For the next five or so days, Warner Bros. is participating in a new Humble Bundle that includes a special package for Lord of the Rings Online. Humble Bundle allows players to name their own price for a collection of games, and as long as customers pay more than the average amount (currently $4.62), then the Steely Dawn pack will be tossed in for LotRO players. The Steely Dawn pack includes a unique cosmetic armor set, the Evendim quest pack, five XP boosts, and 500 Turbine Points. To use the pack, you have to access LotRO through Steam.

  • Bargains abound as Humble Bundle evolves into Humble Store

In case periodic Humble Bundle releases and weekly sales aren't enough to sate your appetite for wildly cheap games that directly benefit charity, the people behind the Bundle have now launch the Humble Store. The video above serves as a mute demonstration of how the Humble Store works, but anyone familiar with Steam or Good Old Games should feel right at home. The virtual retailer offers a number of games (largely independent titles) at sizable discounts, only unlike those aforementioned digital distribution services, the money earned by the Humble Store will be partially earmarked for charity: 75 percent of your purchase goes to the game's creators, 15 percent goes toward administrative fees, and the remaining 10 percent goes to charity. The game selection on the Humble Store is a bit scant at the moment, but it's a quality over quantity situation. You'll find games available on Windows, Linux and Mac, and standout releases such as Don't Starve, Gunpoint and Rogue Legacy - none of which are currently priced higher than $7.50. If you prefer the old way of doing things, you're in luck: Despite the Humble Store's debut, the Humble Bundle will continue to appear on a regular basis. Joining the Humble Bundle mailing list will now inform you both about upcoming Bundles as well as new deals on the Humble Store, which are said to change on a daily basis.

  • Cipher Prime's pill-popper, Intake, on Steam after hitting Humble Bundle

Intake has no business being as fun as it is, considering its super-simple premise. I first got a taste of Intake at GDC, during the second annual Indie Press Mixer, where I can state without shame that I had a blast popping pills to some of Cipher Prime's famously sick beats. That's the premise of Intake – split the Dr. Mario-esque pills as they fall from the top of the screen, while ensuring your clicker is tuned to the correct color. Super simple and super addicting. Intake is out now on Steam, on sale for $9 through November 13. It launched with the Cipher Prime Humble Weekly Sale in October, alongside some of the studio's established games, including Splice, Auditorium, Pulse and Fractal. The bundle ended up selling 41,529 units, studio co-founder William Stallwood tells me. "It's the best marketing tool we have," he says. "The guys who run Humble Bundle are fantastic. They help us launch and test and are very supportive. If we don't make any money, we still get to feel good – it's for charity." Besides, Stallwood says, getting on Humble Bundle is a measure of success: "I'm not sure the real value of a Humble Bundle is the money. I would say it's the exposure. It's almost an indie 'you've made it.'" Getting on Steam is also an indicator that a studio is doing something right, and Cipher Prime now has four games there.

  • Warner Bros. Humble Bundle on the way [update: confirmed, live]

Update: Humble Bundle confirmed it's launching a WB Games bundle that's expected later today, featuring six games: F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin, F.E.A.R. 3, Lord of the Rings: War in the North, Scribblenauts Unlimited, and the Game of the Year Editions of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Each game purchase is redeemable through Steam, but you'll have to pay over the average to unlock Scribblenauts Unlimited and Arkham City. Update 2: The WB Games collection is live and kicking on Humble Bundle. It'll run for two weeks, ending on November 19. Original Story: Warner Bros will become the latest big-name company to take center stage in a Humble Bundle, going by an apparently premature update (deleted but screen-capped above) on the Scribblenauts Facebook page. The series' official account listed Scribblenauts Unlimited as one of six games included in a bundle raising money for DC Entertainment's We Can Be Heroes charity campaign, but said bundle isn't live (yet). We've reached out to Warner Bros. for comment. If accurate, Warner Bros. would follow EA, Double Fine, and THQ as one of the rather more recognizable names to get in on the Humble Bundle act. The site partially raises money for charity by featuring downloadable collections of games at pay-what-you-want prices, such as the weekly sale on games by Worms dev Team 17 that it's currently hosting.

