Security is especially important for portable SSDs, which might carry tons of sensitive information yet end up tossed in a bag. Samsung recognizes this. To make its latest portable SSD more secure, it has added a fingerprint sensor to the new T7 Touch, which was named a CES 2020 Innovation Awards honoree.
Bowers & Wilkins' first Bluetooth speaker oozes Brit style
Bowers & Wilkins wants you to keep up appearances with the T7, its first portable Bluetooth speaker. The bespoke UK audio company has certainly nailed the design, with an elegant honeycomb "micro matrix" cabinet designed to reduce vibration and distortion. It's also got twin bass radiators, high-quality Bluetooth aptX and audiophile electronics and drive units. Bowers & Wilkins has promised intuitive light cues and minimal buttons, plus a whopping 18-hour battery life. The only thing that might give you pause is the $350 price tag, a premium over the beloved, but still-not-exactly-cheap $300 Big Jambox, for example. Still, considering its objet d'art looks, if the sound quality measures up to all of Bowers & Wilkins fancy adjectives, it might be worth the extra 50 bucks.
Virgin Pure water purifiers launch offensive against tap and bottled water in the UK
English entrepreneur and chairman of The Virgin Group Sir Richard Branson thinks that your tap water is dirty. So much so, in fact, that he's partnered up with Strauss Water to get one of his new purifiers into your home and onto your countertop. The colorful Virgin Pure T6 (£299, $466) can dispense 1.3 liters of chilled H2O per minute, or 1.4 liters of hot water that's stored internally. The T7 (£379, or $591) delivers a bit more swagger to your crib with its minimalist, tapered design that offers 50 percent faster cold water flow. It even gets a small power bump to heat your hot water more quickly than its less-expensive sibling. It all sounds well and good, but we'll really be impressed when Virgin crams one of these into its seatbacks in first class.
Nokia brings Symbian^3 to China Mobile, officially announces T7-00 and 702T
Though its visits have been few and far between, Nokia has had a presence on China Mobile for many years. The carrier's never been blessed, however, with any TD-SCDMA devices powered by Symbian^3 -- until now. Two new flagship models, known as the T7-00 and 702T, were announced by both companies and slated for Q3 release. If both phones seem oddly familiar, there's a very good reason why: the T7-00, as we originally speculated, is a variant of the Nokia N8 with a lower-quality 8 megapixel EDoF sensor; the 702T is the TD-SCDMA version of the E6, though the keyboard has been altered slightly to include larger Function and Ctrl buttons, allowing for easier switching between Chinese and English input. Both phones will be pre-loaded with the Anna update, and could be a big factor in helping Nokia hit its goal of selling 150 million Symbian devices before the OS goes the way of the Dodo. Nokia T7-00 surfaces again, looks like N8 redux
This isn't our first encounter with the Nokia T7-00, but this time around we're getting a whole bunch more info thanks to some detailed pics leaked by PCPop. In a nutshell, the T7-00 appears to be a downgraded version of Nokia's N8 imaging flagship for the Chinese market. The phone is identical to the N8 in appearance, except for the missing camera pod in the back. Gone is the phenomenal 12 megapixel autofocus Zeiss shooter with xenon flash -- instead, you'll find an 8 megapixel camera (likely EDoF, like its E7 and C7 cousins) with dual-LED flash mounted flush with the body. In addition, the micro-USB connector finds a new home behind the plastic door that normally conceals the mini-HDMI port on the N8. Under the hood, the existing pentaband 3G radio gives way to China's proprietary TD-SCDMA standard, and the ARM 11 processor gets a 20MHz speed bump to 700MHz. Considering the vast numbers of mobile subscribers in China, the T7-00 is sure to help Nokia reach its goal of selling 150 million Symbian devices in the next few years. Nokia T7-00 leaks, joins the 150 million-strong new Symbian order
