Ever since we reported that Scene It? Twilight would grace the Wii and DS, we've gotten countless emails looking for the hot scoops on this new product. Well, would-be Bellas and Edwards, you may want to sink your teeth into the Nintendo Channel today, as there's a smoking hot new video about the game. In short: it's pretty much just like the regular Scene It? game. Head past the break for the full list of this week's content.

  • 'Scene It? Twilight' dazzles Wii this autumn, DS in 2010

Oh my gawd, oh my gawd, the twinkly blood-suckers of Twilight are coming to Wii in a Scene It? game this fall! Yes, the vampire franchise -- with only one released movie under its coffin -- will be the subject of an entire multimedia-based trivia game for Wii, featuring some 500 multiple-choice questions based on clips, music and audio from the film. There are no details about the DS version of the game, which will release sometime next year. (There's also no mention of an Xbox 360 or PS3 version.) We'd call this the "shovelware cash-in of trivia games," but we'd be afraid that in doing so, pale, starving actors covered in glitter would come and suck our blood -- accompanied by throngs of enraged tweens and housewives that would rip our lifeless bodies to shreds. So ... we'll just call it not the game for us.

  • Scene It? *will* use BUZZ! controllers (on PS3™)

The battle of the console-exclusive peripheral-wielding weirdly-punctuated trivia games has come to an end ... with PlayStation the victor. WBIE is bringing Scene It?, the former 360-exclusive trivia game, to PS3 and Wii. While the 360 version was bundled with a set of special Scene It? controllers, the PS3 and Wii versions of the game will let you simply use your ol' fashioned DualShocks and Wii Remotes. But what if you want to use a wacky peripheral? Don't fret, as you'll be able to use your BUZZ! controllers with Scene It?. Considering many of the modes of Scene It? require buzzing in, the translation is incredibly faithful.

Great news: Holiday shopping for that uncle or aunt you don't know that well but think might have a game system just got a lot easier. The Scene It? franchise is branching out this holiday season from the 360, bringing Scene It? Bright Lights! Big Screen! to the Wii and PS3, as well as to Microsoft's box. As an added bonus, the release makes no mention of special controllers for the Wii or PS3 version of the game, so hopefully Uncle Ernie won't be able to guess the gift from the size of the package.

Capitalizing on the movie award season, Microsoft will be releasing the first set of downloadable content for Scene It? Box Office Smash. The 560 Award Winners pack, as it's called, will be available Friday, February 13th and come packed with over 300 questions that are targeted towards over two dozen award winning films. With all of the NXE excitement going around, it might have been easy to forget that Avatar support is now available for Scene It? Box Office Smash. It might have been easy to forget, except that we're totally reminding you about it right now. All you have to do is pop the game in and download the title update. Voila, instant Avatar support. And now, if you'll excuse us, we'll just go back to waiting for Avatar support in Left 4 Dead*. The freaky machinima possibilities alone will be worth the wait.*Avatar support for Left 4 Dead is not in the works and is something we made up (unfortunately).

It's funny. The reaction to both a nuclear disaster and the release of a long-awaited sequel is essentially the same. You want to stock up on food and supplies, get indoors, seal the exits, and come to terms with the fact that you may never see your family again. Yes, Fallout 3 comes out this week. There are other games coming out this week too. You can read about those below. You know, if you want. Fallout 3 Guitar Hero World Tour MotoGP 08 Scene It? We're actually leading with an apology this time on Dem-o-rama. We're sorry about the inclusion of Scene It? Box Office Smash! (now available in demo form on Xbox Live). We know that you probably couldn't care less, and even if you could, we imagine that you could wrap your mind around what the experience will be like without the aid of a demo. But we have a good excuse! We needed something to pair with the utterly charming World of Goo, which now has a downloadable demo (via BigDownload) that constitutes about one-fifth of the actual game. You should really be playing that now, instead of reading this. Go ahead, we don't mind.Source -- Demo: Scene It? Box Office Smash!Download -- World of Goo Demo

  • Scene It? Box Office Smash lands in retail Oct. 28

Microsoft has announced that Scene It! Box Office Smash will be hitting retail on October 28, which will likely serve as a saving grace for the Joystiq staffers who had no idea what else to do for Halloween. The game will cost $40 by itself or $60 in a bundle with four Big Button pad controllers. Truth be told, we had a lot of fun with the first game, Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action! And any game that draws sketches of construction workers playing with dolls meets our approval. Also of note, Box Office Smash! is being touted as "the first game to debut with the New Xbox Experience's player Avatars," which can be used as your in-game character. We don't think this is an indication that the New Xbox Experience is coming out this month, as there are likely placeholders available, but it certainly raises an eyeybrow.%Gallery-33895%

Scene It: Box Office Smash and You're In The Movies has just been announced exclusively for the Xbox 360. Scene It: Box Offlice Smash continues the movie trivia experience and takes it online. With more questions and mini-games the online experience should be a great addition to the fun party title.Utilizing the Xbox Live Vision camera, players can create short 'B' movies with their families by participating in mini-games that are later combined into a short movie trailer. While it might sound strange, Xbox executives demoed the game live during the conference and it was quite entertaining (as seen above). Both are expected to ship this holiday. As an added bonus, You're In The Movies also includes the required Xbox Live Vision camera when it ships.

