So here's the deal: our editorial duties are being stretched to the max tomorrow and we're unable to do a live podcast during the weekend, so we're hereby calling an emergency late night edition of the Engadget Mobile podcast, live at the bewitching hour of 11:30PM ET (8:30PM PT and 3:30AM GMT). The good news is that you'll still be treated to your weekly dosage of rants, opinion, and all-around goofiness. The better news is that if you usually listen to our recordings, you'll get it even sooner! So join Myriam, Brad and special guest Joseph Volpe in a fireside chat as we help keep you awake tonight. Update: And we're done! Thanks to everyone who joined us tonight, and we'll have the podcast up as soon as we can.

We're not going to let a Burning Man get in the way of our weekly podcast, are we? That's a negatory, as the Engadget Mobile Podcast lives on in Myriam Joire's absence. Co-host Brad Molen is still behind the mic offering his soothing sounds, and in to help him hit the weekly rant quota are special guests Zachary Lutz and Dante Cesa. Join us, won't you, for another round of mobile goodness? Be here at 5PM ET (2PM PT, 9PM GMT) for Episode 102.

The Engadget Mobile Podcast started in December 2008 with a couple guys and a dream; a desire to bring you the week's best (and worst) mobile haps to keep you up to speed. 976 days and 100 podcasts later, that dream is still being made into reality week after week -- and today's special edition is yet another way to prove that. And there's no better way to show our gratitude for all of your support than to keep doing what we know best: deliver the latest and greatest in mobile. The difference this time is that hosts Myriam Joire and Brad Molen are literally doubling their vocal cords by inviting on Noah Kravitz (of TechnoBuffalo and PhoneDog fame) and our very own Richard Lai. Sounds like a good time, right? Be there at 5PM ET (that's 2PM PT / 9PM GMT) to join in on the celebration!

We interrupt the end of this crazy workweek for a special podcast. Y'know, one of those 90 minute (or longer, in recent weeks) audio recordings where two or more people get together around a mic and chat about mobile topics. The difference this week? We may or may not have a special guest. You definitely don't want to miss it. Join us for the 99th edition of the Engadget Mobile Podcast, live at 5:30PM ET (2:30PM PT / 9:30PM GMT)!

Are your ears ready for our most Sensational podcast yet? HTC dropped a dual-core bomb on central London this week with its super-specced new Android smartphone, but somehow that managed to be only the second awesome announcement of the day, after Nokia reached into its bag of tricks and whipped out the new E6 Symbian handset with the sickly pixel density of 326ppi. It'll be accompanied to market by the entertainment-savvy X7, with both phones shipping with the latest Symbian Anna OS installed. Should you be interested in Nokia's more distant future, we also dropped by Microsoft's MIX 11 developer conference this week, where Windows Phone 7's Next iteration made us positively giddy with excitement. Like we say, it's gonna be sensational. Tune in to this post to hear it all live!

So we're all out in Barcelona for MWC this week, which... you know, would explain the odd time of the podcast, wouldn't it? • Engadget Mobile turns 5 today -- help us celebrate with a Motorola Aura giveaway!

    by
    Chris Ziegler
    Chris Ziegler
    02.13.2011

On this fateful day in 2006, Engadget Mobile was born -- and the world has never been the same. Of course, we never would've made it this far without you, our dear readers, so we wanted to give something back... and we think you'll like what we've come up with. The Motorola Aura is one of the most unique handsets ever to come out of Schaumburg, featuring a circular display covered with a 62-carat sapphire crystal along with a rear window that lets you marvel at the action of the watch movement-like swivel mechanism. At its launch in late 2008, it retailed for some $2,000 in limited quantities -- and it remains a collector's item today. It won't out-game your iPhone or out-email your BlackBerry, of course... but as an evening or weekend phone, there's probably not a better conversation piece out there. Want it? Read the rules and regs below! Thanks to Motorola for providing us with the Aura! The rules: Leave a comment below. Any comment will do. You may only enter this specific giveaway once. If you enter this giveaway more than once you'll be automatically disqualified, etc. (Yes, we have robots that thoroughly check to ensure fairness.) If you enter more than once, only activate one comment. This is pretty self explanatory. Just be careful and you'll be fine. Contest is open to all residents of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, and Canada (excluding Quebec), 18 or older! Sorry, we don't make this rule (we hate excluding anyone), so be mad at our lawyers and contest laws if you have to be mad. Winners will be chosen randomly. One winner will receive one Motorola Aura. If you are chosen, you will be notified by email. Winners must respond within three days of the end of the contest. If you do not respond within that period, another winner will be chosen. Entries can be submitted until Sunday, February 20, 2010, at 11:59PM ET. Good luck! Full rules can be found here.
