Someone already bought Motorola's unannounced Z4
Motorola hasn't formally announced its upcoming Z4, but someone already got their hands on it and has shared specs as well as first impressions. YouTuber and Redditor JETFIRE007 ordered the handset when Amazon listed it for sale early, and the retailer, incredibly, delivered it a couple of days later. Yikes.
BMW unveils the tech-filled, aggressive-looking Z4 Roadster
BMW unveiled the new BMW Z4 Roadster at Pebble Beach, California this morning with a more aggressive design that takes cues from the 8 Series. Concepts of both cars were shown off last year at Pebble Beach which leads us to believe that BMW really likes to show off roadsters on golf courses.
HP unveils its insanely upgradeable Z-class workstations
No matter how great your latest PC build is, HP's new Z Workstation lineup can probably top it. The company's latest Z8, Z6 and Z4 desktop workstations are its most powerful and ridiculously upgradeable ever, it says. The top-end Z8 features 24 RAM slots and up to 3TB of RAM, dual Xeon CPUs (with up to 56 cores), dual M.2 SSDs and dual NVIDIA Quadro Pro graphics cards. It's aimed squarely at VFX artists, letting them run 3D simulations, edit 8K video and do Nuke compositing, probably all at the same time.
Sony and Verizon just scrapped the Xperia Z4v's US launch
Sony makes a mean smartphone, but it could never quite crack the macadamia nut that is the US mobile market. For while there it seemed like it had another fighting chance in the Verizon-only Z4v, too. Not anymore. After much hemming and hawing about its release date, a Sony spokesperson confirmed in an email that Sony and Verizon aren't bringing the Z4v to America after all. Way to keep us hanging, guys.
Twitch game streaming comes to Sony's smartphones
Sony is launching a new app that'll let you broadcast streams of your Android gaming to the internet, straight from your smartphone. Screen Recorder has been built to connect to both Twitch and YouTube's Twitch-like live service, letting everyone across the world watch as you play mobile Minecraft. The app works with the company's Xperia Z3+, Z4 and Z4v, as well as the Xperia Z4 tablet that we reviewed last week. It's certainly a big coup for Sony as it continues to revive its formerly-flagging mobile division, since Twitch's spectator-only mobile app has nearly 35 million installs. Tempting even a small proportion of mobile gamers to buy a Sony smartphone would do some impressive things to the bottom line.
World of Speed's BMW Z4 roadster profiled in new vid
Ready for your weekly dose of car porn? Thank Slightly Mad Studios, which released a new World of Speed trailer focused on the BMW Z4 sDRIVE30i. The tiny roadster puts out 255 horsepower which allows a 250 KM/H top speed and a 0-to-100 KM/H time of six seconds. See for yourself after the cut!
