  • Biometric wallets keep strange hands off your cash, flummox airport security

When we recently heard that purveyor of luxury men's goods Alfred Dunhill was selling a secure biometric wallet, we were intrigued: who wouldn't want a carbon fiber billfold that only opened with your fingerprint, and alerted you when it lost Bluetooth contact with your cellphone? Cost to the consumer: $700. Sounded like a pretty good deal, at least until we were hepped to a little something called the iWallet. Apparently the same thing (sans the snooty English rebadge), this bad boy is available in a variety of colors, including a fiber glass ($400) or lightweight carbon fiber ($600) case -- and it's made in the good ol' US of A. That said, whichever wallet you do pick will never be as cool as one made from an SNES cartridge.

It's not the first, but it is the, erm, latest solar paneled bag bent on keeping your portable electronics, portable. The Avorities Solar Panel Bag from Dunhill brings those staid Tumi looks favored by suits with the advantage of solar panels to charge a hidden battery. Sorry, Dunhill doesn't provide any detailed specs on the battery or such trivialities as charge time. However, if it's like other models, you can expect it to charge your cellphone in about three-hours assuming the bag's internal battery has been properly charged. The scratch, stain, and water resistant tote measures 38 x 27.5 x 12.5-cm and features magnetic enclosures and "iPod holes" on selected styles. What, you're not waiting around for a price are you 'cause they didn't tell us that either.Update: Price found thanks to Millerand: £665 or $1,316... ouch.[Via Sybarites, thanks James]

Nothing says, 'I love you,' more this holiday season than an iPod Hi-Fi wrapped in Alligator skin. What iPod toting excotic skin lover wouldn't be happy to find this Dunhill Alligator iPod Speaker with their name on it? This is a one of a kind, made to order, item which means it is pricey, but it does use real Alligator skin which is more than I can say about Belkin's iPod accessories.Sadly, Dunhill's website is mostly Flash, so I can't link directly to the Alligator speakers. However, they are the 21st item on the Perfect Gifts list.Pricing starts at £500.[via bookofjoe]