Wonderfully predictable Humble Bundle has added three new games to the Humble Bundle with Android 7: Anomaly Korea from 11-Bit Studios, Broken Sword: Director's Cut from Revolution Software and Organ Trail: Director's Cut from The Men Who Wear Many Hats. Plus, this round adds Europe DLC for Ticket to Ride, a game already included in the Humble Bundle. Get these newbies by paying more than the average price. Humble Bundle with Android 7 includes Incredipede, Anodyne, Greed Corp and Ticket to Ride (plus USA 1910 DLC) for whatever price you want, with Worms Reloaded and The Bard's Tale thrown in by paying more than the average. All games are available on PC, Mac, Linux and Android, and paying more than $1 grabs Steam keys as well. Whatever you decide to pay, it can all go to a good cause, or to the developers themselves, or to Humble Bundle.

Humble Bundle with Android 7 includes six games (for now) and their soundtracks, available on PC, Mac, Linux and Android: Incredipede, Anodyne, Greed Corp, Ticket to Ride plus USA 1910 DLC, Worms Reloaded and The Bard's Tale. The first four titles are available for whatever price you want, while Worms Reloaded and The Bard's Tale are unlocked by paying more than the average. This strategy also unlocks any games that are added before the bundle's time is up in two weeks – and yes, there will be more games. Grab Steam keys for each title by paying $1 or more. Customers can allocate whatever amount they decide to pay among the developers, Humble itself or charity. It's going well so far – Incredipede developer Colin Northway notes that in the Humble Bundle's first 15 minutes, sales surpassed Incredipede's launch day numbers, and in 20 minutes it sold more than the game's first day on Steam.

The Kickstarter-funded strategy-RPG Star Command and Tiny Wings-like autoscroller Time Surfer headline the bundle, marking the first time either game has been available for Android. Bundle buyers additionally get Noodlecake Studios' platformer Punch Quest and Ninja Kiwi's tower defense game Bloons TD 5. Beat the average purchase price (currently around $4) and you'll also receive Crescent Moon Games' action-RPG Ravensword: Shadowlands and the gory racing classic Carmageddon. Humble Mobile Bundle 2 is available through October 9.

The Humble Bundle is easily the best deal available on the internet when it comes to pay-what-you-want entertainment. It works on a sliding scale of price / morality. You pay whatever you want for a block of games / movies / comedy albums / e-books etc, from zero dollars on. Buyers who pay more than the average get bonus content. It's truly a wonderful idea. Currently, the deal being offered is the Humble Indie Bundle 9, a set of four incredible games for your standard customers with two extra games for people who pay more than US$4.59. That's right -- six full games for less than a dollar apiece. More importantly, this particular bundle marks the Mac debut of two of these titles. The basic package comes with Trine 2: Complete Story, Mark of the Ninja (for the first time on Mac), Eets Munchies Beta and the Jack Black-starring heavy metal role-playing game Brütal Legend. If you pay more than the standard amount you also get FTL: Faster Than Light and the legendary 2D platformer in a 3D world, Fez. You can watch the bundle's trailer below. Head over to the Humble Bundle website now and get stocked up on games.

We've seen the Humble Bundle be used to introduce some big games to new platforms in the past, and the latest offering is no exception. The 9th edition of the Indie Bundle sees both indie game favorite Fez and Mark of the Ninja making their debut on Mac and Linux. Along with those, you'll get FTL: Faster Than Light, Trine 2 and Brutal Legend, plus the beta version of Eets Munchies, which is making its debut on all three platforms. As usual, you can pay whatever you like for the bundle and choose how much goes to the developers and charities (EFF, Child's Play and Watsi), but you'll have to pay more than the average to get Fez and FTL. Those not up on their indie gaming can get a taste of what's in store in the video after the break -- just don't get your hopes up for a Fez sequel if you like what you find.

More than 2.1 million bundles sold, over $10.5 million for charities. Those are the staggering statistics the EA-sponsored Humble Origin Bundle signed off on this week, easily becoming the most successful Humble Bundle with more than double of the prior best-seller. The bundle allowed customers to purchase a collection of EA games on PC, including blockbusters like Dead Space 3, Burnout Paradise, Mirror's Edge, Battlefield 3, and several others at a pay-what-you-want price. The two-week campaign raised an amazing eight figures in funding for various charities, including The American Red Cross, The San Francisco Aids Foundation, and The Human Rights Campaign among others. Caps doffed all round, we feel.

