Eviant introduces 4.3-, 7- and 19-inch digital televisions at CES
Can't say we've ever heard of Eviant, but it's tough to ignore a 4.3-inch television. No, we didn't mistakenly write "television" in place of "digiframe" -- the company is seriously pumping out 4.3-inch (T4) and 7-inch (T7) digital portable televisions, both of which are fully prepared to handle the looming DTV transition. Without any additional hardware, both sets can receive ATSC OTA signals, and there's also a built-in Li-ion battery and inbuilt speakers for good measure. In slightly less amazing news, it's also busting out a 19-inch (T19) digital TV with an integrated ATSC / NTSC tuner, HDMI / S-Video / VGA / composite inputs and a 1,440 x 900 native resolution. Teclast T39: first 16GB flash PMP?
Following up on its fairly eye-catching T19 and T29 PMPs of years past (mainly last year), Chinese manufacturer Teclast has taken the lid off its upcoming, sequentially-named T39 -- whose main claim to fame is that it could well be the first flash-based media player to hit 16GB of storage (feel free to shoot down that assertion in the comments). For those not willing to pay what will likely be a premium for such a capacious device, the 2.6-inch T39 will also come in 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB flavors, all of which support MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC, AVI, and WMV files. With an FM tuner, electronic dictionary (though not in English, we're suspecting), and some kind of games on board as well, it sounds like this one could be a real winner when and if it ever hits the States; as of now, though,we don't have much more than a few specs and pics, so don't go blending your nano just yet. Teclast's other "dual core" DAP, the T19
We see a lot of digital audio players pass through here, but Teclast is one of the first manufacturers we've seen to incorporate a separate processor for audio decoding. Just weeks after we spotted their first so-called "dual core" DAP, the C150, comes another PDA-esque model called the T19, which has the same dedicated Wolfson WM8750 decoding chip as the "C" but adds a 1GB option into the mix. Besides MP3 playback, the "T" features MPEG-1 video support, and sports extras such as an FM tuner, line-in recording and voice recording, along with an eBook reader, dictionary, and calendar. Probably only available in China for the time being, the T19 costs 77 or 90 dollars worth of yuan for the 512MB and 1GB versions, respectively.[Thanks, lionc]
