Maybe it's just us being silly because the weekend is almost upon us and we're looking forward to getting our game on. However, we have to admit when we saw "nice details" coupled with today's Age of Conan One Shot, we chuckled. Whatever the reason may be, it's still a nice shot showing off some rather skimpy armor from Age of Conan, sent in to us by Samus. He explains a bit further than just the details: The screenshot is from the high lvl (75+) area of the game. [It is] mostly desert and scorpions. Looks like it's got some huge tracts of land, too. If you're back in Hyboria - or any land we don't get to see as often as some others - why not send in your screenshots! We'd love to see more of strange and wonderful foreign lands. Just email them to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, the game it's from, and a quick description. We'll post them here and give you the credit!%Gallery-9798%

Ryük of <Order of Valtiel> on Ravencrest writes in about a bug he and his guildmates experienced post-patch. "We had cleared Archavon 10 and the trash to Emalon when a Wintergrasp battle began, kicking us out of the instance. We decided to try and win Wintergrasp so that we could win and, against all odds on our hugely outnumbered server, Horde was victorious! We re-entered VoA to find Emalon and his adds untargetable and unable to react to our presence. So what did we do? Big Emalon Dance Party!?"Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. Before the gates go up in your favorite World of Warcraft battleground, you can generally find a giant mass of players all smushed together in an attempt to be the first out the gate. After all, if you're going to go play, might as well start strong in terms of racking up kill-count - but still, why bring an orphan along? For the achievement! Of course, this makes it ten times more complicated - especially if you've never been in there before, as Michelyne from World of Warcraft writes in: Gosh! This achievement at Battleground is killing me. Wish me luck in WSG. I have no idea how I gonna return a fallen flag in WSG (QQ). (Never [gone to a] BG before Children's Week.) Ouch. Every day One Shots brings you an image from around the MMOGosphere, but we can't do it without your screenshots! If you've ever thought about sending in an image, now is the time. Just email them to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name and the name of the game it was taken in. Notes, grumpiness, and the rest are welcome. Please make sure your image is at least 1024 pixels wide, and preferrably without UI in it. We'll post it out here and give you the credit!%Gallery-9798%

  • Romulan ships in the latest Star Trek Online screens

Everyone has their favorite ship designs in Star Trek. Some people can't get enough Klingon ships, while others are all about the Federation. Today however, is a good day for Romulan fans, as two new screens featuring the species' ships are available for ogling and general drooling-over.It must be admitted, the sleek sexy curves of these two ships are most... fascinating. It's almost enough to make a person forget the beauty of some of the more advanced Federation vessels. Not that we would, of course. Our dedication to the Federation is... uh, well okay we'd probably fly one of these without a second thought if the opportunity presented itself. What's even more beautiful than the ships, perhaps, is the space they're flying through. It can't be easy to consistently awe inspiring space vistas, but the people working on this game seem to keep churning them out time and time again. Hopefully we'll get to see some of it in motion sometime in the future.%Gallery-28615%

It's close to midnight, and something evil's lurking in the dark. Under the moonlight you see a sight that almost stops your heart ... a team of identical dancing night elves? Undead mage Tirin of <Lex Non Scripta> on Lightning's Blade managed to terrify the whole Undercity before the locals realized that he was just messing around with Mirror Image, Winterfall Firewater and an Orb of Deception. Luckily for the Horde, the Alliance has yet to develop cloning technology. Well, except for female gnomes with pink pigtails.Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? • Blur screens hit the web, are surprisingly sharp

    05.19.2009

After we found out earlier today that Bizarre Creations' Blur would be speeding to store shelves this fall, we thought that'd be all the Blur news the game's publisher, Activision, was ready to drop in a single day. Turns out we were wrong, as a handful of screens for the new racer are clearly available at Gamersyde -- and now right below in our gallery. The cars are plenty nice and the brightness has apparently been turned up to 11, but most importantly, we get an early glimpse of those "Mario Kart meets Forza" special effects. Seems as though electricity is the effect of the day, as nearly every shot we've seen features fractured blue light from end to end. No oil slicks that send cars careening to their doom? No carefully placed explosive barrels intended for multiple flips? For shame, Activision. For shame.Update: Added a gallery! Enjoy:%Gallery-63796%

