Late-night comedy’s five biggest hosts are starting a podcast. Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, John Oliver and Jimmy Fallon will host Strike Force Five, a weekly chat about “the complexities behind the ongoing Hollywood strikes.” All proceeds will go to out-of-work staff from the hosts’ five talk shows.

On April 18th, late night hosts and celebrities will participate in One World: Together At Home, a virtual benefit concert to raise money for the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
Hitting the Books: Stop pranking your kids to impress Jimmy Kimmel
Welcome to Hitting the Books. With less than one in five Americans reading just for fun these days, we've done the hard work for you by scouring the internet for the most interesting, thought provoking books on science and technology we can find and delivering an easily digestible nugget of their stories.
Apple releases humorous ad showcasing Voice Text feature on iOS 8
One of the unsung features of IOS 8 is the new Voice Text feature, which allows you to send quick voice messages via text. Experience the joy of leaving a voice mail without the threat of someone actually answering when you call. All jokes aside, Voice Text is a wonderfully convenient way to send quick messages when you don't have time to talk on the phone. To show just how useful the feature can be, Apple has released the following ad, once again featuring Jimmy Kimmel and Justin Timberlake. Its message: don't let difficult to spell names and words keep you from texting. You can view the ad below.
Jimmy Kimmel takes on 12.9-inch iPad in latest skit
Jimmy Kimmel isn't one to pass up an opportunity to poke fun at Apple while entertaining his audience. Last night's show was no exception with Kimmel taking on the 12.9-inch iPad rumors in a skit that'll amuse all the rumor skeptics in our midst. Check out Kimmel's video below and let us know what you think in the comments.
Jimmy Kimmel convinces people that a $20 Casio is Apple's iWatch [Video]
Jimmy Kimmel may not have the late-night comedic chops of Stephen Colbert or even Jimmy Fallon, but the man sure knows a thing or two about a good old fashioned prank. During yesterday's broadcast, Kimmel and Co. were able to convince a few passersby on the street that a cheap $20 Casio watch adorned with an Apple sticker was in fact a newfangled smartwatch. The amount of credit Apple gets here for a watch that displays both the time and the date (!) is pretty hilarious. The action starts about a minute in. The best is the woman who enjoys that the watch is always in airplane mode as it really works to preserve the battery life.
Kimmel and Kobe go to war in live-action Black Ops trailer
War is undoubtedly Hell -- except in those rare instances where it's actually really fun! Like, sure, you're constantly risking death, but that's what makes it so entertaining! And sometimes, while you're killing people Jimmy Kimmel shows up! Look at him try to use that rocket launcher! What a card! And Kobe Bryant is there! He's a celebrity! We could get murdered by a celebrity. Fine, we're entirely cognizant of the fact that the Call of Duty: Black Ops trailer described above and posted below takes place in a wondrous, fictitious world -- but we can dream, can't we? We can dream of being shot to death by professional basketball players. We have that right.
No Comment: Justin Long's jailbroken iPhone
Either way, this iconic image of the Mac pitchman with his jailbroken iPhone merits a resounding No Comment. Video clip in the second half of the post. Thanks to Riyan for the picture.
Celebrity Nerds: Justin Long jailbreaks his iPhone like a PC guy (video)
Celebrity Nerds confirms what you always knew, deep in your heart of hearts: that stars are nerds like us. Send in your own confirmations of this fact right here. With his contract to Apple now a thing of the past, we guess Justin Long's not the smug, overconsuming Mac archetype we'd always assumed. We've gotta give credit to a man who sticks it to his former employer by busting out of the walled garden as demonstrated by the Cydia icon's appearance on Long's iPhone during a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live. Then again, jailbreakme made the process so easy even a hollywood actor could do it, so who knows. Update: Video embedded after the break. Skip ahead to the 7:04 mark for the evidence. Update 2: A theory has emerged in comments that the show's producer, not Justin, is responsible for the jailbreak. The idea is supported by the fact that Cydia and the TVOutTuner apps are sitting in what would typically be the most recently installed app positions (assuming all other screens are full), with the latter app required to mirror the iPhone's display on that big monitor. Jimmy Kimmel films show with MacBook, next stop Chatroulette
Ever hear of a television studio losing power for the cameras only, but still having enough juice to run the lights, audio, and seemingly everything else in the studio? Neither have we, which is why we're a bit skeptical that what happened on Jimmy Kimmel earlier this week wasn't some sort of publicity stunt -- but it's an interesting one nevertheless. The supposed mystery power outage for the control room left Kimmel with nothing to do but cancel the show or flip open his trusty MacBook, and it's the latter he chose to do, recording the entire episode in what looks to be VGA. (It aired last night, but there's a clip at the source link if you missed it.) Quick-thinking by a former Man Show host, or contrived PR grab? Either way, it's mission accomplished.