We know that despite its recent alliance with Microsoft, Nokia is still planning to sell 150 million Symbian devices in the years to come, and it looks like this new Symbian order is getting stronger by the day. Hot on the heels of the E6-00 640x480 communicator and X7-00 media-centric phone, we are now seeing evidence -- in the form of a leaked user agent profile -- of a T7-00 360x640 device. In addition to the screen resolution indicating a portrait model, it will feature Symbian^3, two softkeys, and browser version 7.3. We are also hearing rumors that the T7-00 "will blow your mind" -- well, according to one GSM Arena commenter, anyway. All we know for sure is that the Nokia Astound for T-Mobile could certainly use some reinforcements on the US front, so bring it on, Nokia. [Thanks, Joe]
SmartQ T7 and T7-3G Android 2.1 tablets announced and priced in China
Don't worry, it's not déjà vu -- these SmartQ T7 tablets may appear just like their Ubuntu-riding R7 sibling, but they offer Android 2.1, an integrated 3G option, a speedier 720MHz CPU, and a colossal 4,700mAh battery -- 1,400mAh more than before! If that's woken you from the slumber brought on by yet another boilerplate tablet, SmartQ's also boasting support for a similarly impressive range of video codecs, meaning you can grab any RMVB, AVI, MKV and WMV files (even at 1080p) from your various, ahem, sources, and just play them back on the 7-inch LCD (probably at 800 x 600 like the R7) as they are. If you're cool with just WiFi connectivity, then go for the ¥1,480 ($219) T7; if 3G is a must, be prepared to dole out ¥1,880 ($278) and ¥1,980 ($292) for the EVDO and WCDMA flavors of the T7-3G, respectively. And if you're hanging out with China Mobile, price for the TD-SCDMA version's to be confirmed later.
RAmos' Android-based W7 MID gets real -- real familiar
We had a pretty clear indication that this one was coming, but it looks RAmos has finally gotten official with its once mysterious Android-based MID, now known from here on out as the W7. As rumored, this one is a Rockchip-powered device, and packs a 4.8-inch, 800 x 480 touchscreen, 720p video support (via HDMI output, presumably), built-in WiFi, and no 3G, although that apparently could still be in the cards for the future. It also just so happens to bear more than a passing resemblance to eviGroup's recently-debuted Wallet Android MID, and another, non-existent MID / tablet you might have heard of. What's more, RAmos also seems to have taken the opportunity to debut a few other, non-Android-based MIDs and PMPs, including the T11TE (which apparently boasts 1080p output over HDMI), the T9HD, and the T7 -- although details on those are few and far between at the moment.[Via Electric Echoes, thanks Sere83]
WoW Patch 3.1 PTR Druid glyphs and undocumented changes
Personally the change I'm still plotzing over most in relation to 3.1 is the sheer locational chutzpah of the Argent Tournament. I'm not sure I understand why the northern portion of Icecrown is considered an appropriate spot. It's like seeing some Milwaukee strip-mall developer parachute into the middle of Mordor and exclaim over the retail and tourist opportunities within a 100-yard radius of Sauron's eye. What does the Scourge think about this tournament? Did they get a cut of the concession stand's profits as a means of buying their cooperation? Who else was bribed in order to make this happen? These are all questions to which I think we deserve answers.Anyway, I seem to be one of the unlucky souls doomed to disconnect every 10 minutes from the PTR (although I'm not anywhere near Dalaran), but I'm sure it'll get fixed. One minor suggestion for all those Druids porting to Moonglade in order to pick up dual-specs immediately; have 1,000g in hand before you do so. As we all know, getting into Moonglade is rather easy. Getting out of Moonglade tends to be rather more time-consuming unless you're willing to burn your hearth in a world newly free of ghetto-hearthing.Some of the undocumented changes we've actually already talked about, so if you don't see something here but missed our first article, you should find them here.

