Amazon Prime Video's The Grand Tour is coming back for a third season and it's full of the hijinks you've come to expect from Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. A new trailer gives us a peek at what's in store for season three and along with impressive cars and cool locations, you'll also be able to catch Richard getting his Jeep stuck on a rickety bridge, James playing the bagpipes and Jeremy racing on a lewdly shaped track. The season includes trips to Detroit, Colombia, Mongolia and China, plenty of laughs and even an explosion or two. It debuts January 18th and you can check out the trailer below.

  • ‘The Grand Tour Game’ is a near-perfect mirror of the show

When Amazon announced its Grand Tour video game, I imagined a generic racer with crudely digitized versions of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. The reality, though, is quite different. Amazon Game Studios is developing a title that, in many ways, is a perfect mirror of the Prime-exclusive show. The real-world antics portrayed in the TV series are more than loose inspiration -- they're the template for every race and mission in the game.

If you've enjoyed The Grand Tour on Amazon, here's some synergy you probably didn't see coming: The ecommerce giant's in-house studio is making the show into a video game. Before you ask, yes, hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May lend their voices to the title. But don't expect a one-and-done racing title. The game will be released piecemeal on a weekly basis during Season 3, with each episode featuring cars, locations and content from the show.

Following a bit of a hiatus, Amazon Prime's The Grand Tour will return with season two December 8th. Earlier this year co-host Richard Hammond was involved in a nasty EV wreck with a Rimac Concept One supercar. He fared "mostly OK" according to co-host Jeremy Clarkson at the time. Clarkson himself was hospitalized this year as well, but for entirely different reasons. Namely, he had a particularly nasty case of pneumonia that almost killed him.

It's a scary day for both The Grand Tour viewers and the motoring world at large. Amazon has revealed that show co-host Richard Hammond was involved in a crash while filming Grand Tour's second season in Switzerland. Hammond thankfully escaped with only a fractured knee, but the incident destroyed the Rimac Concept One electric supercar he was driving (the photo above shows what's left). While it's not certain what led to the crash, Amazon notes that there was no one else embroiled in the incident.

Good news: The Grand Tour, Amazon's answer to Top Gear, is now only three days away from release. The bad news is that you'll need a Prime subscription to watch it. Amazon knows this, so it's sweetening the deal by slashing £20 off the price of its annual subscription for anyone who has yet to sign up.

If you've been missing Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, then it's time to mark your calendar. The old Top Gear trio's new show is called The Grand Tour, and will begin streaming its episodes on November 18th. You'll need a subscription to Amazon Prime to watch, but there's no word on if or where it will air in countries where the subscription video service isn't available yet.

'Top Gear' host Chris Evans bails after poor comeback ratings

After a single season at the helm, Chris Evans is stepping down from Top Gear. The presenter, which took over from Jeremy Clarkson and his fellow partners in crime, James May and Richard Hammond, said on Twitter: "(I) gave it my best show but sometimes that's not enough. The team are beyond brilliant, I wish them all the best." The latest series of Top Gear, which wrapped up last night in the UK, has been battered by low audience figures and scathing reviews, both from critics and fans. Replicating the success of the Clarkson era was always going to be difficult, however, when so much of the show's appeal was attributed to the old presenters.

If you've been weighing up an Amazon Prime subscription, now might be a good time to take the plunge. The Jeff Bezos empire has slashed the price of a one-year plan to £59, down from the usual £79. That's a sizeable saving and puts the subscription just under £5 per month in the UK. Amazon has dropped the price in order to draw attention to The Grand Tour, a new motoring show that debuts on Prime Video this autumn with Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond at the helm. You'll need to be quick though - the Prime discount ends at midnight on May 16th.

At last, the new motoring show from Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond has a name: The Grand Tour. The former Top Gear trio signed for Amazon last July with the promise of more automobile adventures. We've known for some time that it would debut on Prime Video this fall, with at least three seasons premiering over as many years. But there's never been a name -- something Clarkson and the gang have frequently poked fun at -- until now. Notably, The Grand Tour can be condensed to TGT or GT, an acronym similar to Top Gear's own TG.
