Sony has unveiled the ZV-1F, its third and most affordable vlogging camera, designed for creators as a "step up" from smartphones.
Ricoh's Theta Z1 shoots 360-degree RAW images for $999
Ricoh has unveiled the Theta Z1, a 360-degree camera that offers near-professional features for a price. It's got a pair of backside-illuminated 1-inch sensors and variable apertures that let you shoot 23-megapixel images at f/2.1, f/3.5 and f/5.6. On top of that you can shoot RAW photos and 360-degree, 4K video. That makes it potentiallly very interesting for professional or semi-pro projects, especially as a "B" or secondary camera.
Samsung Spinpoint A1 resurrects 1-inch microdrive format with 30, 40GB
Just when you thought the 1-inch microdrive format was dead and gone, along comes Samsung -- masters of flash memory, especially in portables -- with their own 3600RPM 30 and 40GB CompactFlash-sized (42.8 x 36.4 x 5mm) drives. Surprisingly enough, they're shipping now for $200.
Pocketec's Nano 12GB USB 2.0 hard disk drive
There was a time we'd fawn over 12GB of hard disk storage in package this small. But 16GB flash drives already pop for about $150 on-line. Still, it's always good to see Seagate's 1-inch drive rolled out as product. The Pocketec Nano goes 38×48×15-mm / 48-grams and brings a USB 2.0 connector which discretely folds into the unit.
