We've been a little busy with all the E3-ing and being hosts, so here's the PSN Thursday update for this week. PS1 classic Rayman is available, along with PSN game Elefunk. There's also several E3 videos and just sunshine with rainbows. So tired ...

E3 brings another new PSN update, this time adding several videos from today's Sony E3 press conference and The Who Rock Band DLC. Thursday's main PSN update should add Elefunk; but before that, there should be more videos added tomorrow.Check PS3 Fanboy for today's European update.

This week's PSN update brings the Rainbow Six Vegas 2 update, Ape Escape Academy for PSP and several new demos and videos. Next week's E3 week update should be a big one with Elefunk joining PSN's excellent selection of downloadable games, along with several videos -- and hopefully some demos -- from the show. Over at PS3 Fanboy they have this week's European PSN update, which adds the Escher-edly perspective twisting echochrome to the service.

  • PSN Thursday: Qore delivers episode two

Unless the promise of spending time with our pal Ms. Veronica Belmont and another episode of Qore sounds like a nice Thursday night (there's an episode teaser after the break) it might be best to just ignore this week's PSN update. Per usual, the rhythm games add some content and there's also some game videos that might be of interest. With E3 only a couple weeks away, it's understandable that things are a bit quiet at the moment, but we're seriously starting to itch for PixelJunk Eden! This week's European PSN update adds several pieces of Buzz!-worthy content; check it out over at PS3 Fanboy.

  • PSN Thursday: Still sifting through MGS4 database edition

    06.26.2008

The PSN update this week is nothing special, but we're still too busy sifting through the MGS4 Database added in last week's update to really care. Beyond the surprising amount of depth the database gets into, it's interesting to see some flat-out confirmations of some arguable points in the MGS canon -- like the whole Raikov being gay thing. The other additions this week include the normal rhythm game additions and Medievel Resurrection for PSP. The full PSN update can be found after the break. The MGS4 Database is the big deal this week on the European PSN update, get the full details on the update over at PS3 Fanboy.

    06.19.2008

This week's PSN update delivers the MGS4 Database, a repository of information that should explain the MGS saga in great -- and hopefully simple-to-understand -- detail. Oh yeah, best part, it's free! Also being added this week is the racer Fatal Inertia EX and new Guitar Hero III tracks by Coldplay. Of course, the Rock Band DLC is there as per usual. The full PSN update can be found after the break. The European PSN update is over at PS3 Fanboy. We recommend caution, they're really upset about not getting the MGS4 Database.

    06.12.2008

For those who can't afford Metal Gear Solid 4, this week's PSN update drags out Syphon Filter 3 as a downloadable title on the PSN for a mere $6. There's also some new Guitar Hero III and Rock Band tracks as well, but otherwise, it's a relatively lean week for obvious reasons. Be sure to grab the MGS4 PS3 theme if you're intending to eat, sleep with and breathe Snake until you finish the final chapter. Wait, did we just say "sleep with"? The full PSN update can be found after the break. The European PSN update can be found over at PS3 Fanboy. Tell them to stop playing MGS4 and do some work while you're there.

  • PSN Thursday: Novastrike, Civ Rev demo, Commando 3, much more

    06.05.2008

Big fat update this week. For starters, it's time for PS3 owners to jump in the pool and try out the Civilization Revolution demo. So far, our thoughts are positive, but conflicted. PC Civilization players will jump right in and notice some major changes, but will console gamers find joy in the methodical (yet incredibly streamlined) Civ gameplay?Enough thinking, what about some twitch action? The free God of War theme for GH III is available today, along with the PSN's first game self-published by a developer, Novastrike. Also, storming out of left field is Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3. There's also a couple other nice additions in this week's update, so check it out after the break. The PS3 Fanboy's got your European PSN update on their site, but be sure to bring chocolates. They like chocolates.

