complaining? Lots of downloadable content available this week, for games from Prince of Persia to Burnout Paradise and everything in between. Watchmen: The End Is Nigh is the game of the week and demos of Wanted and Age of Booty are also available. PSP owners can grab a digital copy of Killzone Liberation for the bargain price of $16. The Prince of Persia "Epilogue" pack has finally landed after its week-long delay, giving fans of the game a few more hours of wall-running enjoyment. If you're not into Prince of Persia, chances are you'll find something interesting in today's update, which overflows with a ridiculous amount of DLC -- though none for LittleBigPlanet. There are also demos for Wanted and WWE: Wrestlmania. PSP owners will have to settle for No Gravity, as that's their only release this week. Didn't preorder Killzone 2? Your time to try the game out has finally come. Unless you've already grabbed it from the European store, that is. Other than that, there's plenty of downloadable content, a new episode of Pulse and a Killzone 2 video guide. PSP owners have a new game, some DLC for Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? and some new themes. Today's update is slightly disappointing, but at least there's a playable demo of HAWX. There's also the normal DLC for your rhythm games but, sadly, no sign of any LittleBigPlanet DLC. PSP owners have two full games to purchase and SCEE might finally have got their pricing right. Street Fighter IV players who might want a new look for their favorite character also have the opportunity of buying new costumes. • PSN Thursday: Let's play Noby Noby Boy

Your guess is as good as ours as to how today's major PSN release, Noby Noby Boy plays. Heck, even it's creator -- Katamari Damacy's Keita Takahashi -- doesn't know why he made it. But, given its pedigree and $4.99 pricetag, we're going for it. Will you join us? (The more the merrier, as new stages are unlocked via cumulative global play -- crazy!).Today's update also brings PopCap's Zuma to PS3 (it's no Peggle, but what is ... except, well, Peggle), along with the much-anticipated Burnout Paradise Legendary Cars Collection, WipEout trimmings (plus costumes) for LittleBigPlanet and a playable demo of Loco Roco 2 for PSP, among various other offerings. Today's update is a little late arriving, but thankfully it's now finally here. Our Noby Noby Boy desires can now be fulfilled. There's also Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, though we suspect most of those who were interested in that will be waiting for Street Fighter IV tomorrow. PSP owners have a load of full downloadable UMD titles to choose from, though we're not sure Sony has yet learnt its lesson about pricing for those yet. Flower is now available to download from the US PSN Store. What are you still doing here? Fine, there is some other stuff, but you should really look into fixing your priorities. Disgaea 3 gets even more DLC today, along with all the normal rhythm games. There's no LittleBigPlanet DLC, despite Europe getting some, but there is a new episode of Qore, which includes a free copy of PS1 classic Syphon Filter, playable on both PS3 and PSP. Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars finally, actually, really comes out today. That's right, no more delays -- and no more masquerading as a demo. That's not the highlight of today's PSN update, however, considering that Flower is blooming worldwide; and we highly recommend that you get to pollinating. Additionally, PSP owners have a Resistance Retribution demo and ... that's about it. Still, now you can get a sense of why we think Retribution will be better than the franchise's PS3 entries. (Did we really just say that?) Choose your platform to view the corresponding release list: (Note: Continue past the break to view both release lists.)

Europe wins the PSN war this week with its Killzone 2 demo and other assorted full games. America's update isn't dire, however, as 3 on 3 NHL Arcade is now available, along with the Burnout Paradise Party pack. There's also plenty of DLC -- as usual -- and PSP owners have a demo for Phantasy Star Portable to try out. That's probably the most exciting thing in today's update, to be honest. Savage Moon finally makes an appearance on the American PSN Store this week alongside a smattering of other tasty offerings. PopCap's first PSN release, Bejeweled 2, is available as well as a pretty decent amount of LittleBigPlanet downloadable content. There are also the normal rhythm-based add-ons and Burnout Paradise's price has been dropped to only $19.99. At that price you'd have to be insane not to pick it up. No joke, writing this post about today's PSN update put the fear of Alma into us. In the parlance of the lolcats: she was in r computr, hackin r sistems. Every imaginable glitch that could go wrong ... did, but three hours later it's finally complete. This week, you can check out the demos for F.E.A.R. 2 and WipEout HD. There's all the standard rhythm game DLC and a special premium treat for all the slacker Skate 2 players out there. The full North American PSN update is after the break. PS3 Fanboy has the European PSN update, which finally adds Penny Arcade Adventures: Episode 1. Wow, was Alma messing with their system too?

Magic Ball is a PSN title that delivers some updated Arkanoid love, while Ultimate Ghost 'N Goblins and GTI Club+ bring something for the adrenaline crowd. If you listened carefully, you might have heard the PSN update this week. It was really small and didn't make much noise, but we assure you ... it happened. It added a new episode of Qore and two new DLC games, including Cuboid. Beyond that, there's new tracks for everyone's favorite plastic instrument games. The complete North American PSN update can be found after the break.PS3 Fanboy has the European PSN update, but it isn't much better over there either.

There are no lumps of coal in this week's PSN update, as Lumines Supernova and the original Suikoden become available. We're sure many of you are also excited about the Metal Gear LittleBigPlanet costume and level packs. For the game show crowd, Jeopardy! gets a $5 permanent price drop and now costs $10. There's also plenty of DLC for all your favorite games and some premium (read: $2 apiece) The Dark Knight themes. The complete North American PSN update can be found after the break.PS3 Fanboy has the European PSN update ... no, wait, they don't. Apparently, Europe will update tomorrow.

The Crash Commandos land this week on the PSN, along with Penny Arcade Adventures Ep. 2. If you're looking to whip up something a little more old-school, check out Castlevania Chronicles. There are also several pieces of new DLC for your favorite music games to keep you rockin' through the holidays. And don't overlook the "Complete My Game, Please" add-on pack for Super Stardust Portable. The complete North American PSN update can be found after the break. PS3 Fanboy has the European PSN update, which adds Soldner-X Himmelssturmer. Maybe that title is easier to pronounce in Europanese?

  • PSN Thursday: But wait, it's Friday

    12.12.2008

We know, we know. It's Friday. We let you down. What can we say? Yes, there was a PSN update yesterday, and it was right on time. But we were so busy rockin and poppin in Central Plaza all night that we completely ignored the other new wares this week. Can you blame us? Look, we waited in line for six hours just to get into Home! And once we finally made it in? Well, there was no way we were gonna hit the exit door just to go over and peer inside the PlayStation Store (it's not like we ever buy anything anyway). No, we spent the night crowded around the few female avatars that showed up mingling and led the mob that chased them across the plaza and through the mall when they tried to escape making friends. There's nothing like breaking the ice with, "Where do you live?" followed by the flirty "guns" gesture. But alas, here in the real world, we've got a responsibility to deliver the news. And by golly, fourteen hours late or not, we're gonna deliver the news!

It's a free episode of the wait-isn't-this-stuff-just-promotional digimag Qore! But don't fret dear subscribers, y'all still get the benefit of an exclusive Flock demo ...Okay, moving on. In other PSN news, we've got an unpronounceable shooter, Soldner-X: Himmelsstumerrmurmursumthinrathur ... but we prefer the less perplexing -- and now portable! -- versions of Super Stardust Portable and Everyday Shooter for PSP. And who could pass up the "Lingerie Girls" Theme? It's like your mom's Victoria's Secret catalog in -- yowzah -- 1080p!Head past the break for this week's full lineup -- or check out the European update over on PS3 Fanboy. We swear, you'll find something to buy.
