It has been a few weeks since we have had the chance to do one of these but luckily Apple has been too busy as well to update the site with loads of content. They have only added a few new high-def movie trailers to their site and even though today might be a bad day for bandwidth (for Apple - not us), ah, what the heck. First up is Driving Lessons staring one of the boys from those popular Harry Potter flicks. The clip of course looks good in high-def, we love the transitions, but the movie looks surprisingly good. Give it a chance. But if you only have time in your busy day to watch one of these high definition clips, you must watch A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints. Wow. Looks amazing in HD but to be honest, this movie is going to be all about the content and most people would be happy with a 480i version if the flick turns out to be half as good as the preview. Lets Go To Prison looks funny and you might just need a laugh or two after Saints. If you are new to this, start at the 1080p option if you have a 'beefy' computer, but more then likely you are going to need to drop down to ether the 720p or 480p option if the system is a little older. That's fine though, the 720p and 480p clips still look great. Enjoy!

Here's a longer, larger version of that Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway trailer from a day ago. I still say there's nothing more touching in video game land than having a sqadmate pick shards of metal out of your bloody arm.[Thanks Snuggles420]

We've finally gotten into the show floor and begun to process the sensory assault of sound, images, and booth babes. The shroud is lifting though, and we're finally able to make sense of what we're seeing. One of the highlights thus far: the extended 15-minute trailer of Metal Gear Solid 4. Sure, it was shown off last night at Konami's (very) exclusive press conference, but now they're showing it off on the show floor at their booth, every hour on the hour. The first showing was understandably underpacked, but we expect the future showings to attract legions of fanboys. Kojima's next masterpiece looks incredible, if completely devoid of gameplay footage.[Thanks for the tip to the direct-feed LaughingMan]

All hail Master Chief. As you probably already know, the trailer for a little game called Halo 3 is now available for download on XBLM. The pic above is from the MS keynote. I hear the Marketplace is slammed, but you can check it out here as well. Does this first glimpse meet your high Halo expectations?

IGN confirms (albeit via independent sources who talked to MS execs) that the first glimpse of Halo 3 will debut at E3 in the form of a two minute trailer. They also speculate that the content will include pleny of actual gameplay to contrast Phony's...er...Sony's Potemkin video village from last year's show. Hope so.Given Microsoft's stated plan to promote their E3 bling on Xbox Live, is it safe to say the next-gen version of  Master Chief will be gracing our HD displays in just over a week?[Thanks SickNic]

  • Lost Planet demo due May 9

Capcom's ice cold 360 title Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions isn't supposed frost the shelves until Q1 2007. But, according to the latest game trailer available on XBLM (also here), a playable demo will release May 9, capping a week of Lost downloadable content. That doesn't necessarily mean the release date for the full game has been moved up. Still, it's pretty cool to see an E3-ready early demo on Xbox Live instead of the usual two week lead. • Xbox Movie Showcase launches

Microsoft and Paramount Pictures have struck a marketing deal that will bring Paramount movie trailers like Mission Impossible 3 and Nacho Libre to Xbox Live starting April 12, not to mention  the opportunity to sqare off against Tenacious D: The Xbox Movie Showcase content includes HD movie trailers, exclusive theme packs, and graphics allowing Xbox gamers to customize their gaming experiences, theming their Xbox Live experience to "M:i:III" and "Nacho Libre." In addition, as part of this first-of-its kind agreement, stars of Paramount films, including Jack Black, will participate in Xbox's "Game with Fame," where gamers can enter for a chance to play a game online against their favorite celebrities. Taking the program off-line, Paramount's DVDs will be featured in a Digital Entertainment Lifestyle video promoted across Xbox kiosks in 30,000 retail stores worldwide. Real movie stars on XBL, eh? Is there any chance Scientology-crazed A-lister Tom Cruise will stop jumping on the couch long enough to pick up a wireless controller?  I'd like to know what L. Ron Tom and his silent birth bizarro bride thought about the Epsilon Program in GTA: San Andreas.

  • Widget Watch: HBO Widget

I haven't been this impressed with a widget's capabilities in a long time. The HBO widget is highly functional and eye candy-infused, allowing you not only to check the program guides for both HBO and Cinemax channels, but you can browse and view their 'large collection' of teasers right inside the widget. Top that all off with a really slick minimizing ability to get all this intensive content out of your way when you'd rather save the cycles, and I think I've found the latest widget to receive a 'click of my mouse™.'The widget is, of course, free and available from HBO's site.[via Daring Fireball]