  • Origin Bundle is the biggest seller in Humble Bundle's history

    08.23.2013

The Electronic Arts-sponsored Humble Origin Bundle has earned over $8.6 million in charity donations since its launch earlier this month, breaking previous sales records and emerging as the biggest-selling Humble Bundle offering to date. The record surpasses last year's Humble Indie Bundle V, which took in $5.1 million over the course of its two-week campaign. The Humble Origin Bundle collects EA's Dead Space, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Crysis 2 Maximum Edition, Mirror's Edge, Dead Space 3, Medal of Honor, Battlefield 3 and The Sims 3 in a pay-what-you-want package. Buyers have the option of dividing their purchase price between several featured charities. The collection recently added Bullfrog's 1989 strategy game Populous and 2009's RTS Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - Uprising to its lineup of "beat the average" purchase incentives. The Humble Origin Bundle will remain available through next Wednesday.

Huh, well would you look at that! It's a Humble Bundle, only it's made entirely out of EA games. Weird! Specifically, a dollar or more will net you Dead Space, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Crysis 2 Maximum Edition, Mirror's Edge, Dead Space 3 and Medal of Honor. Paying above the average (currently hovering around $5) also unlocks Battlefield 3 and The Sims 3 "+ Starter Pack." Steam keys are available for Dead Space, Burnout Paradise, Crysis 2, Medal of Honor and Mirrors Edge, while the rest of the games on offer can only be delivered as Origin codes. Unlike most Bundles, however, which are split three-ways between a charity, the publisher/developer and the Humble folks, the Humble Origin Bundle is only being split between charities and the Humble Bundle organizers – EA takes no cut. The Humble Bundle folks have already tweeted that this bundle has surpassed $100,000 faster than any other in its history, so things seem like they're off to a good start for a good cause.

  • Humble Android Bundle 6 adds McPixel, Waking Mars, NightSky HD

The sixth Humble Bundle with Android just added three more reasons to throw down some cash: McPixel, Waking Mars and NightSky HD. All three games are available for PC, Mac, Linux and Android devices. The new games join Frozen Synapse and Broken Sword: Director's Cut behind the "more than the average" paywall (the average is currently below $5). Meanwhile, Aquaria, Fractal, Organ Trail: Director's Cut, Stealth Bastard Deluxe and Pulse are all available for any price you desire. McPixel, Waking Mars and NightSky HD come with their soundtracks, just as the other games do. Those who have already purchased a bundle can access these new games from their Humble Bundle download pages. The complete bundle is now valued at $120, and as always customers can dole out their money among charities (Child's Play and the EFF), the developers or Humble Bundle itself. The Humble Bundle program has raised more than $13.7 million for charity to date. Humble Android Bundle 6 is live for seven more days.

Humble Bundle 6 lasts for two weeks and includes PC, Mac, Linux and Android versions of five games for the low, low price of "anything": Aquaria, Fractal, Organ Trail: Director's Cut, Stealth Bastard Deluxe and Pulse. Pulse is the outlier, available for Android only. Pay more than the average and snag Frozen Synapse and Broken Sword: Director's Cut. Frozen Synapse is in late beta on Android and has some known issues, and it's best played on tablets, the developer notes. All games come with their respective soundtracks, too. Currently the Humble Android Bundle's average is below $5, so act fast and get seven games for less than one single-digit piece of American money. Or, knowing that you can allocate your money among charity, the developers and Humble itself, you can pay the equivalent of a double-digit piece of money. Or triple-digit. All of these games would cost $95 separately, and it's safe to expect more additions before the sale ends in two weeks. Because that's how Humble Bundles roll.

Also included are Vlambeer's turn-based RPG Serious Sam: The Random Encounter, Mommy's Best Games' gun-stacking side-scroller Serious Sam Double D, and Be-Rad Entertainment's autoscrolling platformer Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack. Bundle buyers who beat the average purchase price (currently around $4) will also receive Serious Sam 2 and the Deluxe Edition of Serious Sam 3 BFE, which includes the Classic (non-HD) versions of The First Encounter and The Second Encounter, along with a downloadable soundtrack.