Not actual wallpaper OK, last week's PSN update was lacking, but this week ... well, this week we're just not going to comment on it. There's a couple of Prince of Persia wallpapers and the weekly Rock Band content. Beyond that, there's not much else. Check it out after the break if you don't believe. We'll take this opportunity to mention that PixelJunk Monsters is awesome -- particularly on two player local co-op -- and we recommend at least trying the demo.Europe got a little somethin-somethin, which can be found over at PS3 Fanboy.

    05.22.2008

Considering the fanboys get all uppity when we say that there's nothing in the PSN update for the week, we'll temper it by saying The Con is available for $20 on the PSP. For PS3 owners, there's the European Rock Band DLC tracks and the PixelJunk Monsters music album for $3. Let's just end this post and get out clean while we still can. The full North American PSN update can be found after the break. The European PSN update is located in the land of PS3 Fanboy.

    05.15.2008

Well, PS3 owners don't really have much to look forward to this week from the PSN update, but those with a PSP can try out the new Secret Agent Clank demo. Maybe we spoke too soon, some people might be interested in the Rocketmen expansion or the Dragon Ball Z demo. Don't forget that new echochrome levels are now available, although it isn't technically part of the PSN update, it seems worth mentioning here. Find the full NA update after the break. The European PSN update is happily posted in the town square over at PS3 Fanboy.

We're sure PS3 owners can carve out a little time today from all the GTA IV and echochrome playing to check out the demo for "exclusive" shooter Haze. Of course, what most are probably excited about is that PixelJunk Monsters' expansion is out today at a reasonable $6 price. There are also plenty of other little interesting things in the North Amercan update that might pique some of your interests, and it can all be found after the break. The lists for this week's double dose of European PSN updates can be found over at PS3 Fanboy. It's time for North America to experience the full perception contorting reality of echochrome with this week's PSN update. For those not sure about putting down $10 for the 56 MC Escher-inspired levels, don't be afraid to try out the demo first. Also, Happy PSN Canadian Equality Day! Today's the day that Canada begins getting charged the same price as the United States for PSN titles. Europe has an update too ... we're sure they aren't happy, but there's an update. Check it out -- or not -- at PS3 Fanboy. This week's North American PSN update can be found after the break. %Gallery-11823%

  • Canada getting PSN price adjustment due to strong currency

    04.30.2008

Sony just sent out a press release stating on May 1 there'll be a price adjustment for Canadian PlayStation Store customers in response to the strengthening Canadian dollar. The prices will be adjusted in phases prior to the regularly scheduled update.Although it wasn't in the press release, we spoke with Sony and have been told that the adjustment will lead to "price parity" between the United States and Canada. Meaning that something which costs $5 USD in the US PSN will cost $5 CDN in Canada. Enjoy the equality, Canada.

Happy echochrome demo day! But, for those not in the mood to Escher their minds, there may be a couple other things in this week's PSN update to pique your interest. What a week it's been for the PSN! A new store, a Tuesday update and now we get back into the snug confines of routine with a normal Thursday update. The big deal this week, to those who consider "real driving simulators" precious, is that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue can now be purchased on PSN without ever having to deal with those filthy hobbitsez at retail.Warhawk's expansion, Operation Broken Mirror, is also available for download and there's a discount bundle for those who didn't purchase the Omega Dawn expansion. Don't forget to grab the analog control update if you own DOTY (disaster of the year) Lair. Along with a revamped PSN Store, we usher in the return of PSN Thursdays Tuesdays. Since we're already welcoming back the store and updates, we should probably say something to Lair, who just flew in under our radars with an update to make the game playable -- not only with rumble but also analog controls. He's looking kind of lonely over there in the corner. Also this week, Super Stardust HD expands its universe with new modes: Endless, Survival, Bomber and Time Attack. Arcade Mode now features the Easy difficulty. A new Retro soundtrack has also been addedUpdate: SCEA has confirmed that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will headline the return on PS Store's regularly scheduled Thursday updates this week (April 17th). We'll post the full release list when it becomes available.Check out the complete list of this week's content after the break. For a listing of Europe's goodies, head over to PS3 Fanboy.
