There's been a lot of speculation about which Xeon chips the upcoming iMac Pro will use, but Intel may have just revealed the answer. During IFA, it unveiled the Xeon W-series lineup aimed at high-end, single-CPU, mainstream graphics workstations. Intel didn't say that the iMac pro would use the chip, but the stars line up: The flagship Xeon W has 18 cores and is due by Q4 2017, and Apple promised that iMac Pros with up to 18 cores would arrive this December.

Yuneec may be DJI's biggest consumer drone rival, but you probably have only heard of its consumer and selfie drones. Now, it's taking a step into the big leagues with a new model, the H520. The big, six rotor UAV with bright orange visibility is meant for commercial jobs, including video production, public safety, and inspection. It's equipped with a retractable landing gear, mission planning software and a variety of cameras, including a thermal imaging model and one with a two-inch sensor.

Samsung hints that another 360-degree camera is in the works

The Gear 360 camera only reached shelves a few months ago, but that might not stop Samsung from readying a quick follow-up. The tech giant has quietly applied for a trademark on "360 Round," hinting at the possibility of another VR camera in the works. There aren't any obvious clues about the hardware's features, but its familiar-sounding RM-R260 model number (the 360 is the RM-R210) suggests that it's very much a sibling to the Gear 360. The "Round" badging also hints it might be a more compact, strictly spherical device versus the Gear 360's eyestalk shape, but it's hard to say for sure.

IFA is one of the world's most prestigious technology shows, and a sober European counterpart to the glitz of Las Vegas' CES. It's where plenty of big names show off the wares they hope you'll buy in the run-up to the holidays, including new phones and TVs. The show also hosts a multitude of kitchen appliances, because we all need to keep an eye out for the latest in blender, washing machine and freezer technology. The show kicks off in Berlin in a few days' time, and before we fly out to Germany, here's what we're expecting to see pop up.

Dell is launching its latest generation of Inspiron PCs pacing Intel's latest 8th-generation "Kaby Lake" chips, with a bit more fanfare than usual. Exhibit "A" is the Inspiron lineup of laptops and 2-in-1s: Dell says the Inspiron 7000 is the first 17-inch 2-in-1 on the market. That might seem excessive, but the larger screen makes some sense -- foldable devices are increasingly used in "tent" mode for multimedia and graphics, rather than just as glorified tablets.

The age of VR is quickly settling in around us. A platform that just a few years ago could barely be even be considered niche is now knocking down the walls of the mainstream with hordes of big-name brands at its back. Playstation, HTC, Oculus are all busily building their own hardware while Facebook, YouTube and Twitch -- even KFC -- frantically race to develop content to meet the rising tide of consumer demand. At IFA on Monday, Dell declared itself a challenger in this arena with its VR headset for Microsoft's Windows Mixed Reality platform, the Dell Visor.

If you want the most portable 13-inch laptop that's also as fast as possible, Dell's XPS 13 laptop may be in your future. The new model is available with Intel's 8th-generation Core i7 or i5 CPUs with quad-core, eight-thread horsepower, a 3,200 x 1,800 (QHD+) display, 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 and two USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) ports. Yet, all of that fits into what Dell calls "the smallest 13.3-inch laptop on the planet," with 5.2 mm top and side bezels and as little as 2.7 pounds of heft.

After nearly two years, Microsoft is months away from releasing its first Windows Mixed Reality headset to the public. The first out the gate will be Acer's $300 VR headset, which runs on the same platform as the HoloLens and therefore already has access to a whole plethora of Windows 10 apps. But a VR headset isn't any fun without games, right? That's why today Microsoft has announced that Windows Mixed Reality headsets will be compatible with a slew of different titles, including some from one of the biggest names in VR: Steam.

Samsung's next Gear Fit will track your swimming (updated)

We liked Samsung's Gear Fit 2, but it had its limits. You couldn't use it to track your swimming, for starters. It's a good thing, then, that well-known leaker Evan Blass claims to have a training deck detailing a sequel that should be unveiled at Samsung's August 23rd event. The Gear Fit 2 Pro would look much like its predecessor, complete with that tall, curved display, but would include some big design upgrades. Most notably, it would add 5 ATM water resistance and that hoped-for swim tracking -- it'll sync up with the Speedo On app. Accordingly, the Pro switches from a snap-on strap to a watch-like buckle to prevent it from falling off in mid-backstroke.

LG will reveal the V30 on August 31st

LG just dropped a big hint as to what's next for its smartphone roster. The company has sent out a "save the date" teaser that hints at a V30 launch in Berlin on August 31st, right before the start of the IFA technology trade show. The image doesn't give too much away, but there are a couple of conspicuous clues. The "V" is the dead giveaway as to what to expect, of course, but the image itself is a 2:1 aspect ratio. In other words, you can expect the G6's extra-tall display concept (including the minimal bezel) to carry over.
