Apparently not content to let ASUS have all the fun, LG's just announced the XPION X30, its first Ion-based nettop. This little fella features an Atom N230 CPU, 2GB of RAM, 250GB HDD, and ships with Windows Vista (for the time being, at least). Aside from sporting six (count 'em!) USB ports, it weighs in at a mere 2.4 lbs, draws just 40 watts of power, and can be VESA mounted to the back of your LCD. But never mind all that -- as long is it allows us to stream American Ninja from Netflix with minimal fuss we're happy. Debuts tomorrow in Korea. %Gallery-73363% [Via SlashGear]

The details have emerged today on a couple new LG "high performance" desktops in Asia, so if you've been lying awake at night wondering when a new XPION would be hitting the scene, perhaps this evening you'll rest a little easier. The R20 is a slim form factor desktop PC featuring a 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Quad CPU, 3GB memory, a GeForce 9500GS GPU, and a cooling system "based on Multi Direction Platform Cooling, which also makes it run fairly quietly." Even less is known about the S20, aside from the fact that it's a standard-sized desktop, sports an Intel Core 2 Quad 2.66GHz CPU and a GeForce 9600GT GPU. That's all we have at the moment, little dude. So just try and relax -- you'll know more as soon as we do.[Via Hallyutech]

In a radical, and we mean radical departure from their XPION x600 series of tombstone towers, LG unleashes their new A10 series of desktop PCs. At just 3.5-inches thin, it comes stuffed with a 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB DDR2 memory, 320GB SATA disk, super-multi DVD, 512MB of nVIDIA Geforce 8500GT graphics, 7.1 channel audio, and a semi-automatic sliding door with a touch of that circular-sensor up front. It's also apparently dead-quiet (other than the hard disk popping) due to embedded "Turbulence Generating Technology" which we presume is some kind of liquid cooling -- just a guess though. Priced without monitor for ???1,130,000 ($1,202).%Gallery-6895%

  • LG's got Blu-ray fever: coughs-up media, player, desktop, and regurgitates writer

LG's been all over the place in the next gen optical disc battles. Today they bring the Blu-ray love in a big way with the introduction of BD media and three consumer level devices: The XPION x600 series PCs, the GBW-H10N Blu-ray burner we've seen before, and a mysterious living room player lacking any deets at all. LG tidied up the GBW-H10N branding by slapping on the "Super Multi Blue" moniker and dropping 'em in their new XPION X600 series desktops. LG, who apparently missed the design memo from Redmond, chose to dress the desktop in drab, and feature Intel's 64-bit, 3.4GHz dual-core Pentium D945 proc, a 320GB disk, 1GB DDR2 memory and nVIDIA's HDCP-enabled GeForce 7900GT graphics cards with 256MB of onboard memory. So yeah, no matter what those media player ISVs decide, these boxes will pump full 1080p HD vid off commercial BDs. Look out for the Super Multi Blue drive and X600 series PCs to drop first in Korea, Germany and France with their Blu-ray media and player scheduled for release sometime before the end of the year.
