To be honest, we're not that big on paintball except for when robots or tanks are involved, but special effects man Rick Galinson (of Snakes on a Plane fame, no less) has managed to pique our interest with the sheer badassness of his latest project. He's currently in the process of creating a room-clearing paintball minigun and, as the video on his site shows, he's made some impressive progress. While it can't actually shoot paintballs yet, its 1200 psi of pressure is more than enough to provide an effective and, frankly, scary demonstration with nothing but air. Unfortunately, Rick hasn't given any indication when he expects to finish the thing, but we're guessing that he's gonna keep it for himself when he does; lets just hope that whoever has to stare down the barrel(s) of this thing knows what they're in for.[Via Hack A Day]

Vice City Stories looks like it'll have some truly epic battles. Sure, you have the army men with their automatic rifles, and the tank... but what really gets me excited is the helicopter. It looks absolutely sweet, and the thought of being able to drive that baby, and use its minigun on the go is kick-ass.But, if that seems a bit too Hollywood for you, maybe you'll want to slow things down Hillbilly style. It looks like you can rough up the trailer trash in the game as well. I'm less impressed by the clip below, but maybe you can re-create scenes from Dukes of Hazzard or something. You can download high-res versions of these videos at GameTrailers.com (include an iPod/PSP formatted version). Vice City Stories will hit the PSP exclusively this October.

  • ULTIMATE Lego Chaingun -- not your parents' rubberband gun

Heck yes. We've been trying to utilize our Lego collection for the production of projectile apparatuses ever since the Pirate sets stopped coming with those flickable cannons. Now it seems our sad attempts have been eternally showed up by Sebastian's ULTIMATE Lego Chaingun, which has 8 barrels, a 64 shot capacity, and an eleven rounds per second firing rate. The rubberband chaingun took over a month to build, and is powered by an honest-to-goodness Lego motor. Sebastian has all sorts of ideas how to mod up his gun even more, including an ammo counter or even faster firing rate, but whatever he manages to do it's clear all we're going to be bringing to our next rubberband fight is a white flag. Keep reading for some hot embedded YouTube action of this thing blasting away.[Via digg]
