What's with all the great ads from and for Nintendo lately? Even without knowing Japanese, these new Lunar Knights ads have us ready to kick a little vampire ass. Everything we've seen so far from Django and Sabata (er, Aaron and Lucian) has been so uniformly good that we're starting to worry that the game itself will be a disappointment. We're keeping some fingers crossed. We've embedded both the short and long commercials after the jump. Enjoy!

You said it, Stella. Especially now that there's a nifty preorder bonus, we're also tired of waiting to fight the legions of darkness. Bring on Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin! Thanks to IGN and their giant watermark department, however, we've got some new screenshots to tide us over for a while.Check after the jump for a few more, including some shots of Charlotte bringing the beats, which we rarely get to see.

Sometimes we get a little sulky and insist that Japan gets all the really fun stuff. The Japanese trailer for the forthcoming Lunar Knights makes the game look like a lighthearted romp with, y'know vampires. Light-hearted, killer vampires. Even the names in the Japanese version are more exciting. We get Aaron and Lucian -- they get Django and Sabata. How do you replace a name like Django? Can you really pull off a full-throated, primal roar with a name like "Aaron" or "Lucian?" No. But you sure can with Django. Go ahead, give it a try.Now isn't that better? The new site is open, and check after the jump for the spicy new trailer.

Konami with a vampire hunting game? Say it ain't so! But there's nary a Belmont in Lunar Knights (psst, don't call it Boktai), the action RPG coming to the DS in November. Like the newest installment in that other gothic franchise, Lunar Knights features two heroes: Lucian and Aaron. But they're not exactly regular guys -- their power is dependent on a solar cycle, with Lucian's power waxing at night and waning during the day, when Aaron comes to the fore. The top screen of the DS will display weather and solar cycle effects. This new 'paraSOL' system (how's that for a pun?) will impact every aspect of the game, from the polar opposite heroes to the enemies they face. As Aaron and Lucian fight to save their futuristic world from a dark fate at the hands of an undead army, they are supported by Terrenials, embodiments of the elements the world is built from. These Terrenials have their own attacks and can enhance the man characters, allowing them to take on even more powerful forms. And just because space vampires are awesome, when the planet-side evil is vanquished, Lucian and Aaron blast off for all new adventures as they try to dispose of their enemies once and for all. We're not quite sure how the light/dark cycle might function there, but the Terrenials, at least, accompany our heroes into the final frontier for further support.
