Electronic paper

Toppan Printing is showing off a wall-sized electronic newspaper using their E-Ink technology at the big EXPO 2005 that's taking place in Aichi, Japan right now.  Called the "Yomiuri Global Newspaper," the electronic paper is 2.2 meters high and 2.6 meter wide and is made up of 272 individual electronic paper tiles, which are a combination of E-Ink frontplanes laminated onto printed circuit boards with pixel electrodes.  Only the headlines and text are actually displayed on the electronic paper, color photos are displayed on a plain old LCD.
