Sure, Extra Life's Scott Johnson often uses Pac-Man and Mario for a topic, but the sheer combination, cleverness, and timing with the new Championship Edition give him the edge for game-related webcomic of the week.Coming in second place is Dueling Analogs and third place goes to Penny Arcade. A special kudos to Digital Unrest because we love (a) science jokes and (b) the sheer probability of the situation. Thanks to everyone who voted, and be sure to let us know of any gaming comics you stumble upon this week! (And for those who tipped us off in Saturday's post, no worries we've got you noted.)

It's the picture that sells it, really, and presentation can be just as important in a webcomic as content. Despite the usual, numerous objections in the comment section, Scott Ramsoomair's VG Cats strip took the top spot as the week's best webcomic.Coming in second place was the second Penny Arcade strip, "Retreat to the Citadel," (we favored the first strip, ourselves) while third place went to Ctrl+Alt+Del. We don't know who made this fine work of art (if you do, please tell us), but we love it. Ctrl+Alt+Del's take on the Starcraft 2 announcement earned top honors in this week's webcomic wrapup. The punchline may have been explained a bit too much, as many of the commenters noted, but it didn't ruin the joke.Second and third place go to RPG-TV and Weird Comix, respectively. Riding off the coattails of Spider-Man 3's massive box office success this weekend (we kid because we love), 2P Start took top honors for this week's best game-related webcomic. What we love most is the comic's simplicity and its decision to avoid any and all text.Ctrl+Alt+Del made second place, while the first Penny Arcade (about Spider-Man 3: The Game) and Dueling Analogs duke it out for third place. "You put two comics from Penny Arcade in the poll? OMG TEH BIAS!"Now that we've gotten that out of the way, we laughed too hard at two of the Penny Arcade strips to try and choose a favorite. Also, with the Ghost of E3 looming over our heads and industry folk pouring press releases into our inbox like milk to our cereal bowls, we haven't had the time this weekend to peruse the internets for upstart contenders, so all of these entrants have made their mark on the webcomic wrapup sometime before. Here are our picks for the best game-related webcomics this week; be sure to vote for your favorite! Jeremy Parish from 1UP is known for adding a little flair to his reviews. Like turning them into full-fledged comics and rhyme. Such is the case here with Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. Almost, at least -- Parish eventually scrapped the idea and went a more conventional route. Fortunately for our interests, he posted the unfinished project his personal blog GameSpite. We applaud the effort in making reviews more interesting and eye-catching, and of course for using pretty pictures. What a fitting way to send off the 300 "This is Sparta!" gag by honoring one of the best gaming representations of the joke -- namely, Scott Ramsoomair's VG Cats. Second place goes to Rooster Teeth and third place belongs to Slackerz. Thanks to everyone who voted; now that we've seen pretty much every noun possible as a replacement for "Sparta," any repeat of the gag would have to be really clever for us to consider it. (And no, you can't get away with simply replacing the subject and/or verb.) Be sure to let us know of any gaming comics you stumble upon this week!

We've posted crazy eBay auctions before, mostly concerning massive collections. This is a bit more unique.Extra Life's Scott Johnson has sketched his rendition of Mario on what we hope is a brand new toilet seat. Of course, the jokes regarding an Italian plumber (never seen on the job, mind you) immortalized on porcelain are far too many. Johnson is putting the seat on eBay; the proceeds go to the charitable cause of himself -- specifically, he's putting it towards Photoshop CS3. Current bid is $72 and the minimum for Photoshop is $199 for the basic CS3 upgrade. The time lapse of his creation, featured on Extra Life TV #9 , is embedded after break.

Those who follow the webcomic wrapup religiously might have noticed a few common trends lately: the frequent citations of Guitar Hero and the overuse of 300. Not just the movie, mind you, but the same frackin' scene in every webcomic: "This ... is .... [insert punchline here]!"We here at Joystiq would like to extend a heartfelt word to the artists: "thanks, it was funny, but if we see another one we're going to throw ourselves into the bottomless pit, thank you very much." With these last two comics, we mark the end of a short era. Enjoy them this week, for you'll never see 300 again on the wrapup. Now, with that bit of optimism out of the way, here are our picks for best gamings. Be sure to vote for your favorite! Koopa!