Jimmy Kimmel films entire show with iSight, conspiracy theorists raise an eyebrow
I hate to be the one to point this out... but Jimmy's network, ABC, is a Disney division. Disney, in turn, owns Pixar; naturally, Pixar's chairman sits on Disney's board and happens to be the largest single shareholder in the entertainment mega-conglomerate. Yes, folks, both Mickey Mouse and Jimmy Kimmel work for Steve Jobs, in a manner of speaking. We already know that Mac plugs and Apple references are business as usual for Pixar (in fact, there's a flat panel iMac prominently featured in Toy Story 3)... could a Mac-saves-the-show stunt be extra publicity for a teensy Apple product launch this week? [See below -- looks like "no, it isn't."] Not that the iPhone 4 particularly needs the help. We'll try to get an answer out of ABC's press relations team in the morning to determine whether this is a true story of comic ingenuity. or a very elaborate Apple ad. Update: True/Slant had a reporter at the show, and they did in fact start quite late after power problems; Kimmel was apparently in no mood for these shenanigans. The New York Times posted a brief interview with Kimmel where he said the stunt was not an Apple promotion; in fact, he was concerned Apple might take the whole thing the wrong way.
Jack Black discusses the demon slayer's workout on Jimmy Kimmel Live
This week, Jack Black continued his bizarre Brütal Legend promotional tour with an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, somewhat in character as Eddie Riggs. As we watched Black upturn furniture and do clap push-ups, we started to realize that he's getting rather a lot of mileage out of that muscle suit. And then we couldn't help but wonder: what do you think that suit smells like right now? And how do you even clean the inside of a foam rubber muscle suit? Do you use household cleaners of some kind, or does the film industry have a specially formulated solution just for cleaning bodysuits?... Oh, right, the Kimmel segment's after the break, in four parts.
Jimmy Kimmel debuted last night in HD...let's see if anyone noticed
Surprise, surprise, late night TV had a show or two that had not yet made the jump to high definition. Thanks to our friends at TV Squad, we've got a video clip from Jimmy Kimmel's first broadcast in 720p (embedded after the break.) We're not sure how we missed this highly anticipated debut (probably because we didn't get an invite), we apologize and promise to do better. The day Carson Daly switches to HD we will be right on it (unless of course he's currently HDTV-ready, in which case we will substitute Chelsea Lately, a show we actually watch.)[Via TV Squad]
Mila Kunis quits WoW, breaks nerd hearts everywhere
Mila Kunis, who got her breakthrough role playing air-headed Jackie on That 70's Show, was always one of the more famous people playing our favorite game. Ukraine-born Kunis was interviewed by Complex magazine a while back and she revealed a surprisingly pleasant grasp of the game, which she plays with her long-time boyfriend Macaulay Culkin (yeah, that kid from Home Alone. He's all grown up now, sorry, guys.). This won the approval of nerds everywhere -- that includes me -- because a hot babe playing a video game always gets a thumbs up.In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kunis promotes her new movie, the video-game inspired Max Payne, and talks about having had to quit the game "for good, going on a year now." Confusingly, however, the actress continues to talk about "the game" in the present tense, talking about being in two guilds, getting recognized through in-game voice chat, and how she plays a kickass Alliance Mage. It's an interesting and funny interview where she also hints at keeping tabs on the expansion's new 10-man raids as well as confesses to sucking at shoot-em ups. For someone who hasn't played the game for about a year, she sure does give it a lot of love, saying that "it's such a good game" and that she "loves it so much." Maybe when Wrath comes out she'll rethink that hiatus from the game, eh?
Jimmy Kimmel previews The Bourne Conspiracy: Guillermo edition
A little backstory for those who aren't regular viewers of Jimmy Kimmel Live! -- at the conclusion of many early episodes, Kimmel would apologize for bumping Matt Damon due to time constraints, though almost always in jest. As the tabloids spun a web of rumors concerning a feud between Damon and the late night host, Kimmel's girlfriend Sarah Silverman appeared on the show and debuted a music video admitting she was, in fact, having an affair with Damon. Kimmel replied in kind.Guillermo Rodriguez is the show's actual parking lot security guard, and often serves as a celebrity gossip reporter -- he even bumped Damon from a few celebrity interviews, fueling the fake feud. In the above video, Kimmel reveals that the guard-turned-gossiper managed to bump Damon from his own video game: The Bourne Conspiracy. Sure, it's not exactly accurate, as Damon was never slated to fill Bourne's digital shoes, but the resulting gameplay footage is hilarious nonetheless.[Thanks, Steve.]
Exclusive footage from the "Lost" game
ABC's Jimmy Kimmel managed to get his hands on an advance copy of the Lost video game. "One of the guys at the office played it all day today", and as you'll see, he certainly seemed to enjoy it.
