What if whipping up a Moscow Mule or an Old Fashioned was as easy as popping a coffee pod into a Keurig machine? Cocktail bartenders and other libations experts would likely turn up their nose at such an idea. Still, Keurig Dr. Pepper and Anheuser-Busch have seen enough success with sales of their Drinkworks Home Bar in Florida and Missouri to begin expanding. Beginning on September 30th, the automated cocktail machine will be available in California.

I have seen countless companies claim to deliver the Keurig of (fill in the blank). The "Keurig of cocktails" market in particular is crowded with wannabes that don't seem to be gaining much traction -- Barsy, Bartesian, Somabar, Bibo... am I missing any? But now there is a company building a literal Keurig for cocktails. Drinkworks is a joint venture between the single-serving coffee pod giant and Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), and it's building a familiar-looking machine that mixes up cocktails using disposable pods. If anyone can build the Keurig of anything, well, it's got to be Keurig itself, right? The insanely deep pockets of AB InBev certainly don't hurt either.
Anheuser-Busch will haul beer in Nikola hydrogen-electric trucks
The rivalry between Nikola and Tesla is only getting hotter... figuratively speaking. Mere months after ordering 40 Tesla Semis, Anheuser-Busch has ordered "up to" 800 of Nikola's hydrogen-electric semi-trucks to introduce them into its beer-carrying fleet starting in 2020. The deal should help Anheuser-Busch convert its entire long-haul roster to renewable-based trucks by 2025 and will be equivalent to taking over 13,000 cars off the road. As to why it's not just relying on Tesla? One word: range.
Anheuser-Busch wants to deliver beer with Tesla's electric semi-trucks
Anheuser-Busch just joined the list of companies that have placed an order for Tesla's upcoming semi-trucks. In an announcement today, the beer-maker said it has ordered 40 of the trucks that are set to go into production in 2019. "Integrating the Tesla semi-trucks into the brewer's distribution network will help Anheuser-Busch achieve its commitment to reduce its operational carbon footprint by 30 percent by 2025 – the equivalent of removing nearly 500,000 cars from the road globally each year," said the company.
Anheuser-Busch's Alexa skill lists workouts that burn off a beer
Amazon has been expanding its Alexa "skill" plugins to broaden its uses, from streaming NPR to voice-controlling your film and music libraries. If you never expected to ask your device what workout will burn off a single beer's worth of calories...well, we didn't see this coming either. Brewing conglomerate Anheuser-Busch is introducing a plugin skill for Amazon's AI system that lists exercises designed to melt precisely one Michelob ULTRA off your daily tally.
Keurig and Anheuser-Busch work on an in-home beer maker
Just because Keurig didn't succeed with its Kold soda machine doesn't mean it's giving up on the prospect of making cold beverages at home. It's partnering with Anheuser-Busch InBev on developing an "in-home alcohol drink system" -- in other words, a Keurig for booze. It'll build on the technological foundations of the Kold, and the plan is to eventually cover many types of drinks. Beer is the obvious fit given AB InBev's roots, but the companies would like to offer "spirits, cocktails and mixers," among other options.
Bud Light delivery app keeps beer flowing in Washington, DC
It's always a bummer when you run out of beer during the big game. Thanks to Anheuser-Busch InBev, Bud Light drinkers in Washington, DC won't have to trek to the nearest store to replenish their supply. The company announced an app today that allows you to order up to 100 cases (!) of the brew, and promises that it'll arrive at your door in under an hour. AB InBev certainly isn't the first to offer suds delivery, as MillerCoors has already teamed up with Drizly for Miller Lite deliveries in Boston, New York, Seattle and DC. There are also services, like Minibar, that work with local alcohol shops to bring beer, wine and spirits to the front doors of thirsty customers. If you're worried about age verification, the app examines the buyer's credit card info and there's a manual check upon delivery. The app is only available on Android, but an iOS version is on the way. Now that you can get pizza and beer delivered to your house, is there really any reason to leave?
