Gamers can do anything -- and this t-shirt, currently available from Etsy seller disrepair, proves it. This would be a good thing to have on hand the next time someone starts disparaging gamers as useless members of society who lose and start committing random acts of violence. You could just tear open your hoodie and thrust out your chest, superhero-style. Or maybe that's just an us thing.

Whatever you celebrate this time of year, December seems to be when the majority of gifts are exchanged among friends and family. Everyone has their own idea of what is and isn't appropriate in a gift-giving manner, and it's difficult to decide what's best to give, and what we most want to receive. Well, that's where we come in.We have the good fortune of having two of the fae here -- one from the Rogue Isles, and one from Paragon City -- to share with us their views of appropriate gifts for those of you who are playing in NCsoft's realms this holiday season. Their selections range from cost-free, in-game offerings up to something you can tuck under the tree ... or the computer desk, as the case may be.

  • Pandora Digital offers up jersey-styled PMP

This definitely isn't the first gizmo to incorporate some aspect of the NBA into its design, but Pandora Digital's latest goes beyond the logos. The SK-522 not only sports a Houston Rockets motif and a snippet of Yao Ming, but this thing is actually shaped in the form of a basketball jersey. Beyond that, you'll find a 2-inch color display, FM tuner, SD / MMC expansion slot, a rechargeable Li-ion, integrated speaker, a voice recorder and support for MP3, WMA, IMV, JPG and BMP file formats. Unfortunately, it seems that you'll have to phone 'em up to find out how much coin you'll be laying down to take one home (or if any other teams are represented), but how could any warm-blooded season ticket holder resist?[Via PMPToday]

  • Apple Stores to give away Leopard T-shirts

On their standard Retail page, Apple has announced its retail stores will be open from 6:00pm to 10:00pm this Friday (an extra hour for many stores) to celebrate the "Leopard World Premiere." There will be "live demos" and the chance to "test drive" Leopard, presumably on the in-store systems. Best of all, Apple is giving away "a special edition Leopard T-shirt" to the first 500 "guests." So how many of you are planning to be in line to snag one of those shirts?

  • Animated WiFi detector shirt keeps you single with signal

Life's great priorities -- human interaction and network access -- seem to exist in perpetual tension, but those of you who know exactly where you stand might want to check out this WiFi-detector shirt, which will simultaneously inform passerby that a WiFi network is nearby and that they probably don't need to speak to you. The detachable detector / display combo runs off three AAA batteries for "hours" -- just long enough for you to alienate the locals before heading back to your parents' basement. Scarily enough, it's already out of stock, but ThinkGeek should have more in a couple weeks for $30.[Via jkOnTheRun]

It's been a long week filled with Zeldalicious fun, but it has to end sometime. While the themed coverage will continue through Sunday, this is the last of our week long edition of Show and Tell. We're as sad as you are, and we didn't even get through everyone's submissions! If you didn't see your stuff featured here, don't fret -- we'll continue to take our weekly look at your gaming gear, and so there's still plenty of chances for us to revisit some of this week's submissions. As for today's edition, we wanted to focus on the biggest and the best -- and that means collections. Some of you had some really nice sets of Zelda gear, and this day's for you. Check out the gallery below to see everything, including half of reader Kimya's collection. Yes, half -- the other half is back home in Spain, but she has a Flickr set she keeps adding things to as well. We said wow.%Gallery-8197%

Maybe we can't all ink our love for Zelda into our flesh, like the folks in yesterday's edition (which has been updated; don't miss the new tats!), but we can wear it in various ways. T-shirts are popular, of course, but we've seen jewelry and more in the past. There is no limit to creativity when it comes to draping our bodies with game gear, which is why today's Show and Tell is dedicated to wearable items of all types. We've got quite a few specimens after the jump -- so check 'em out!Do you have some awesome Zelda gear? Anything from t-shirts to tattoos, to statues and standees, if it features Link, we want to help you show it off. Snap some pics and send 'em to showmeit [at] dsfanboy [dot] com. We'll be here all week.

Next week we'll be celebrating the release of The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass on the DS here in North America, and in honor of the Game of the Year title's debut, we would love to do a special edition of our weekly feature, Show and Tell. We want to see your Zelda-related gear! Anything from t-shirts to tattoos, to statues and standees, if it features Link, we want to help you show it off. We may even break tradition and feature more than one reader. It all depends on what you send us at showmeit [at] dsfanboy [dot] com.

This is the shirt Microsoft was handing out to attendees at their Community and International Press Party. All they had left by the time we strolled in were mediums, but we'll be giving this shirt away to one lucky reader who can hopefully squeeze their massive girth into its slim width. Our remedial Japanese translates the text as "Save Cortana." But if she's software, does Control-S count?

