It would appear as if I didn't sabotage Stormscape Creations' PR campaign after all. He was true to his word and produced a sequel that is a much better improvement over Chapter One. It's so good, in fact, that it was recommended immediately upon upload on Warcraftmovies.com.This time around, Stormscape finishes up the loose ends from Chapter One, and creates new plotlines with which to move forward in the saga of the Thaenor brothers. He also employs voice actors, which was a major complaint from the first movie. However, since YouTube nerfed Director's accounts, he had to upload his 20+ minutes opus, The Thaenor Chronicles: Chapter Two, in three separate parts. If you liked the first part shown here, we highly suggest that you check out the high quality Filefront download.[Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

The AETG, or Azerothians for the Ethical Treatment of Gnomes, won't be happy about this video. It looks like Pinkhair isn't the only 3D animator around, as Macky shows us what he does in his spare time -- gnome punt. This clip is ridiculously short, but we like the rendering that we see so far. It claims to be part of a Gnome Chronicles, so we look forward to seeing something longer in the series![Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

The reception to Darrowshire has been so great that I wanted to highlight Big Blue Dress, the Warcraftmovies recommended film with over three million views on YouTube. Cranius didn't need a fancy Model or Map Viewer program. He was able to capture footage in-game that conveyed what he needed to for the scenes over two years ago, yet the movie is still popular to this day.If you liked this video, you can download it on Filefront or get the song from the Collective Order website. An interesting tidbit to note is that Olibith responded to this video with his first ever machinima, Olibith the Urban Spaceman![Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

There's not much to say about this video other than it's beautiful. Robgee did an excellent job with his footage and color filters. While Shipwreked is technically a music video, we would say that it's a work of art.Robgee filmed this machinima in multiple locations, including Stranglethorn Vale, Feralas, Desolace, and Nagrand. However, he manages to make them look like they're real areas, although you'll only see but a tiny glimpse of a person. For a first effort, we think he did a fine job, and look forward to his next movie![Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

Today is one of those days where I feel fail coming on. Warcraftmovies generally has accurate categorizing of the machinima that comes through there. However, I found a crit video in the storyline section yesterday, which makes it fair game. I'm sure that most of the readers will end up commenting on playing skill. He tried to score the highest unexploited crit that he could. Unfortunately, there are issues with the video itself. There is too much text on the screen and it takes up most of the video. The black on black flashes between text is kind of pointless as well. People seem to like these types of videos, but I think that rating them based on gameplay versus video skill skews the entire system. Can there be a happy mix of gameplay and machinima? What's the best example that you've seen?[Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

(We're hijacking this little spot here to let you know that Never Stay Tuned 3 is out. Olibith informed us the other day that it's a little too naughty for this blog.)Shepiwot is so close to Episode 30 of his How to Paladin series! Episode 29, or XXIX, finds him in Quel'danas and killing Kael'thas. At what point do you think that he'll get a lifetime achievement award? With 71 machinimas under his belt, of which none of them have been sabotaged by me, and one WCM recommendation, we definitely think that he qualifies![Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

When you've accomplished everything on your checklist, what's left to do in WoW? For Ganouille and Esmereth, the answer was to open a travel agency. Their first customer, Hogger, was only level 11! It took them many attempts to actually make it to their destination because anyone that crossed their path killed him for them thinking that they needed help.Hogger is quite the popular gnoll. When we showed you the Assassine trailer last month, your consensus was that it attempted to knock off the Fury trailer. Now, DTB Productions has released the full version of Assassine, which is about a female rogue that avenges the death of her husband. Using no voice acting, he tells the story through music and actions.I enjoyed the way that DTB used the sound effects and music intensity to signify that something was going to happen. For a first effort, this is really good! In the constructive feedback department, some commenters on Warcraftmovies felt that the perspective and shadows were off, while others felt that the action scenes were too slow. If those are his worst problems, when he improves upon it in the next film, he'll be golden![Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

When I woke up today, I promised myself that I wouldn't practice sabotage, espionage, or anything ... "age." Therefore, I've decided to post something amazing in contrast to yesterday. Cranius, creator of the popular Big Blue Dress, has blessed us with a little musical ditty, called Darrowshire. One of the greatest things about this machinima is that he based it around a quest in the Eastern Plaguelands. It's not every day that you can actually relive the path of a machinima. If you'd like to know what Cranius is up to next, check out his blog. If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com. I dug out this gem from almost a year ago because Stormscape Creations is preparing to release the second chapter of The Thaenor Chronicles any day now! The story centers around Zemeth and Zalek Thaenor, the last living members of their family. While the visuals are well done, the voice acting leaves something to be desired. I also have to wonder why he only released the high-quality version on archive.org. If you'd like to follow along on his progress with the movie, check out Stormscape's blog.[Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on the feature that was previously and still known as Moviewatch ...