Best Buy also discounted a few accessories, offering the Messenger Kit for $20, Wireless Headset for $50 and Vision Camera for $30. Now run along and have a spectacular time shopping.

As hard as they tried, Microsoft just couldn't keep the lid on this week's Microsoft Gamers Day 2008 announcements as we just got word that both Viva Piñata and Scene It? are getting sequels. It looks like we now know what Rare's secret project is. Mention of both sequels was discovered on one of Microsoft's press sites, where someone accidently uploaded all of the categories for this week's MGD08 announcements including categories for Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise and Scene It? 2. And being the good reporters that we are, we went out and confirmed that both of these two unannounced titles are in fact listed on Microsoft's press site, though all game media has since been pulled. But not before the crew over at NeoGAF grabbed screenshot love from the Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise folder. So, not only do we get leaked word that Viva Piñata and Scene It? sequels are headed our way, but we also get a first look at Trouble in Paradise! Enjoy the screens! %Gallery-22615%

And so it begins, a November to end all Novembers. Within the next month, we will be positively assaulted with new and wonderful Xbox 360 games. The summer wasn't exactly thin, especially as summers tend to go for video games, but the sheer amount of games dropping this month alone -- good games, mind you -- is ridiculous. But let's not get ahead of ourselves thinking about the impending arrival of Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Kane & Lynch, and Rock Band (to name a few). No, let's concentrate on this week's titles. One thing at a time, as it were. So, this week we have: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare F.E.A.R. Files Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War Scene-It LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga Cabela's Big Game Hunter We have something of a soft spot for Scene-It, but we imagine the majority of you are most excited for Call of Duty 4. We don't blame you either, all of us here at X3F were addicted to its online leveling system during the beta in earlier this year.Don't get too excited though. We've got three more weeks of high caliber releases to come. You might want to start your financial planning now.

Got the family or friends around? Then go test the Scene It demo now on Xbox Live. Sure, you won't get the fancy big controllers that come with the game (pictured), but it's a good chance to see if it'll be worth picking up this holiday season. The only thing it says in the Xbox Marketplace description currently is "sell," but if the full game is anything like the demo they'll have no problems doing that. Scene It can either be family friendly fare or diabolic drinking game. The full Scene It is expected Nov. 6 and will retail for $60, which includes the four big button controllers. There is currently no other announced use in the future for these controllers beyond Scene It and its guaranteed XBM expansion packs. We're just going to go ahead and say it again: We want XBLA You Don't Know Jack![Thanks Squeedom]

Doh! Yesterday we kind of missed out on announcing that a new Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action demo was available on the XBLM to all Xbox Live regions (except Asia folks). But we live according to the "it's better late then never" mantra, so you're getting the news now and you will like it. Anyhoo, the 619MB Scene It? demo features a look at what the trivia game has to offer, a few test questions and promises a bunch of family fun. The only thing you don't get to experience is the feeling of mashing on the big button controller. We guess it's something you'll only get to try out when you purchase the game ... oh well.

Searching through the deep, dark, dusty and ... drab'ish corners of Xbox.com, Morgon from MyGamerCard.net uncovered a list of all 42 Scene It? achievements. The list of Scene It? achievements (which are all viewable after the jump) is mostly made up of very elementary tasks like answering questions from specific categories, answering "X" amount of questions correctly, etc., etc. So, the game's achievements may not be all that exciting or original, but darn it, the game has a big button controller and we like controllers with big buttons. Any questions? Good. Scene It? achievement list after the jump.[Thanks, Morgon]

  • Wii faces 'definite limit,' says UK's Xbox director

    by
    Ludwig Kietzmann
    Ludwig Kietzmann
    09.27.2007

Well, of course he would say that. Speaking to MCV, Neil Thompson, regional director of the entertainment and devices division at Microsoft UK , offered up some sweet words for Nintendo's Wii -- though not without sticking some tacks in his bowl of commentary candy. "Nintendo are doing very well and they've done a great job at expanding the market in certain areas, " he said, "but there is a limit in terms of what you can do with Wii and there is a very definite limit on the expandability of that product."The statement doesn't give a definite explanation of what "expandability" entails, though chastising the Wii for its comparatively limited technology isn't unheard of. Is there a "definite limit" to the experiences the Wii can provide? Could a world like that presented in BioShock be created on the Wii? Are the system's motion controls any more limiting than a traditional controller, or are they (and products like Wii Fit) critical in the expansion of the gaming audience? "I think in this generation we've absolutely been the innovative force in terms of what a next generation console should look like and how people should think about it," added Thompson. "I don't think we were innovative enough with the first console, so we did learn a lot from that." He goes on to suggest that competitors critical of the Xbox 360's multiple SKU approach might have something to learn from Microsoft's "smart choices" there. "I think you've got to look at what consumers want and offering something unique – and I think Nintendo have done a very impressive job at doing that."
