Remember that Linux-infused H9 UMPC we spotted last year? Have a look at its proper successor, the Porient H12. The handheld packs a 4.8-inch 800 x 480 resolution display, a 520MHz Intel XScale PXA270 CPU, 2GB of flash storage, an SD / MMC card slot, 802.11b/g WiFi, GPS and DAB / DVB-H / DVB-T tuners. The 10.6-ounce device also features a web browser, RSS reader, multimedia player, PDF viewer and an undisclosed office suite to boot. Pricing has yet to be announced for individual units, though these are available now if you're down with importing vast quantities. And you aren't, so that's that.

As we'd heard hinted at in the past, Motorola has unveiled its new and glitzy MOTOPURE -- these names are getting so old -- H12 Bluetooth headset. Featuring Moto's CrystalTalk dual microphone noise cancellation, diamond cut metal housing, and 5.5 hours talk and 200 hours standby time, if the price's right, it'll likely find its way into ears everywhere. We like that Motorola has included a charging base plus a small carrying case that doubles as both charger and protective case for when not in use. As an added kindness, they've also thrown in a few ear cushions to make your wearing experience a pleasant one. This 12 gram wonder will set you back $99 after rebate -- of the mail-in variety we're afraid -- from your local AT&T store.

  • Motorola prepping new headset, RAZR 2 "Luxury Edition" for holidays

Holy crap, it didn't take long at all for Motorola to start the process of diluting its RAZR 2 brand (sound like a familiar tactic?) with a confusing array of variants and special editions. What happened to "we will not ride one horse to the bitter end again," guys? Ah, well... anyway, the RAZR 2 du jour for the holiday season will be the "Luxury Edition," featuring gold-plated accents on a black background (could look nice or terribly gaudy, we won't know until we see it), an "engraved diamond pattern" on the d-pad, a soft touch rear, and a bunch of bundled accessories. No word on whether this one will be an EDGE-only V8 or a 3G V9, but if we had to guess, we'd say it'll probably be a V8 to give AT&T a little more exclusive breathing room. Also in the pipe is the H12 Bluetooth headset that appears to be positioned as a higher-end unit. We'll pass along visuals as we get 'em, but in the meantime, follow the break for more details straight from the horse's mouth.[Thanks, anonymous tipster]