Sometimes you have a little extra time, some nice footage, and the desire to make a movie. With no plot to speak of, Legs did just that. Viewers may remember his her previous movie, Black Angel. His Her latest movie, Destination Unknown, involves a pimped out lady singing her song. Along the way, there are dance scenes, strange occurrences, and ... eyes? It's difficult to explain, so you'll just have to watch it yourself! I enjoyed the video, but those that aren't fans of Model Viewer footage may not like it.[Via Warcraftmovies.com]Previously on Moviewatch ...

If PETA were in WoW, they wouldn't be pleased with Nav. He just finished his first ever machinima, a teaser for his upcoming series, The Last Hunt. The video follows a boy who aspires to become a hunter and be one with nature. The reception on Warcraftmovies was fairly good, but I'd have to agree with the commenters about the voice acting. Not only did the dialogue feel forced, but some sentences actually made no sense! However, we have to give Nav major kudos for putting himself out there. This blogger can't wait to see the series![Via Warcraftmovies.com]Previously on Moviewatch ...

It's been a while since PvE machinimator, Kerp, has documented his journey on Warcraftmovies. However, it looks like Patch 2.4 has brought him out of hiding. He captured footage of his experience with the mighty Kalecgos. The verdict on Kelecgos? Kerp claims that the boss was harder than expected, as he didn't have hours of practice beforehand. You won't have to be unprepared, as he has it in 1280x1024 goodness. It's not exactly artistic, and it's certainly no How to Paladin, but it's good to see some of the new bosses![Via Warcraftmovies.com]Previously on Moviewatch ...

(This video contains some heavy language, but only to keep in stride with the show that it is parodying, Trailer Park Boys. You've been warned.)Trailer Park Boys fame has reached critical mass. Not only is the homegrown, low-budget mockumentary-style taking over the globe in real life, now wowstudios (Joe Ashe) has parodied it in World of Warcraft. While I thought that he captured the feel of the series in his shots, I do have some complaints. I'm not sure why he showed voices transmitting in WoW, but it appears sloppy. In addition, I don't know if he was attempting focal depth, but the backgrounds just end up looking blurry. Criticism aside, I thought World of Trailer Park Boys was a funny and cute parody.[Via Warcraftmovies.com]Previously on Moviewatch ...

I don't normally check out videos with no thumbnail preview or mid to high quality streams. However, World of Warcrack seemed to be garnering high ratings and comments. What I discovered was a really humorous take on WoW addiction. This video is a must see in my book!Filmed at a University of Texas campus, the portrayal of college stereotypes are pretty spot on. Bryan Canatella also did a good job of illustrating that the pot shouldn't be calling the kettle black, as was the case with the heroin addict that felt his friend was addicted to Warcraft. Definitely check out the hilarious fight scene. You won't regret it.[Via Warcraftmovies.com]Previously on Moviewatch ...

Fishface is becoming quite the machinima addict! Less than two weeks ago, I featured his very first creation, StreamLine. Through trial and error, he is experimenting with different genres. Let's hope he finds a niche! The Showdown, his latest video, is an attempt at an action-packed storyline film. Unfortunately there's not much of a story going on. However, it is a very cinematic take on a battle scene. I'd say that the area that needed the most improvement would be the length of the video, but don't let that discourage you, Fishface![Via Warcraftmovies.com]Previously on Moviewatch ...

Moo Money is off to Austin to cover the South by Southwest Music and Media Conference. Until she is done schmoozing the latest in Machinima talent, I'll be covering WoW Moviewatch for the next day or two. One of the first things I've found is this music video using "Cry Little Sister" from "The Lost Boys" soundtrack.Black Angel tells the story of a dark angel summoned to wreak havoc, but is imprisoned. Now he seeks the help of his sister, an angel of light. Creative use of the WoW Model Viewer, an evocative song and a strong narrative make for a compelling vid.[via WarcraftMovies]Previously on WoW Moviewatch...

Oskar Renlund is taking an interesting approach to machinima. The Blood Knight is his first movie, and he's leaving it up to his audience as to whether he should make any more. Like Macheath, he created the film in order to learn the editing programs, but for a first effort, it's not bad at all!Oskar managed to pack the video with all sorts of exciting elements, like an overbearing father, a lost love, and an epic battle. So far, the audience is asking for it to be made into a longer film! Do you think that he should develop the storyline further?[Via Warcraftmovies.com]Previously on Moviewatch ...

Before Telemora went on to make his Warcraftmovies recommended The Luckiest, he created a little music video, We Will Rock You. He finished the film way back in March 2006, but it just reached over one million views on YouTube yesterday! The video is part music video, part battle, but all rock and roll.By today's standards, this might not be considered a spectacular machinima, but back then, it was chock full of special effects, color correction, and transitions, in a time when not so many were doing that. Telemora went on to be one of the higher ranked WCM contributors, however hasn't released anything since last year, which is a shame.