With Guild Wars' recent 4th Anniversary, it seems like more eyes are turning towards the various campaigns released under the Guild Wars banner. Today's One Shots shows off a darkly intriguing image sent in to us by Bob J. who writes in: Hell's Precipice is the switchback path that leads along the ridge of Abaddon's Mouth, an incredibly fierce volcano. It is along this path that the Titans prepare to wage war against the entire world of Tyria. Will no one stop the unholy army? What about that dashing Elementalist over there? This is the setting for the last mission in the original Guild Wars. And it's awesome. We love to see screens from MMOs both big and small, but we need you to send them in! 05.19.2009

(click to MMO-size) Looks like we'll be seeing more capri pants from All Points Bulletin developer Realtime Worlds in a few short weeks, as the company announced this morning its intentions to attend E3 2009. RTW community manager Chris 'Ulrich' Dye dropped the knowledge on APB fansite APB Evolved, along with the "first in-game screenshot" of APB (seen above), saying, "Yes, we WILL be at E3 this year and this will mark the start of lots more news, activities and information coming out about APB: All Points Bulletin."He also teases a bit of info on the game, noting that the screen provided is meant "to give you another look at the awesome character customizations that will make up a large part of APB," rather than just show you some more folks holdin' gats. Like you, we're stuck waiting for another two weeks to find out more. Thanks, Realtime Worlds!

Does the Molten Core need an exterminator? You'd think all those core hounds would keep the pests away, but no. Solanine of <Eternal Descent> on Icecrown captured the moment as her raid's boomkin cast Insect Swarm on Ragnaros. Silly Raggy! Don't you know that bugs are attracted to fire? And trying to swat them with Sulfuron is just inefficient. Just get Thorim in to do some Chain Lightning.Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? • One Shots: What is this strange portent?

Strange things are afoot in the lands of Middle-earth, but then again, there's generally always something strange afoot there. If there wasn't, Lord of the Rings Online would feature such scintillating gameplay aspects as "hobbit budget balancing" and other chore-type activities. (We get enough of those in the real world, thanks.) Thankfully, along with strange doings, there's also interesting and strange visuals to look at like today's One Shots sent in to us by Hurauth from the fellowship Sons of Northern Darkness on the Vilya server. Hurauth writes in to explain his thoughts on this: In the late evening a rather peculiar rainbow appears out of the ruined town of GwinGris. What could this mean? We're not sure, but we can guarantee it likely doesn't have anything to do with boring chores, thankfully. Have you seen an interesting bit of landscape on your in-game travels? If so, grab a screenshot of it and send it in to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, the game, and a quick description. We'll post it up here for everyone to enjoy and give you the credit. %Gallery-9798%

Gnomes may live to be five hundred years old, but that doesn't mean that they can't have midlife crises. Twilighthand of <Order of the Dawn> on Eitrigg recently realized that he wasn't interested in spending the rest of his life gathering herbs, sewing robes and cursing people to death. Plus, he owed the Steamwheedle Cartel enough money to substantially shorten his lifespan. He decided to get away from it all and retire to a quiet life in the country, living undercover with a Westfall farming family. Little does the human couple in this screenshot know that their newly adopted son is actually a full-grown gnome death machine. That'll have to wait until they catch him sneaking his succubus into the house at two in the morning.Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? When it comes to images like this, you might think someone's gotten themselves into far too much trouble. Originally, that's what we'd thought too, until we read the helpful note sent in with today's EVE Online One Shots by Aevum Decessus. It read: In this image, you can see Dominx Battleship being repaired by armor repair drones, while it's own drones are off in the distance picking off NPC targets, creating a very interesting effect with the armor-repair beams circling with the drones. Still is pretty, even if it's just low-key NPC ratting. One Shots is in need of your screenshots - from New Eden and beyond! Send them to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com? Add your name, the game it's from (guild [Corp], server and description welcome too) and you're set! It couldn't be any easier unless we snapped them for you. %Gallery-9798%

