The Mevo Start 3-pack is a tiny, powerful live streaming studio
The Mevo Start 3-pack kit ($1,000) consists of three streaming cameras that connect together wirelessly through the companion app. With the ability to instantly switch and stream between three different camera angles, it has the potential to overhaul how streamers broadcast. These cameras were built for live streaming.
Livestream's Mevo Plus has five times the range of its last camera
Vimeo probably did the right thing by ditching its planned Netflix-style streaming service in favor of live video. The move came on the back of its purchase of Livestream -- the company best-known for its Mevo camera. With the ink on the deal barely dry, Vimeo is adding new hardware to its lineup with the launch of the Mevo Plus.
Livestream's Mevo camera can broadcast to YouTube Live
Last year, Livestream's Mevo became the first camera with integrated Facebook Live streaming. Now the video streaming platform is giving its device a few more major upgrades, including support for Android and YouTube Live. The camera can now broadcast to four platforms: its creator's website (Livestream), Facebook Live, Periscope and YouTube Live. Plus, it can do so in 1080p, something it wasn't capable of, since it used to be locked to 720p. So long as you upgrade its software and get the latest version of its iOS app or its new Android app, you can also use it to record 4K videos.
Livestream's Mevo camera lets you edit video on the fly
Broadcasting live video is one of the biggest tech trends of the last year. It started with Meerkat, but now Facebook and Twitter (via the Periscope app) are unsurprisingly the dominant players in the space. Most of that video streaming is done using smartphones, but Livestream -- one of the first big players in the livestreaming video space -- thinks there's a market for dedicated video cameras. Enter Mevo, the company's tiny, dedicated camera for streaming video to Facebook Live.
Mevo is the first camera with live Facebook video
Facebook is making it easier to stream live video from any device, but what about getting one of those devices? Don't worry, as Livestream is stepping up to the plate. It just revealed that Mevo (formerly Movi) is the first camera with integrated Facebook Live streaming. The move not only simplifies the process of hopping online, but gives you a wide audience right from the get-go -- anyone who follows you on Facebook. Of course, you can still share directly through Livestream (other services are in the pipeline) if you're not tied to one social network.
