  • SteelSeries and Blizzard partners offer BlizzCon Sweepstakes

A few of Blizzard's partners (including Jinx, Upper Deck, and SteelSeries) have all teamed up to offer you what for many, Blizzard couldn't: two tickets to BlizzCon in October. Yes, in the first of what we're sure will be many contests and sweepstakes for BlizzCon tickets, these guys have set up a giveaway to hook up one lucky winner with passes for two to the event that's a Blizzard fan's dream. All you've got to do to enter is put your info in over on their site -- the Grand Prize winner will pick up an all expenses paid trip to BlizzCon, and ten other winners will get some WoW-related gear from the contest's sponsors (SteelSeries makes the Zboard, and apparently they're releasing one for Wrath, so you might get one of those as well). There is a checklist that you can leave unchecked to supposedly keep the sponsors from contacting you, so even if you don't want your info opt-ed in, it looks like you're in the clear. If you do enter, good luck! (And if you win, we'll see you at BlizzCon!) There are bound to be a few more of these contests showing up before the big event, so even if you don't walk away with a trip from this one, stay tuned.

  • Win an Anarchy Online-themed desktop from Funcom and GameRigs

It seems to be the year of the Science Fiction MMO-themed desktop PC. A couple months back, CCP and Commodore joined forces to sell us EVE Online enthusiast desktops. This time, GameRigs and Funcom put together the above-pictured Anarchy Online computer, and are giving it away in a sweepstakes. It looks sexy and all, but we were disappointed to see that the provided system specs are rather vague. It has an "Intel Core 2 processor" and an "NVIDIA GeForce graphics card." Well, that could be anything, but hey, it's free, ain't it? And do you really need a GeForce GTX 280 to run 2001's Anarchy Online? Not so much!It looks like you don't have to do anything but fill out a form to enter the sweepstakes. You don't even have to be an Anarchy Online subscriber. You do have to be a legal resident of the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec; now that's not fair!), though.

Many of you will no doubt recall the gorgeous and very, very yellow limited edition Pikachu DS that remains painfully unattainable to us. With no official release planned for the hardware, we began to give up hope on ever owning one, but it looks like Nintendo could be offering another two Pikachu Lites to winners of a new contest being held to promote Pokémon Mystery Dungeon twosome Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Time. You can enter once a day between now and May 21st, when a couple of lucky winners will clinch themselves a treasure chest containing the most beautiful DS Lite known to man, a Wii, a HDTV, and more Pokémon goodies than they can shake a stick at. Head here to learn more.[Via press release]

  • Roto-Rooter wants to put a Wii in the loo

According to Roto-Rooter, the ultimate restroom for women is a place where you can simultaneously dry your hair, listen to music, bathe your feet, make (and then enjoy) a latte, and surf the Internet whilst seated upon the throne. They admit it's "excessive," and we find it pretty disgusting -- especially the latte bit. We do not want food of any kind prepared in the bathroom. But, really, the open secret of the "Pimped out Powder Room" sweepstakes is that once you've won, you can put bathroom-inappropriate prizes elsewhere. Leave the new toilet and bidet in, move the Wii and refrigerator out. That is, unless you really want to play Wii on your new combination TV/mirror/heated towel rack. [Via Game|Life]

If you're looking forward to Stargate Worlds, chances are that you're a fan of the franchise, and that means you watch Stargate Atlantis. So while you're probably going to be tuning in to January 4th's mid-season premiere of Atlantis anyway, we thought we'd give you this heads up: the first Stargate Worlds trailer will premiere during Atlantis this week. That's not all. Starting January 11th (they just love making us keep track of all these dates), the Sci-Fi Channel will be airing "gate codes" during Atlantis episodes, and those gate codes will let you enter a sweepstakes to have your "image or likeness incorporated into" Stargate Worlds. So there's your heads up.[Via GateWorld]

Sure, the chances of ever winning anything in a giveaway are slimmer than Kate Moss, but it never hurts to try. With that said, Circuit City (of the dot com variety) will be giving away one Wii per day from 12/2 (today) to 12/22. All you need to do to enter is put in your email, so at least the effort isn't too taxing for such a futile endeavor. Of course, you have to be a U.S. citizen (or in a U.S. territory or Puerto Rico) to take part in the sweepstakes (damn the law). Anyway, good luck to all who enter, we're sure you're going to need it.

Yes, we held this closely guarded secret deep, deep inside. The underground bunker was kept airtight; no leaks escaped. We kept it secret; we kept it safe... oops, wrong IP! Okay, okay, so we're terrible at keeping secrets. We hope all is forgiven for a chance to win what must be one of the few remaining BlizzCon murloc suits left... or not! But ours is better because it's free. You wanna win this thing? We'll keep the entries open for two full days. Leave a comment in this thread by 3pm EST Monday, November 5 telling us the first thing you'll do in-game once you activate your murloc suit. And here's the best part: this contest is open to everyone regardless of age or where you live in the world. That's right -- anyone can enter. So get to it!

Don't forget -- the clock is ticking and there's less than two days remaining to throw your comment-hat in the ring for a chance at Etrian Odyssey. Since it's all about the mathematics of the thing, yapping an extra time can only increase your chances (but you have to get everyone else to stay away, so get creative). Also, many of the comments are packed with comedy, so they make for interesting morning reading.Remember -- comment there, not here, for your chance to win. Not that we don't love it when you talk to us. And if you're not the lucky winner, don't despair ... we may have a few more things around here to give away in the coming weeks.

Wouldn't it be awesome if your mailbox randomly generated spankin' new DS games? While we may not have mastered nanotech, we can offer you the next best thing, which is a chance for a free copy of Etrian Odyssey. All you have to do is leave a comment below. Convince us that you burn with the desire for Etrian Odyssey, and we just may draw your name. It helps if mathematics happen to be on your side. Entries will be accepted through June 21 -- as soon as the clock ticks over to midnight on the 22nd, your chance to enter will disappear, so get commenting! We'll notify the winner on Friday, June 22.The rules are simple, but all fine print aside, all you have to do is leave a comment on this very entry. Make sure you enter a valid e-mail address in the applicable field, because if you don't, it won't matter if we draw your name -- if we can't get in touch with you, we'll have to give your game to someone else. The official rules for the DS Fanswag giveaway

Ever heard of looking a gift horse in the mouth? It's supposed to be a bad idea. It's just not as unwise as looking a gift Burger King in his deadened, black, all-seeing eyes and learning the exact date of your death. One guy named David did just that ... and lived to tell the tale.David was lucky enough to win a Burger King sweepstakes -- an effort to promote their line of top-notch games -- picking up a premium Xbox 360, tons of accessories, oh, and the physical manifestation of fear: a Burger King mask. Sure, he enjoyed the prizes and all, but it had to be packed in with the face of evil itself, which more than negates the generosity. It's a little like getting hot, free muffins from a truck that just ran over your uncle. "Yes, the muffins were delicious, but ..."Well, at least David didn't receive a copy of Big Bumpin'. So there's still some kindness in the world. [Via Xbox 360 Fanboy]

Obviously, the sweepstakes have some rules you're going to need to follow, so it's in your best interest to give them a read.