From a mathematical and healing efficiency stand point, Greater Heal has the edge. Under lab conditions. Except raid environments aren't lab conditions. Congratulations to all of you who have the perseverance and dedication to stick it out and focus on the goal! You do us Rogues proud. It takes a special kind of player to pull those all-nighters on the road to Icecrown. Unfortunately, I'm not one of those players.I've been leveling casually through Northrend, exhausting every single quest in a given zone before moving on to the next. In addition, I've been focusing on leveling my tradeskills to 450 and also helping my friends and family as they quest as well, with a little bit of World PvP mixed in when the opportunity presents itself.However, that hasn't stopped me from looking ahead at all of the "badge reward" gear available for us in Dalaran. I guess we should start calling it "emblem gear" or something, but it just doesn't roll of the tongue. Whatever you call it, I've compiled a list of the 5/10 man loot that is of interest to us subtle shadows. Read on for the details.
iriver T7 Volcano DAP now shipping
We first spotted iriver's Volcano back at CES, and it looks like the stick-shaped DAP is finally shipping in Europe under the T7 model number. Specs are the same as we had in January: 2 or 4GB, OLED display, MP3 / WMA / ASF/ Ogg, FM, and voice recording in a variety of colors. €35 ($54) for the 2GB, €50 ($77) for the 4GB. Tranquil ships T7 and T2e Atom media PCs
Ignoring all those silly Atom shortages, Tranquil PC has their T7 and T2e Atom media PCs ready for delivery. As expected, the T7 is based on a fanless design for your uber-quiet home theater and measures only 8.8 x 9.1 x 2.2-inches with space for a 2.5-inch SATA drive. Meanwhile, the T2e can be fitted with a slot-loading DVD drive and comes in a more media rack-friendly form factor. 2.4 on PTRs this year
World of Raids is reporting on a recent interview the German site WoWszene got with J. Allen Brack, lead producer for Wrath of the Lich King. While there isn't much in the way of new Wrath-related info in it, there is one bit that makes me happy: they plan on getting patch 2.4 onto PTRs before the year is out, which gives them less than a month and a half. So far, we don't know a lot of what's coming in 2.4. Here's what we do know: New area: Sunwell Isle, situated north of Eversong Woods, and featuring: A 25-man raid, probably with Kil'jaeden as the final boss, with better loot than the T6 raids Blizzard have said that a legendary bow will drop here A 5-man instance, with normal and heroic modes New daily quests Improved combat log We should probably see that trainable Ice Block by 2.4, although it may come sooner
Panasonic gets official with the W7, T7, and Y7 Toughbooks
The all-knowing database gods of the FCC had already tipped us off to Panasonic's newest US-bound Toughbooks, but they've just gotten the official press treatment, complete with beauty shots and -- most importantly -- spec sheets. All models check out with WiFi, Bluetooth, 1GB of RAM, 80Gb of storage, and an optional HSDPA or EV-DO WWAN module, but diverge from there: the ultraportable W7 (pictured) weighs in at just three pounds, but features a 12.1-inch screen, 1GHz U7500 Core 2 Duo processor, dual-layer burner, and a seven-hour battery life, while the slightly heavier 3.3-pound T7 "tablet alternative" drops the burner for a 12.1-inch touchscreen, 1GHz U7500 Core 2 Duo and a nine-hour battery life. Topping out the new line, the 14.1-inch Y7 clocks in at 3.7 pounds with burner and scores a 1.6GHz L7600 Core 2 Duo. Panny says the $2500 Y7 is available now, while the $2100 W7 and T7 should ship in December. Panasonic launches four new Toughbooks
Panasonic is getting funky-fresh on everyone today with word of a new lineup of Toughbooks making their way out to store shelves. The company is launching four different models of the hard-as-nails laptops (W7, T7, R7, Y7), all of which are based on Intel's Santa Rosa chipset. The new over-performers are said to be able to withstand a 76-centimeter drop (about desk height) while switched on and continue working, versus the previous model's 30-centimeter rating (which applied only when turned off). The Toughbooks also have an "irrigation system" for the keyboard which can route water away from important bits to a "drain" at the base of the computer.