Welcome to Monday, first day of the work week for those of us with such desk-chaining schedules. Today's prize is a way to brighten your Monday: a t-shirt! No, not a cool "Somebody's Got a Case of the Mondays" tee, like this one. It's our limited-edition TUAW shirt, the first of its kind, with supplies running pretty low at this point (we're hoping the winner wears a small, but we'll accommodate as we can). To sweeten the deal, today's winner also gets an Ambrosia pack, complete with t-shirt, cap, mug and neat-o pack of playing cards. To enter, leave a comment on this post between 5AM and 11:59PM EST on August 27. Validate the comment for it to qualify, and only one per person please. Full rules on our TUAW Back-to-School Giveaway page. It's easy to forget that brothers Mario and Luigi actually have day jobs, since they're so busy driving go karts, smashing mushrooms, and playing dress-up, but this shirt serves as a reminder that the dynamic duo can also take care of those pesky U-bend clogs for you. If they were real, we would totally call them for all our plumbing needs. This awesome celebration of plumberdom is available on a new t-shirt from TopatoCo, and is conveniently available in both Mario and Luigi's colors, so there's no need to ignore the other brother. Poor Luigi is so often forgotten.

Perhaps calling it a back-to-school giveaway is bad. Whether or not you're going back to school right now you're eligible to win one of our prizes. To be honest, there's nothing particularly scholarly about the prizes either. It's just an excuse to give away 14 rounds of prizes. For the next 14 days (excluding weekends) TUAW will give away 14 different prize packages. Some "packages" will be a TUAW shirt with some Ambrosia gear. One day will indeed be an Apple lunchbox, as seen at the Apple Store in Cupertino, aka the Company Store. And one lucky day will feature an iPhone as a prize. The catch is that each day is a surprise, and each day is a completely new entry period. Again, limited to the 50 US states, you must be 18 and we insist on one entry per person per day, but with 14 chances your chances are that much nicer. Each day we'll open a new post for comments from 5AM-11:59PM. To enter, leave a comment on that post (make sure it appears, check your email). To see full rules, go to our TUAW Back-to-school giveaway page. Today's prize? A TUAW shirt (we've got sizes XL, L, M and S) and an Ambrosia "swag pack" containing a shirt, hat and deck of playing cards. Tomorrow's prize? Oh, you almost had me. Stay tuned.

Threadless, the hep cats who brought you the Bioshock t-shirt contest, are going back to the old school with their latest video game-inspired contest: PaRappa the Rapper. Things are just getting underway and, already, one of our favorite designs – this PaRappa meets 8 Mile mashup – has been dropped early. If that doesn't embody the "I gotta BELIEVE!!!" theme, we don't know what will. Maybe Chop Chop Master Onion? We just don't know what to believe anymore ...

  • More fan-created Phoenix Wright: Ace Apparel

    by
    JC Fletcher
    JC Fletcher
    07.17.2007

We're slowly gathering entries for our yet-to-be-announced Phoenix Wright Shirt Makers' Club. These elite crafters have decided to express their fandom for Capcom's graphic adventure series and its characters in the most reverent way they know: by giving Phoenix Wright a place of honor on the front of a t-shirt. The latest, from reader Maxy, goes beyond the limitations of home crafting. Maxy's sister has access to professional apparel-printing machinery at a uniform company, and transferred this iconic image of Phoenix on what looks like a 3/4 sleeve baseball shirt. Maya Fey, as pictured on the Gyakuten Saiban boxart, appears on the back. It's kind of unfair that we can't follow Maxy's example and make one of these! It may be unfair enough to warrant an OBJECTION! No, it's just kind of unfair.

  • The 70's called, they want their Valhalla back

    by
    Dustin Burg

    07.16.2007

The Bungie Store hopped into their (Microsoft paid for) time machine and traveled to the 1970's to learn about disco, big hair, and the artistic design. Then, they jumped back into their time machine, made a rest stop in 1992 for some Crystal Pepsi, and arrived back in 2007 to offer up a new 70's inspired tshirt. The tshirt is none other the Valhalla Tee with what the description calls Barracuda Fastback stripes and enough retro style to make you one cool cat. It is $16.95, but how can you put a pricetag on something that is so studly and took so much time travel research to create?

  • Shyno SMS t-shirt, text the ones you love

    06.29.2007

Shyno of Milan has come up with a unique way to send messages of love or hate to strangers you spy wearing one of its SMS shirts. When you pick up the SMS shirt at a retailer that carries them -- we're thinking Italy only -- you receive a card with a code to register your t-shirt's unique id and mobile number on the Shyno site. Now when you are out clubbing, at the beach or what not all a shy admirer has to do is simply fire off an SMS to short-code 48200 with the number emblazoned on the back of your shirt, their words of adoration, and presto, the message is delivered to your cell. We're totally seeing this as a fun thing at festivals and the like to help get in touch with folks you just have to meet, we hope to see this idea over here soon.[Via textually.org]

  • This is why we're dorks

    by

Considering the amount of remixes Mims' hit rap single "This is Why I'm Hot" set off -- R. Kelly's "This is Why I'm Cold," the NBA's "The Phoenix Suns Are Hot," and Chubbs' "This is Why I'm Fat" for example -- we're surprised that it took this long for its catchy hook to reach video gaming's catch-phrase-hungry communities. Mirroring Mims' insipid lyrics, the simplicity of SnorgTees' shirt design leaves no room for confusion on its message or the company's plans to rake in crazy money by exploiting our nostalgia-addled minds. We can imagine the office congratulations and "props" received by the young designer who paired the 8-bit fire flower with the narcissistic mantra. They all agree, this is why he's hot. The $16.95 shirt comes in royal blue and black, its lowercase Myriad Pro text staying chalky white on both colors. If you haven't heard the song several hundred times already, you have the option of checking past the post break for an embedded music video of the club track.
