THQ Nordic says a new Saints Row game is 'deep in development'
THQ Nordic had plenty of updates about upcoming games from its sprawling empire in its latest earnings report. Perhaps the most notable is that its Volition studio is "deep in development" on a new Saints Row game. It didn't offer any information on when to expect the next entry in the popular series, but it'd be the first full title since Saints Row IV in 2013.
Who The Hell Is: Johnny Gat

On Tuesday, gamers will be able to go to Hell – literally – and fight off both Satan himself and hordes of undead in the Saints Row 4 standalone expansion, Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell. Previous Saints Row games have allowed players to customize an avatar which, over the course of the series, rises from lowly street thug to President of the United States and even intergalactic badass supreme. Gat Out of Hell though, does not. In Gat Out of Hell, players will be stepping into the shoes of either Kinzie Kensington or Johnny Gat. Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell pre-orders at GAME get oujia board
If taunting spirits in a video game just isn't enough for you, you might be the type of gamer that developer Volition and publisher Deep Silver are targeting with their Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell pre-order promotion. According to a press release, if you pre-order either Gat Out of Hell for Xbox 360/PS3 or the Saints Row: Re-Elected & Gat Out of Hell combo pack for Xbox One/PS4 at UK retailer GAME, you'll receive a oujia board which you can (supposedly) use to contact the dead. Okay, so it's kind of a weird pre-order bonus, but remember the Dubstep Gun that came in special editions of Saints Row 4? A ouija board (or "Wee-Ja" as this particular model is called) is downright tame compared to what the Third Street Saints gang has in their arsenal. The ouija board also acts as a sort of ticket to a bigger prize. By sending in a picture of the ouija board in use, would-be mediums get entered for a chance to win a night on the haunted town with UK spirit medium, Derek Acorah. Saints Ros 4: Re-Elected and Gat Out of Hell will be summoned to PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC platforms on January 20 in the Americas and January 23 internationally. Deep Silver is auctioning off the real-life Saints Row Genki Mobile
Saints Row publisher Deep Silver is auctioning off a truck based on one of the franchise's vehicles for charity. The studio's 1956 Ford F-100 available for bidding on eBay starts at $7,500 and has just over 80,000 miles on it. The truck is decorated to look strikingly similar to the Genki Manapult truck offered as a pre-order bonus and DLC for Saints Row: The Third. The real-life Genki Manapult vehicle is complete with its trademark cannon, which shoots t-shirts as opposed to people. As of this writing, the auction does not have any bidders. All proceeds for the auction will go to Wings for Life, a not-for-profit spinal cord research foundation that funds "world-class scientific research and clinical trials around the globe aimed at healing the injured spinal cord." Report: Saints Row: The Cooler was canceled THQ brawler
Saints Row: The Cooler appears to have been a fighting game canceled in the twilight years of publisher THQ. Unseen64 reports the brawler, which was in development at Heavy Iron Studios, tried to capitalize on the motion control movement from several years back. Two versions of the game were planned, with one for Xbox 360's Kinect and the other envisioned for PlayStation 3's Move peripheral. Although it was supposed to be a motion controlled fighting game, The Cooler would have also reportedly have featured mini-games like poker tournaments and the ability to "get lap dances." Although, we imagine, providing lap dances would be a far better workout. Gotta work them glutes.
Saints Row: Gat Out Of Hell reveals its colors at PAX Prime [Update: trailer!]
Volition has announced a new Saints Row 4 standalone expansion, titled Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell, during its panel today at PAX Prime 2014. A trailer shows Saints gang members Kinzie and Johnny Gat delving - and this is not a metaphor - into Hell to rescue the Saints Row boss who was promoted to President of the United States during Saints Row 4. Hell is said to be roughly 50 percent the size of Steelport - the city from Saints Row: The Third and Saints Row 4 - and players will be able to fly around the city using demonic wings. Volition is also including weapons themed after Biblical curses and stories, including a gun that fires a plague of locusts, a gun that fires a plague of frogs, and a chair with machine guns and rockets strapped to it, representing sloth - one of the seven deadly sins. There will also be a musical number. The expansion will feature 2-player co-op where one partner plays as Kinzie while the other takes control of Johnny Gat. The expansion will be released January 27, for $19.95. Check out the trailer after the break.

Saints Row 4 is coming to Xbox One and PS4 as Saints Row 4: Re-elected, Volition has revealed. Developer High Voltage is helping with the port, which will contain all the game's released DLC. Wear your colors, Genki's face with Saints Row clothing line
Joining gangs is ill-advised, but wearing the colors of a video game's fake, comedy-oriented group? That probably won't ruin your life! Insert Coin just started initiation with its line of Saints Row clothing, and while a themed varsity jacket or hoodie would boldly represent your crew, you could always don a polo or t-shirt if you'd rather sport some subtlety. As you can see from the shop's imagery, supporting the Saints themselves isn't the only way to show your love for the series: Nods to both Professor Genki and the Saints Flow brand of drinks appear in the wardrobe. The collection's prices range from $30.80 t-shirts up to the $77 varisty-themed jacket, and though fans are welcome to place an order for any garment, the varsity jacket, Professor Genki-themed leggings and Gat's polo are only available for pre-order. Amazon discounts over 1,000 digital PC games
Amazon kicked off its Digital Games Mayhem sale, discounting over 1,000 downloadable PC games. Okay, we didn't count to make sure the retailer had that many games on sale; we were too busy adding the Rockstar Ultimate Collection to our online carts. The bundle features 12 games from the developer at 85 percent off ($25.49), including L.A. Noire, GTA 4 and GTA Vice City. The sale also knocks 75 percent off the Metro Franchise Pack ($12.49), Saints Row Franchise Pack ($18.75) and Batman Mega Bundle ($22.50), the latter of which includes Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Origins in addition to Origins' season pass. As for individual games, Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn is 40 percent off ($14.99), Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut is 55 percent off ($11), NBA 2K14 can be downloaded at 68 percent off ($9.59) and Civilization 5 is 46 percent off ($16.24). Play: Steam games on the cheap thanks to daily Humble Bundles
Your average Humble Bundle is a fortnightly affair. Starting today, however, there's going to be a fresh bundle every 24 hours for a period of two weeks, which ought to add up to some decent savings for Steam gamers. If you've never partaken in one of these bundles before, then it's pretty simple: You visit the site to see what's on offer, choose how much (or how little) you want to pay for a bundle, decide how much of that money you want to allocate to a charity, and then look on in a contented stupor while the new titles magically weave their way into your Steam library. If you head over there today, you can get all the titles listed after the break for around £6 (although the site shows everything in dollars), or even less if you leave out one of the more mediocre titles, Dead Island: Riptide.