It's tough all over these days. Even Azeroth is suffering from an economic downturn. Curse those gold farmers for selling epic mounts at sub-prime rates! Anyway, Healornodeal of <Kill or be killed> on Vashj-EU has been forced to carpool with a Forsaken pal to save on horse refueling costs. Even though the undead and the blood elves are all buddy-buddy, neither of them looks too pleased with the arrangement. Maybe they need to upgrade to a mammoth. Last night, the Free Realms team from SOE gathered together a bunch of players and decided to throw a dance party as part of the 1 million players celebration. As we just happened to be passing through at the time (what can we say - the mining game is nearby) we stopped to do a bit of celebratory dancing and I took the chance to grab this screenshot for today's One Shots. If you look really hard, you can spot a few of the SOE community reps in the mix as well as some strange things you normally wouldn't see in game. Calling all MMO players! We need your screenshots for One Shots. If you've seen anything fun (special events are awesome) imposing, interesting, or silly, we want to hear from you. All MMOs from large-budget to tiny indie games; from East to West are welcome. Send them to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name/server/game and a quick description of what we're seeing. We'll post them up and give you credit!%Gallery-9798%

Why on earth would you design a prison with skylights? No one but the Kirin Tor know the answer. At least Ripps of Khaz Modan was thankful for the light inside the Violet Hold. He'd been feeling a bit peaky, what with all the hours spent in dungeons and icy fields, nowhere conducive to putting down roots, and his leaves were beginning to wilt. A blast of concentrated sunlight would feel better than a million elixirs. Now if only the rest of the raid would stop dying long enough for him to make his way into the sunbeam ...Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? It's the blockbuster action-adventure screenshot of the summer! This is the one everybody's been waiting for! It's full of intrigue, sand [snow?], and Age of Conan graphics... it's snakes on a plain! Okay, okay, so we don't know much about this screenshot other than it came from Age of Conan, and it's not really a plain, but that's why we have a note from Brenden M. who sent today's One Shots in to us. He explains a bit about it: Just came out of the black castle in Khopshef Province and saw this view. Thought you might like it. Any screenshot where we get to make a pop-culture reference is cool with us. It's the weekend! Time for gaming! So when you're out adventuring, why not grab some screenshots to send in to us. Since you all liked our last massive UI glitch shot so much, I thought I'd throw up another one we recently received. Solitary of <Cerberus> on Ravenholdt-EU sent in this screenshot from a very different Tirisfal Glades. "I particularly like how my character's face has been used as the texture for her shoulder," she writes. There's something to be said for tackling a raid encounter, playing hard, and defeating the boss in your favorite MMO. (Assuming, of course, if has endgame raiding.) There's also something extra-special about getting the boss down the first time. However, the mark of truly enjoying a game is whether or not you can laugh off all the wipes getting to that point or not. Today's World of Warcraft One Shots comes from Nakirush, who appears to have the right, rather silly, attitude about death. Nakirush writes in to explain this shot: Our brave tank charges Sapphiron as we come to the end of Naxxramas. Blades slice the air and magic pours out wildly. The battle was nearly won, we were nearly victorious. Then we died. We love to see screens from MMOs both big and small, but we need you to send them in! With the days heating up, spending nights in beautiful, frozen areas of Lord of the Rings Online is definitely an enjoyable way to cool off. Today's One Shots comes in to us from Tawyn of the guild Executioners of the Wicked on the Windfola server. Tawyn captured this incredibly lovely image for us and writes in to explain it: [this] is the Ice Bay of Forochel. Arvedui's ruined ship sits in the Ice Bay against a backlight of brilliant northern lights. Easily the most beautiful zone in the game. We'd be hard-pressed to pick a favorite area in Lord of the Rings Online, honestly - they're all so very lovely!Have you found a location that really speaks to you? If so, why not email us a screenshot of it and tell us a bit about why it's important to you? Even if you'd rather not extol its virtues, we'd still love your images. As Kafalli of <Guitarred and Feathered> on Frostwolf looked on in horror, a thick hedge of brambles covered in strange druidic symbols grew over the city. The evil warlock's corruption of his graphics card had succeeded, and his beloved was trapped inside the castle, deep inside an enchanted lag storm. Kafalli knew he would have to use all of his abilities on the long, perilous journey to rescue her. Or, he considered, he could just get a new video card. And a new beloved. That would probably be a lot more efficient.Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder?
